The property was secluded, which is exaclty what I was looking for, the view was beautiful. Everything was clean, and cozy and as expected. The pictures or description doesn't mention that the upstairs loft has a pool table and darts, which was a very nice surprise! The property manager was easy to contact and answered any questions that I had. The only thing that would deter me from staying here again would be the drive way. The gravel made it difficult for me to get to the house, I have a midsize suv and had to back up and reposition the car multiple times in order for me to find an area that I could drive through. Overall the experience was amazing. It was close to main attractions, like the Island, and not to long drive to the mountains.
My fiance and I went with another couple. The cabin was just as beautiful as the pictures were. We had excellent communication with the property manager. I definitely would recommend to other people. Just make sure you have a good car to get up to the cabin
The house is really nice, the location is great, and really enjoyed the stay. Our biggest disappointment was the seating. The couch’s are old and one side of the couch is falling off. Outdoor furniture was cheap and broke.
This cabin was great! It was very clean and had everything we needed. Mikhail answered me immediately anytime I contacted him. The driveway is steep, but it’s the tight turns and gravel that may be challenging for some. It’s doable, so don’t let that dissuade you from picking this place. You just have to go for it!
The cabin is very nice. It is surrounded by trees. The host was very nice and took care of any issues that we had right away. We would stay there again.

Beautiful view. Communication with the property owner was great! Property was a little difficult to access with the gravel driveway being steep with sharp turns. Need a 4-wheel drive to get up easily. Due to wild fires before our trip, couldn’t access trails on the property with the debris and trees blocking. Enjoyed the pool table and darts over all. The short trip to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge area was also a huge perk. Really enjoyed the area!
We came up from Arkansas for thanksgiving. The cabin is tucked away and very nice. Short 15 minutes into Pigeon Forge. Owner was responsive and checked frequently. We had a bear come in the final morning and check the porch out as well. Awesome stay, recommend.
Around 15 years ago my wife and I ran into high school friends of ours in Asheville NC . For the next 15 years we talked about going back to the mountains together. Finally this year we did. Our stay in The Owl’s Nest made our long awaited trip so wonderful!
The owls nest was amazing. We went for our honeymoon. The owner gave me his cell and communicated throughout our stay, making sure everything was perfect! We have already started planning when to go back …. Before our anniversary!!!! We loved it there. Also, you are 25 minutes or less from anything you would want to do.
This was our second time to stay at this property in Shagbark and we had another amazing week. Host is wonderful and very responsive! Property is clean with amazing views- even saw 2 different bears during our stay! Highly recommend!
We came down for our 10 year anniversary and enjoyed our stay. We wanted something secluded and this was good for that. The Owls nest was a great cabin to stay at and the owner was very nice! We will definitely book again!
The cabin was beautiful, clean & had everything we needed. Kids enjoyed playing pool & darts. The trail behind the cabin was an added bonus. This was our first visit to the area, so I wasn't sure what to expect. If you are looking for a secluded, clean cabin the Owls Nest is perfect.
The cabin is super cute and cozy! Its perfect for 2 couples! Misha is amazing and helped with everything we asked for. The driveway to the cabin is kinda crazy however. You NEED a 4x4 to make it up the drive, as the limestone is wearing away and slippery in the rain. The air conditioner did have trouble keeping up in the heat of the day but it cooled off quickly once the sun went down. The cabin is super private with no other cabins in sight which was amazing!! We did have a bear come and visit us one evening while we were enjoying the hot tub!! We also had a few turkeys walk down the trail. Overall, we would definitely book this cabin again!
Was clean, beds were soft and comfortable, hot tub was awesome nice to have a washer and dryer there the view is beautiful cabin is beautiful the only thing i hated was the drive way to the cabin it was horrible had a problem with the air conditioning they fixed it right away would definitely love to come back
We stayed 6 wonderful nights at the Owls Nest and had the most amazing time! Mikhail is a wonderful host! So attentive to all our needs and very quick response! The sunsets are indescribable from the deck such awesome views! Very clean with all the amenities you could want! The property is breathtaking and secluded! I just can’t say enough about our time here! We will be back for sure! Even had a couple of curious bears! Thank you for sharing your home with us! Absolutely beautiful! May 2021
Nice place for our weekend stay! Got to spot a few bears during our stay driving in that was cool! But driveway I will warn may need awd or 4x4 it (we had that)! Very private perfect to escape it all!
Loved this cabin!! It was the first time we have rented a cabin and it was amazing. Very private and beautiful views! Watched the sunset from the swing on the front porch and at night you can turn off all the lights and stargaze. The inside was beautiful and loved the fireplaces. Beds were comfortable. We didn’t want to leave! The manager Makhail was very nice and made sure everything was going good with our stay. Very easy check in process. Can’t wait to come back!
The cabin was almost exactly what we expected. Very clean and comfortable. The host was very helpful throughout our entire stay, making sure we had what we needed & answered any questions I had immediately. The drive up the mountain was a bit scarier than I imagined (first timer) but made the trip even more fun! Only a short distance away from Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg!
Absolutely amazing property. Stunning views. Very clean house. Host is very helpful and very fast at responding. Per other guests, the road to get there is a bit steep but well worth the journey. I’ll definitely be back.
Really enjoyed the stay in the Owls Nest Cabin. We were on top of the mountain. Road was a little crooked but we had a 4 wheel drive pickup that helped a little. Had a great stay. Loved it . Charles Pulley
