Great Farmhouse
We stayed at the farmhouse for a weekend in April to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. The owners allowed us to check in early so we could decorate for the surprise. I was so excited to see that they left "feed" for us to feed all the animals. We had 4 kids all together, ages ranging from 9 to 14, and they loved feeding the animals and fishing in the pond. The back enclosed patio was perfect for us to gather and play board games. I highly recommend for a great time!

Beautiful property!!
Absolutely adored this stay and the beautiful property. The animals are so fun to feed and watch! My favorite part was the cats because they are super friendly and will cuddle with you while sitting on the porch. So sad I couldn’t take them with me :( If you are looking for a relaxing stay, this is the place!!

Weekend getaway for all
We had all ages and dogs and everyone was happy! Kids loved the animals and feeding the cats daily and adults loved relaxing in the screen porch and watching the turkey and the chickens. Nice kitchen and enough room for us to enjoy our meals together. Convenient hiking right from the house to take the dogs on walks. Very nice stay!

Ever since they were kids, both Shane and Melissa spent a lot of time outdoor in the woods on family camping trips, hiking, canoeing and fishing. It was always their dream to do the same with their kids. In 2006, Shane and Melissa had their first child, a beautiful baby boy. They decided that Shane would quit teaching high school chemistry and stay at home to take care of their son. About the same time, Shane and Melissa purchased a 42 acre plot of land near Warsaw, Ohio. During the next three years, the Bocock Family grew with the addition of two daughters and they spent a lot of time hiking, fishing, picking berries, camping, relaxing and saving money. During this time, they also thought how nice it would be to build a cabin that Shane--while still staying home with the kids--could rent out, allowing others to enjoy the beauty of the property. With the state of the economy, the idea was both exciting and scary. However, in the spring of 2011, Shane and Melissa felt the time was right. They wanted to build something special that would add to the already unique property. The Woodbury Cabin was started in June of 2011 and finished by the end of October the same year. Within days of listing the cabin rental online, calls started coming in. By 2014, with all dates filling up yearly at the Woodbury Cabin, Shane and Melissa decided it was time to add another rental. They came across a farmhouse that bordered the Mohican Forest in early 2015. They immediately fell in love with it, bought it, and turned it into a nightly vacation rental called the Mohican Farmhouse.

Why they chose this property

Once you arrive at the Mohican Farmhouse, you will experience the country charm of this rural gem. With a private pond, barns and pastures with friendly animals, and the Mohican Forest hugging it, the Mohican Farmhouse is a unique opportunity to experience farmhouse life while enjoying all the nearby attractions and activities!

What makes this property unique

There are so many favorites with the farmhouse, it's hard to decide what to do when you get there. The covered front porch has rockers and a relaxing swing overlooking the pond. The pond always has a gentle breeze that sings as it sneaks through pine trees that nestle it on two sides. The pastures are always green with roaming llamas, sheep, goats and chickens. The screened in porch is a great place to have dinner out in the fresh air overlooking the farm and forest. There is a large comfy leather chair in the master bedroom that is a favorite spot to sit and read one of the many books available at the farmhouse. The gas fireplace is very realistic and there is so much room to spread out on the leather sectional in the living room. The cottage is so cozy, quiet and private with great views of the llamas, pond and forest.
