It is always “5 O’Clock somewhere in the world”. However, your experience at 5 O’Clock Mission Beach will be unique. 5 O’clock is located at Wongaling Beach, just across the road from the beach. From the time you enter you will relax and unwind, you will be in holiday mode. The spacious open plan living dining kitchen area is a fabulous space with wonderful high ceilings. Open the sliding doors and let the sea breezes in or on the warmer days close up, put on the air conditioning whilst you laze on the comfy couch reading that book or catching up on some TV. Cooking will not be a chore as you create that masterpiece or close the kitchen for the night and go out to Spicy Thai Hut, Mission Beach Resort or travel a little further to Mission Beach Village and try one of the casual restaurants with their tasty local creations – Castaways Resort, The Garage, Mission Beach Tavern…….. When it is time for sleep there are 3 bedrooms – 1 queen bedroom, 1 double bedroom and twin single bedroom with air conditioning in the queen bedroom and living area only. Wake early, catch the amazing sunrises taking a stroll along the shores of Wongaling Beach enjoying the views to Dunk Island out to the Coral Sea – you might see the pod of dolphins playing close to shore. Or why not have late afternoon “5 O’clock” drinks under the coconut trees enjoying the sea breezes watching the changing colours of the clouds over Dunk Island. Come home, take a dip and cool off in the small plunge pool after your beach strolls. 5 O’clock is waiting for you to unwind, relax and create memorable experiences. 5 O'clock can sleep up to 6 guests. Wongaling Beach is considered by locals to be the central hub of the Mission Beach area. It offers a large range of the exclusive and sought after absolute beachfront accommodation on Reid Road and Koda Street. Beachfront properties are also available on Banfield Parade being across the road from the beach. The small shopping village at Wongaling Beach (easy to identify thanks to the Big Cassowary sculpture) has a gym, cafe and hair salon. There is a drive in bottle shop at Mission Beach Resort. Adjacent to this complex is Woolworths which has the Bendigo Bank a smaller Bottle shop, pharmacy and cafe. The supermarket is closed on Sundays. You can also find the service station – open 7 days - at Woolworths complex. ANZ and Westpac ATM’s are situated within Woolworths. Dining out in Wongaling Beach – Mission Beach Resort offers bistro style dining, Spicy Thai Hut offers fab Thai food and there is the Italian, Cafe Rustica. Wongaling also offers a great kids playground, skate park, basketball half court and 'Splash'N'Dunk' water play park, this is all situated in the beachfront parkland at Rotary Park. Just a short 5-10 minute drive will take you to the village centre of Mission Beach with a great range of café’s bars and specialty shops. The Mini Mart and Leny’s fruit and vegetable store are open on Sundays when Woolworths is closed. The first and third Sunday of each month there a markets in the Ulysses park at Mission Beach. The Mission Beach Monster Markets are held on the last Sunday of each month from Easter Sunday until November. These are located at Ulysses park at Mission Beach. It is recommended to have a car when staying at Wongaling Beach. Another option available is hiring a push bike. This is a great way to get out and about Mission Beach. Riding along the beach is a real treat.
