Amazing Place!

It was hard to believe we were so close to "civilization" because the property seemed so secluded. The place had a nice camp feel, and was very conducive to relaxation!

Bayou Haven

Beautiful cottage on the bayou . Lots of windows . The views are wonderful anytime of day. We loved sitting on the porch watching variety of birds. Great to spend day exploring New Orleans and come back to the moonlit water and frogs singing. Easy 35-40min drive to downtown NO. We ate great seafood food in Slidell. Enjoyed Fountainbleu State Park and Honey island swamp tour.. Tamney Trace rails to trail path looked like a lot of fun and very close to cottage. Cottage has a lot of character and everything needed. Lucy was very welcoming.

Absolutely loved it. Very peaceful. Beautiful scenary. Owner checked on us several times. Really good location...out by yourself but just minutes from everything. Highly recommended!

Blissful Bayou Retreat

Basic and beautiful cottage right on the bayou. Perfect place to relax and unwind. Great for nature lovers yet close enough to NoLA and MSY. Thank you, Lucy, for a memorable stay and hope to make it back some day soon.

Amazing Getaway

My husband and I spent an amazing week at the property for our honeymoon. The location was amazing. Close enough to visit New Orleans and other sites but wonderfully private. The owner was great with communication and directions to the property and even left us some cookies and bottled water for our arrival. We couldn’t have been happier with our stay and when we are planning a trip to the area again we have our home away from home.

We didn’t want to leave!

Hats off to Lucy!! Our host was wonderful! She communicated very well. (She also has a lovely art and restored furniture shop on Front St. in Slidell called Lulu’s Nearly New) We only had one little plumbing issue but Lucy took care of it right away and made sure it couldn’t happen again and she even threw in a nice perk for us to make up for it! The cottage is well-built, clean and comfortable and neatly decorated to fit the local scene. The surroundings are beautiful (and we went in early March so not even peak beauty). The Liberty and Paquet Bayous going by were teeming with jumping little fish and we even saw a few gators but they didn’t come near the property. Between the house and Bayou is a marshy grassland area were we saw birds and a little pond with frogs, nutria, and even an otter. The forest to the right was wild and lovely, right next to a nature preserve, and we could see an osprey in a tall pine tree and other wildlife. The neighborhood was quiet and safe with only two other houses at the end of the cul-de-sac with us and only one lived in full time I think. It’s out of the way but not too secluded. (FYI, don’t trust Google or Imaps to get you there but Lucy gives great directions and it’s easy to find.) It was a great HQ for exploring the area. Recommended by my wife and I for sure!

Beautiful and charming

Stayed in February. Though it was cold, even by Louisiana standards, the thoughtful owner provided plenty of extra heaters and blankets. House is so cute decorated with artwork and the view from deck is inspiring. Will definitely recommend for outdoorsy folks who want to stay of the city to enjoy local wildlife.

Great house, poor timing

The cottage was perfect. Cute, with a beautiful setting and all the wildlife we hoped for. The timing that put us there in the middle of a flood event took some of the fun out of it, but not near enough to prevent us from booking the same house the next time we visit the area. WE LOVED THIS PROPERTY!!

Away from it all.

We found this property by accident online and we were quite intrigued by it. Check-in was easy and thanks to Lucy for checking on us each step of the way. The house is small and tastefully rustic, perfect for a couple or small family. It sits right on a small bayou with a beautiful view, you can even see New Orleans while standing on the deck. If you are looking for quiet and getting near nature, it doesn't get any better than this. Sitting on the deck all you can hear is the nature around you, frogs, birds, crickets, fish jumping, with an occasional boat during the day. Perfect for much-needed rest and relaxation. We will be back.

Paradise on the Bayou

Had a wonderful stay and wanted for nothing. Lucy was a delight to deal with. The location was perfect for our needs and we would surly recommend to anyone looking for a clean comfortable and well appointed spot that exudes charm and tranquility. And as a bonus, New Orleans is about 40 minutes away and an easy drive.

Piece of Heaven

This is a beautiful secluded cottage with great views and a constant breeze. The cottage is decorated with love down to the tiniest details. Very peaceful and relaxing getaway close to the charm of downtown Mandeville but also a short distance from Nola. Definitely a gem we will try to visit often. Property owner, Lucy, is very kind and hospitable!

Loved this bayou hide-away!

We went to New Orleans to experience Mardi Gras, and stayed in this great little cottage in Slidell. Close enough to the city so it took less than 30 minutes to drive there, but definitely had more of a country vibe away from life’s stress. Perfect size for 3 adults but could easily sleep 4-5. Pics really don’t do it justice how nice it really is. Lucy, the owner answered all of our questions quickly by text message... wish we could have met her face to face but she had other things going on that week. She had every detail covered for our stay, even had bottled water in the fridge for us. We didn’t do a lot of cooking, but anything you might need to do so is there. The views from the porch are breathtaking at sunset and sunrise. Hope to visit NOLA again at some time other than carnival season, and would love to stay here again!!

Thanksgiving Getaway

The cottage location was great! It was very serene and peaceful! The sunrises were absolutely beautiful!! I would highly recommend if you wanna a place to stay outside the city and don't mind commuting this is the place!! Lucy the property owner was great to communicate with and work very graciously with our need of early check-in. Thanks Lucy we thoroughly enjoyed our stayed!!
