A cozy and comfortable one bedroom fully furnished unit nestled in the hills of Solberg/Scott Free. This unit is air-conditioned, has free wifi access, dish-network service, a full kitchen, and a washer and dryer. There is a small porch to enjoy your morning coffee and relax. A Great spot for a single person, a couple, or business professional looking for a relaxing getaway or peace and quiet. Located seven minutes from the airport; ten minutes to downtown Charlotte Amalie or twelve mintues from three of the island’s popular beaches is an added convenience. We welcome you to stay at “A Gem in the Hills”.

Nice apartment

We enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was clean and comfortable. It was a nice home base for exploring St. Thomas. It was nice to have a little balcony to sit outside and enjoy the view of the bay and feel the warm breezes.

Perfect getaway

We had a wonderful stay here! The unit is in a quiet residential neighborhood with nice views from the balcony. It appeared to be freshly renovated, clean, very thoughtfully laid out, and has everything you need. The owner Monique was extremely attentive and friendly and went the extra mile to accommodate us and make us feel welcome. We highly recommend this place.

Excellent---Gem in the Hills is exactly right!!!

This is an excellent place for a short or long term visit! The apartment was immaculate, very modern and up-to-date. The host Monique was outstanding with her service and assistance in providing directions to the location. If visiting St Thomas again, I would definitely stay here and will recommend others...everything was just really outstanding! 5 Stars!

Cute little getaway!

This is a cute, clean place up in the hills with great views of the harbor. We enjoyed watching the cruise ships as they left each morning. All in all this place was exactly what we needed and exactly like the pictures showed. I would have given this a 5 star review except for the parking situation. There isn’t a parking spot down by the unit, you have to park up the hill and the road you have to walk down (about 100+ feet) is quite bumpy with a lot of uneven surfaces. Then there are additional stairs at the bottom. This normally wouldn’t have been a big deal for me, but I had a recent knee surgery and this really challenged the condition of my knee. I actually fell twice because of the uneven surface. I wasn’t hurt though and like I said this normally wouldn’t have been a big deal. Once my knee gets stronger I would definitely stay here again.

Hello Bret, Thank you for your review. I am glad your stay was enjoyable. The “driveway” is constructed that way to allow traction for driving. We have not had any issues in the past and like you said without the surgery to your knee all would have been fine. I would have been happy to allow you to park at the bottom of the driveway had I known your issue. If your travels bring you back this way before your kneel heals I am happy to switch parking spots for a few days. Thanks again for your visit and stay.

Peace and serenity

I was seeking rest and relaxation and I was able accomplish exactly that during my stay. The apartment was clean with all new appliances. This was the absolute perfect getaway.! I have only one request. For visitors it may be helpful to distinguish that Solberg is a road and not a city or particular area. Thank you so much! Steven

The addressing on the islands can be a bit confusing. “Solberg” is named both for a road and an area. My son suggested I make a directional video from the airport to the property address in Solberg. I think it is a great and I will be doing so for future guests. All the best to you for the upcoming year!!

Very nice spot

I’m glad I found this place. My husband calls it “gem in the hills”, I was a contract employee of the hospital and this place was perfect. It was so nice having my own washer and dryer. Monique was so helpful, the first day there she took me to the hospital to meet my rental car. She is so easy to get hold of if I had any questions thank you Monique for all you did. Great place would definitely rent again.😀Heidi
