Enjoyed the view

We loved our stay at this property. The fact that the doors open up to the pool was awesome. We loved our mornings with the doors open to the breeze. The hilltop views are wonderful both daytime and night. Very spacious where we didn’t feel all on top of each other.

Centrally located. Beautiful garden pool area.

We enjoyed our stay at Het Cathaus The place was centrally located close to Wilhhemstad for the nightlife and accessible to beaches in the north (about 45 minutes) and to the south as well (about 20 minutes). The grounds are very nice with a new BBQ, great pool and gardens to sit and enjoy. We were a bit disappointed with the loud construction going on in the house immediately next door overlooking the pool. Thank you Marianne for your great responsiveness answering all our questions. We would love to return to this place and to Curaçao. Ajo!

Awesome property, great hosts!

The property was perfect for my extended family, with separate bathrooms making it easy to share the spaces. The living area, patio and pool were in constant use, and the location on a hill provided great views and a constant breeze, which is very desirable for Curacao. Even my local family were impressed and wanted to spend time with us there. The location is centrally located with a 15-20 minute drive to all points of interest, and within minutes of a number of groceries stores and shopping. If you're looking for a true Curacao experience, this is the place to be. The hosts are gracious and very responsive. Any issues were immediately attended to. Thanks to them for a great visit!

Four generation vacation

Lovely villa. Host very welcoming. Supplies in the fridge on arrival, eggs, butter, bread, ham and cheese as well as beer and wine. Host visited on first night for a welcome drink. After that, although they live upstairs, they left us on our own but were responsive to any issues. Had an issue with one of the showers they called plumber right away and it was fixed quickly. The bedrooms and bathrooms are spacious, beds are comfortable, we were provided with plenty of towels. Supplies also provided for our 2 year old grandson – high chair, travel bed. The kitchen is well equipped but quite small. There is a four burner stove top, a microwave with many features, a rice cooker and an airfryer. We made most of our meals at the villa and had what we needed. Because the kitchen is small only one person can work in there at a time. In the pictures, you can see how the villa opens right up to the pool. It looks beautiful and it is very nice to sit inside by the pool. This set up, though, did not work well with a toddler. We had to keep the big windows closed to make sure our grandson did not fall in the pool. The pool is an even 5 feet in depth. Also there are no real steps to get in or out of the pool. There is a ledge with a grab bar. Anybody with mobility issues or limited upper body strength will have difficulty getting in and out of the pool. My 78 year old mother needed help to get in and out even though she is in fairly good shape. Still great to have the pool.

Appartement situé sous la résidence des propriétaires. Nous avions l'impression d'être seuls sur les lieux mais en cas de besoins, les propriétaires sont présents, disponibles et serviables. Accueil chaleureux. Je recommande cet appartement.

Born on Bali (Indonesia) with Netherlands nationality, Marianne Cats, spent her life in countries throughout Asia (Indonesia & Hong Kong), East Africa (Kenya, Tanzania & Uganda), South America (Brasil, Ecuador & Surinam) and since 1985, at that time Netherlands Antilles. During her abode in Brazil and later in Ecuador, her interest in drawing and painting developed, resulting in exhibitions in Guayaquil and Quito. A later period again in Africa (Mozambique and South Africa) from 1980 until 1984 provided further subjects for Marianne's work.
In 1985, when Curacao became her home, she was absorbed by the colorful architectonic beauty of street panoramas and idyllic scenes as well as its history. Being inspired as a painter as well as a working architect, she translated her visions of the Antillean past into watercolors and acrylic paintings.
