About Lake Como Properties
We moved to Lake Como over 20 years ago from a dull and rainy Lancashire and have never looked back. We love it here - the people, the food, the weather. We love to cycle, walk in the mountains and swim in the lake or the pool.
Lake Como Properties purchased this Villa in 2009
Why Lake Como Properties chose Dizzasco
We spent 7 years searching for the perfect plot. We chose this area because of the tranquility, the panoramic views and the all-day sunshine. The villa takes full advantage of the superb views with large windows and light, modern furnishings. You will find all the home comforts, a fully equipped kitchen, comfy sofas and plenty of space. We love it and we know you will too. The views are truly panoramic. The location as peaceful and unspoilt as you would expect from a tiny hamlet, yet within a 3 minute drive of the bustling lake side village of Argegno, where you can find everything from fine dining to cheap pizzas, great wine bars with free food at aperitivi time every day and a lake side lido with open air pool, where you can soak up the sun, if you can drag yourself away from your own lake view pool.
What makes this Villa unique
The location is truly panoramic and very peaceful, being located on a steep hillside. As well as stunning lake views and all that Lake Como has to offer, you also have the backdrop of majestic mountains. You are only a 3 minute drive ( or a 15 minute walk downhill) from the lakeside and the quaint village of Argegno with plenty of choice of restaurants and wine bars. You can get the Cable car up from Argegno to Pigra and then walk back down the mule track directly to the villa. There are many stunning walks from directly outside the property - take the old mule track up to Pigra and then onto the Alpe di Colonno and up to the highest points overlooking lake Como withe mountain restaurants and stunning views.

Property was as beautiful in person as listed in the pictures. Hosts were responsive and helpful from the moment we booked (several months in advance) until the day we left.
The bottom floor was not as clean as the other two floors. It smelled damp and moldy. Because of this, no one slept down there. Electricity was out due to a storm and the recommended fix did not work. Host contacted an electrician to come out to fix ASAP. We were left without power for about 16 hours.
Overall, nice stay. Not five stars, but we still had a good time.
My family of 7 Andy my daughter had an amazing time. Gorgeous villa!! Highly recommend l!
Thank you for taking the time to review Villa Lilla. We are so pleased that you all had a lovely time.
Villa Lilla - A picture-perfect holiday!
We have traveled around the world - from backpacking to 5-star hotels - but the week we spent at Villa Lilla will go down as one of our top (possibly THE top) family holidays ever. The villa is perfect for a family or group of friends: a kitchen ready for cooks; plenty of space for individual privacy or gatherings; great ambiance, ventilation and light. And then there's the location: set upon a flat lot overlooking the town of Argegno, Villa Lilla has incredible views of Lake Como and the surrounding mountains, without the noise that comes from being directly in the lake towns. It was the perfect base camp for us to venture out and explore the region for several hours before coming home and basking by the pool for late afternoon sun and drinks. The hosts, Beverly and Jonny, were wonderfully helpful and responsive, making sure everything was in top shape and providing us with great tips for making the most of our holiday. The drive up the twisty road to the villa is a bit challenging the first couple of times, but it gets easy (and fun) after a few practice runs and we appreciated being a little removed from the city center, especially since we have little kids. Grocery stores are within a few minutes drive, there are plenty of fruit/veg stands, and Argegno is a 15-minute walk through very quaint side streets. For a truly great morning hike, walk straight up the mountain road for 3k to the town of Pigra...it's worth the climb. Overall, our time at Villa Lilla was like a dream vacation that you read about in a travel mag. As with most parents of small children, relaxation during a family vacation is elusive. But we were able to truly rejuvenate during our time at the villa. It was an incredible week and we would not hesitate for a moment to recommend staying at this beautiful property!
Thank you so much for your lovely comments. we are so pleased that the holiday was a success for you all

There are several other lidos within easy driving distance with pools and sunbathing area as well as restaurant facilities e.g. Villa Olmo, Cadenabbio and Menaggio.

Como - 15 minutes by car or ferry
Bellagio - 10 minutes by ferry
A popular destination for tourists, Argegno is situated in a large inlet on the western shore of Lake Como at the mouth of the Val d’Intelvi. It has a pleasant climate and is mild even in the winter months. With its’ beautiful panoramic location, one can see from the headland of Bellagio to the north and as far as Nesso towards the south. Argegno offers a surprising amount of facilities for a quaint lakeside fishing village – 5 good restaurants/pizzerias, 2 excellent wine bars (Enoteca and Bar Colombo), serving free snacks at aperitivo time every day. There are 2 banks with cash points and a small store. And you won’t be able to resist Andrea’s home-made ice creams (made with whatever is available fresh that day, including cucumber!). The scent of the bakery will draw you up the narrow alleyways to find fresh brioche (croissants) and bread, baked daily on the premises by Louisa. If that wasn’t enough, the village also now boasts a beautician and 2 hairdressers! Argegno is also within striking distance of all Lake Como’s treasures, as it is a main bus and ferry stop-off point for the rest of the lake. Villa Balbianello (Star Wars & James Bond) is just around the corner, Villa Carlotta a short ferry ride away, as are Bellagio, Menaggio and Varenna – get a centre lake ticket and visit all three in one day. The village is certainly of Roman origin, as it owes its’ name to the consul Publio Cesio Archigene. At one time Argegno was part of a defensive system, which extended as far as the ancient villa of Lenno and the Isola Comacina to obstruct the passage of invaders.
