We loved staying here! It was as expected for an older building, but was very clean and comfortable. Everything seemed well taken care of. We had no issues at all and check-in/check-out were very simple. Thank you!
Decent spot. A little rougher than the pictures made it out to be, but overall for the price I was very pleased. Good location and typical amenities. Can’t complain!
This was a good resting spot as we explored surrounding areas & as an alternative to spendy hotels or condos. The town is cute & location was great to walk to coffee & pizza. Good communication with owner!
The place was in an ideal location for enjoying golf and hiking/ exploring the area. The theme was cute and the place had everything we needed. It was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The owners were responsive and check in and out was seamless. Highly recommend it.
Place was great! John and Cori was always quick to reply to any messages! Very well stocked and clean! Right in the heart of old downtown New Castle, close to every thing you needed! Definitely will stay there again!
My boyfriend and I stayed here with our dog for a short ski weekend. Everything was exactly as advertised, clean, and extremely easy! Super cute little town with great restaurants and nice views. Would definitely stay here again!
The these was perfect and the room was very clean when we arrived. My only complaint would be about the shower. Im 5’3” and it felt like showering in a small box after the hot springs. There was shampoo and conditioner though which I appreciate.
The apartment was very clean and set-up perfectly. The hand-painted mural by a local artist and artwork was a perfect touch. The kitchen and dining area was perfect for making dinner and breakfast and there was plenty of room for the two of us and our dogo. The location was great, too. I had no worries leaving my truck and bike parked outside. It was right off the primary street in town, walking distance to a couple restaurants, and also close to Glenwood Springs. The owners were in contact, and the communication was great. They even left a dog bed and bowls for our pup! It's a great place and I'll definitely stay there next time I'm near Glenwood!
My family loved our stay here! Really appreciated the attention to detail in committing to the theme! Not only was the decor and art marching, but even having comics themselves to read and box sets of Marvel and DC movies to watch. The room had everything we needed and the kitchen was a nice break from needing to go out to eat. Having the grocery store right up the road makes putting the kitchen to use very easy. Lastly, being within walking distance of small, local restaurants right across the street, and just a 15 minute drive from Glenwood Springs, was a huge plus! The brewery especially was fantastic. On the service side, Cori was wonderful to deal with and prompt to address any questions. Was only a text message away! All in all, highly recommend! This is such a unique way to take an 1800s era building and turn it around for modern use. We will definitely be coming back and will look at reserving a different themed room to explore the place a bit more.
The host was absolutely fantastic, best customer service I have ever received. He called me 3-4 times on the way there to let me know Glenwood canyon may be closed due to flash flood warning, and called me with updates if it would open. We greatly appreciated that. The property was great. Very cool, nice and clean, good A/C, very cute little town. We do wish there was a grassy area for our dog to go potty, but there’s a park less than .5 miles down the street so we took her there. Fantastic stay, we appreciate your kindness so much we will be back.
We were so pleased with our stay. The property was clean when we got there. We enjoyed the mural and looking for all the characters. We liked the other well thought out, intentional details the room had to offer.
It was easy to communicate with John the property owner. He accommodated us being there later than check in time. Parking was easy. We had dinner and tried to watch the Avs game one night but ended up leaving because we wanted to yell at the TV and be respectful of the other guests (lol). The staff was nice too.
Overall the town of New Castle is kind and welcoming. It has good food and warm locals who are happy to guide you to what you’re looking for. We came with the intention of spending a lot of time in Glenwood Springs, but we didn’t end up going and spent most of our time in New Castle and fishing.
The iceberg lounge was excellent! It was clean, entertaining and overall worth it! Perfect lumber support for myself, my partner likes softer. The building has a lot of character and the laundry room near the entrance provides a homey feel. We very much enjoyed our stay!
I needed a place to stay for a month. I wanted a place close to town. I couldn’t have asked for a better, spot or experience!
John and his staff are the friendliest people out there. The property is centrally located in New Castle, the restaurant below the property has the best food and drinks out there. The property was a great place to get work done.
A really amazing experience. I will be coming back!
Our stay was wonderful! The room was complete with a small kitchen and comfortable bed. The decor was absolutely amazing being themed as a DC comic book. Wall murals, and art deco furniture. A bar and grill is downstairs so everything is convenient. Can't wait to stay again to see another room! One downside is, there is no elevator nor handicap accessibility so be prepared to schlep your suitcases up one flight of stairs.
This place was so charming and wonderful!! My husband and I decided to do one last trip before our second baby is born, and this was the perfect little getaway. The property manager/owner John was extremely communicative and helpful. When we checked in it was a little cold so I called to ask where the thermostat was and he told us where to find a space heater, which was an amazing addition because it did get chilly. The room itself was super cool, painted like Gotham city with art hanging up of all of the villains. My two year old kept pointing to it and saying “bad guy!” Lol. Anyway, John also called us the first night to let us know his wife who works at the hospital had a couple of extra COVID vaccines, and asked if we wanted them. This was super thoughtful and kind, especially considering the pandemic has been super stressful and just looking out for his fellow person. Lastly, when checking out, I left my phone in the room and had to call John to ask how to get back in to get my phone. He was extremely helpful and walked me through how to get a spare key, no questions asked. I appreciate the small town trust and the kindness of these hosts. Also, the restaurant downstairs was DELICIOUS. My favorite French fries of all time are the skinny fries, and they delivered. Overall amazing stay and would definitely stay there again if we go back to New Castle!!
This cozy little apartment was great for a quick ski getaway to Sunlight. Bear in mind that you can get a rollaway bed for another occupant, but that it'll likely fill up the kitchen. All in all, we were comfortable here. The kitchen was too small for us to want to cook in it at all, but we were happy with the stay!! Hogback Pizza across the street is AMAZING!
This place was AWESOME!! We loved the theme of the room (Iceberg lounge) and all the unique memorabilia and deco. We’re big nerds so the Super Nintendo, record player and comics were really fun to checkout. John was really easy to communicate with and very accommodating! The location is fantastic, off the beaten path from touristy stuff but still close enough to enjoy the hot springs and some great hiking. The room was incredibly clean and the kitchen was great to cook most of our meals. Highly recommend this room(and the other themed rooms look super cool too) for a fun and relaxing getaway in the mountains.
Such a great little spot right on Main Street. Love the themed rooms! The ice cooler full of board games made our stay. Very easy to reach John if any questions come up and he’s so nice!
