Detached Holiday Home in Outeiro, Nr. Ansiao/Pombal /Penela, Silver Coast, Portugal - Superb Nearby River Beaches, Restaurants Bars And Shops 5 Minutes Away. The pool and the villa are for your exclusive use. They are not shared by any other party!
This detached villa with private swimming pool is near to excellent local facilities including Aqua Parks & many superb river beaches. It stands in a quarter acre garden of immense character with huge limestone rocks + ancient olive, fig and bay trees providing shade for long lazy days with the fridge close to hand! The 6 metre ‘Wall of Glass’ in the lounge opens onto a full length balcony with breathtaking views over the garden to the hills beyond. The villa occupies a private and peaceful location on the edge of the village of Outeiro yet is only a 5 minute drive to shops, bars, restaurants & a 40 minute journey west through a beautiful landscape of vines, orchards & olive groves to the stunning resorts of The Silver Coast. You can also venture into hidden valleys and bathe at one of the many river beaches for which this area is famous, or away into the mountains where stunning views seem endless, ancient villages cling to steep hillsides and towns nestle beneath medieval castles.

Swimming Pool environment, Garden & Barbecue:

Imagine…. relaxing on a warm summer day. Water cascades gently down a huge limestone rock, mixing with the soothing sounds of birdsong & the murmur of rustling leaves from a nearby bay tree….

To maintain the beauty of our natural landscape we worked closely with a local pool construction company to create a special environment - peaceful & tranquil. The family friendly pool area has 2 pools.

Our main pool is 8m long & 4m wide (26 feet long & 13 feet wide) Depth is variable 1.1m to 1.5m (3ft 6 inches to 5 feet) & is accessed via steps into the shallow end or swimming pool ladder into the deep end.

From here you can watch your children splashing around in their own separate, shallow 2.5 x 1.5m (8 feet x 5 feet) pool.

Both pools are fresh & pure, cleaned throughout the day by our filtration system.

Child safety is paramount. To achieve maximum security without spoiling the beauty of the pool we have installed a 1.1m high toughened glass safety barrier with a lockable gate.

FAMILY FRIENDLY, SIMPLE TO UNDERSTAND PRICING POLICY. Our children are now adults but we recall holidays we couldn’t afford because of very high prices during school holidays. We therefore decided not to inflate our prices to coincide with specific school holiday dates. For example, you won't pay more for a week at Easter during March or April than you would for any other week during those months. Inflated prices make it impossible for many families to enjoy a special holiday. Compare our prices; simple to understand & they won’t make you feel like you have been robbed!

Finally, for your peace of mind, Casa Bedrock has been awarded the Alojamento Local license number 19381/AL This is your assurance that we comply with the latest safety standards & regulations.

Had a fantastic week here, villa was perfect for a family of 4 (kids aged 7 and 5). The property was clean and well kept, the pool was large and great for the kids to play in and the garden was beautifully landscaped with plenty of shady spots to sit with a book. Hosts were very helpful and the check in and out process was nice and simple.

This property is tucked away in a tiny village, is beautifully quiet, has every amenity you want with a lovely garden, BBQ and pool for outdoor living. We were very happy here, and could have stayed longer without any problem! The countryside around is very scenic, and a short trip into the mountains provides spectacular views. An excellent venue!

We had a wonderful vacation at Casa Bedrock. We didn't lack anything and enjoyed the mostly very good weather, the quiet location, the clean pool and the very nice and well-equipped house that left nothing to be desired. We visited beautiful destinations from the guidebook every day and then cooled down and relaxed at the pool. The hosts were always very quick and friendly to answer any questions we had. We can recommend the property without reservation if you want to spend a quiet and relaxing holiday.

Very nice property in a small village. Great location for day trips to many sites. House was well maintained and well organized with everything you need.. property was stunning . The villa is very spacious and in a quiet location. The views are lovely. The villa is solidly built with thick walls which keep the space cool. This also means that there was a slight odour inside the kitchen cupboards. The pool was well used by our family. We used the guide book a few times to explore the surrounding area A car is essential to explore the area. The villa was generally clean, but the oven needed attention. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend. Thank you

Perfect Peaceful Location

We are just home from a 2 week stay at Casa Bedrock & already want to return!! The area is very peaceful, perfect for relaxing. Our children loved the pool and spent nearly all their time in it. The villa itself is so well equipped. Wifi was great & kept everyone happy as well as lots of English tv channels. Air con in the bedrooms was fantastic & the villa itself stayed so cool even after day's hitting 30 degrees. The kitchen is well equipped & was easy to cook meals & with the added bonus of a dishwasher, or if you want to eat out there are many lovely restaurants within 5/10 min drive. Shops/supermarkets/banks etc 5/10 min drive away. The guidebook the owner provides or as we called 'the bible' was just amazing. It documents walks, shops, restaurants, days out etc etc, we referred to it every day! If you're thinking of booking, DO IT, you won't be disappointed!!

Stunning views and a pool to die for!

A beautiful villa with views over the countryside which never grow old. Loved lying at the gorgeous pool area while butterflies and birds kept us company. The villa has absolutely everything you need and the extras like books/games/dvds as well as british tv channels were all appreciated. Good bedding and super air con made sleeping easy. The property was spotless and communication with Dave was superb. Every email or call was answered almost instantly! Dave provides the most amazing guide book which we used every day. It is very obvious Dave cares about his guests and thinks of everything. There is a well stocked Intermarche in Ansiao, a Chinese shop which sells everything and a handful of restaurants within a 5 to 10 min drive plus a few even closer.The prices of meals in this area are ridiculously cheap and of great quality. Can thoroughly recommend the property and the area and wished we had been able to stay longer. Thanks for a lovely time.

Fantastic villa with a great pool

This was our first visit to Portugal and staying at the Casa Bedrock just made our visit extra special. The owners, David and Corinne are so lovely and kept us updated about our planned visit and provided us with a very detailed guidebook of the area which David had written himself. We have stayed in a few villas over the years and no owner has gone to such detail ensuring our visit was extra special. There was even milk and bread provisions for when we arrived! The kids loved the pool area and we spent the first three days at the house and enjoying everything it had to offer. When the kids had had too much sun they played the board games provided and watched the entire Harry Potter series of DVDs also provided with many other films! Without the guidebook we wouldn't have discovered the river beaches or the amazing San Simaou swimming 'pools' a mountainous relaxing river beach with fresh water swimming pools. We met some lovely people here but more than anything as a family we loved being at the villa. We will definitely be returning again but if you're reading this review wondering if this Villa is worth a booking... Book it ! You won't be disappointed in either the villa or its owners! A propriedade é ainda melhor do que as fotos ou a descrição fazem antever. A casa tem tudo o que precisamos, espaçosa, limpa, bom serviço de wi-fi, sistema multimedia de entretenimento, ar condicionado. O espaço exterior bem cuidado, nada a não ser verde à nossa volta, zona da piscina impecável. Guarda sóis, camas, brinquedos para as crianças. Quanto aos proprietários, embora não estivessem presentes, foram sempre comunicando durante a semana, tendo deixado com as chaves, um guia da casa e dos pontos de interesse e actividades que se podem fazer na zona. The amazing Casa Bedrock!!!

From the photos on the website , we were already very excited about our holiday! When we arrived at the Villa, it was exactly like we hoped it would be, and the photos were a true representation, it was beautiful! The pool is a massive plus point in the hot weather, and it's great for the kids. My son loved it and used it every day! I would definitely recommend a stay at this villa to anyone considering it.

Stayed here with my wife and daughter Although there are other properties nearby, once in, you feel as though your completely on your own Wonderful view from the garden and pool The owner David has produced a guide with easy to reach excursions, local restaurants and just about everything else, real local knowledge At time of writing prices for eating out at the local restaurant were really good value - eg 3 course meal for two with a litre of wine coming in at 16 euros - and this included bread and olives! Friendly locals and beautiful countryside We ran into the couple who were in Casa Bedrock the week before us - they have been back every year for over 10 years - I can fully understand why

My wife Corinne and I have lived in Skipton in North Yorkshire for more than 30 years and have 2 sons & 2 grandchildren. We're surrounded by beautiful countryside so when we decided to look for a property abroad we were very hard to please. Like many people, we'd watched countless episodes of 'A Place in the Sun' during long winter evenings but never believed we would do anything about it. We initially looked in Spain but whilst visiting Portugal in 2007, we fell in love with this area, it's scenery, tranquility, friendly locals and of course the great weather. We wanted a property which was detached and private but not isolated, with great views, local amenities and good outside spaces. The property had to have character but also be modern, not much to ask then!

Why they chose this property

Although we like the sea, we also love the hills and river beaches. This location provides easy access to everything we and our family enjoy including the fabulous Silver Coast. We saw Casa Bedrock and the views from the garden on the Internet whilst it was being built in 2008. It is located in a beautiful conservation area where planning laws are strict. The developer takes great pride in his work and can only build on the footprint of earlier dwellings or renovate existing buildings which he does superbly and with great care.
Casa Bedrock was designed by a local architect who has created a unique property, even managing to incorporate some limestone features whilst retaining as much of the original character and old walls as possible.

What makes this property unique

Peace and quiet, great barbecues, family friendly pool area with lockable barrier, good local restaurants and lots of places to see and things to do, including a few walks, are what we require from a holiday. We work hard and play hard and therefore need a place to which we can retreat and feel at home. This is high on our list of essentials and we truly believe we have achieved it with Casa Bedrock. We love our 'get away from it all' villa and know that you will too!
