About Yvonne Rowland
We are Peter & Yvonne from the UK. No 17 The Harbour is our 2nd home and we love both our house and the island of St Lucia. We have lovingly furnished and equipped our house to a high standard as we want it to feel like home from home for both ourselves and any guests. We have received some great comments from guests and have a number of returning guests. We have three grown up children and small grandchildren who also love the house & pool, and particularly like the fact that everything in Rodney Bay, including the Beach, is within easy walking distance and that there is a great selection of bars, shops, cafes and restaurants.
Yvonne Rowland purchased this House in 2007
Why Yvonne Rowland chose Rodney Bay
We have sailed in the Caribbean for many years and of all the islands decided that St Lucia was the most perfect. It is green, volcanic, stunning scenery, full of history and a great sailing destination. The people are also some of the most friendly we have come across in the Caribbean and the choice of restaurants and bars is brilliant. We chose Rodney Bay as we wanted a property with a private dock for our boat and wanted to be within walking distance of the beach, shops, bars and restaurants. We also wanted to buy from a reputable builder. We have not been disappointed with either the house or the location - in fact every time we go we like it more!!
What makes this House unique
The house is set in an oasis behind secure electric gates. Beautiful tranquility overlooking the Harbour but still in the centre of the resort so great access to all amenities. The house is convenient for walking to the supermarket, shops, cafes, bars, restaurants, beach plus taxis are readily available if you want to explore further afield. Hire cars are also available close by but are generally unnecessary. Water Taxis will come to the dock in front of the house making transfer to the Marina, Pigeon Island, The Landings etc very easy. There are only 25 houses/apartments on the complex and often many are unoccupied so the pool and gardens are quiet. Our property is managed by Tropical Villas St Lucia and they ensure all our guests are well looked after.

Great time in Rodney Bay
The property was exactly as advertised. Illtyd, Ester and Victor were all very friendly and professional. Our weather was perfect and all of the shopping, dining and entertainment were right outside our gate. We went to Massey store almost every day for beer, wine, snacks and staples. It was directly across the street in the mall.
We dove the reef near Anse Chastenet on three days and went to the rainforest on one day. Beautiful! I hope to go back sometime. It was a truly enjoyable stay. Glenn Wotring
Hi Glenn, so pleased that you had a wonderful time. Thank you for your kind feedback on our house and staff - I will pass on your comments. It would be great to have you back at some point in the future. Wishing you all the very best, Yvonne
Beautiful and luxurious. High end villa with everything you need to have a wonderful vacation.
Outstanding villa, close to everything!
The villa on the Harbour is everything the listing says! Beautiful, relaxing view and very comfortable lodging, our back yard was the Harbour. The housekeeper Esther was wonderful and our concierge was super friendly, helpful in scheduling tours and easily accessible. Supermarkets, shopping and buses are all a 5 minute walk away, which is good because cabs are expensive on the island. A beach is about 10 minute walk but we rented a boat to go to nicer Pigeon Island beach. Rodney bay is over an hour ride from the airport so arrange for transportation through a company called Quikkab and you will save a LOT of money!
THANK YOU YVONNE for welcoming our Girls Trip to your lovely abode!
Hi Val, many thanks for your positive review and kind feed back on Esther and Illtyd; I am so pleased you and your friends had a great 'Girl's Trip'. We would love to have you back one day. All the very best, Yvonne
Wonderful place to stay for a great vacation
We stayed at The Harbour #17 for 10 days in early January 2020. The house was clean, comfortable, nicely decorated with all the amenities that we could have asked for. Having the sliding doors open onto a lovely small patio, grassy area and dock in Rodney Bay was an added bonus each day with my morning coffee. Our college-aged kids had their own comfortable bedrooms with ensuite bathroom. Shopping for groceries and other items was only a 5 minute walk away.
The concierge, Illtyd, was easy to contact, made great suggestions for outings and places to eat and made reservations for activities as needed. Esther, who kept the place clean, and made some wonderful dinners for us, was friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to work with.
Overall, #17 The Harbour was a great find that added to a wonderful visit to St. Lucia.
Hi John, Thank you ever so much for your kind comments. We are delighted that everything was good for you and we met your expectations. Sounds like you had a great trip to St Lucia - hope you can return one day :-) I will pass on the lovely feedback to Illtyd and Esther. Wishing you and your family all the very best for the future. Kind regards, Yvonne
Excellent Townhouse and Location
Beautiful and well kept property and grounds. Beautiful inside and out-the pictures represent the beauty of this townhome. Lots of little extras to make your stay easier-spices if you want to cook, beach blankets, towels, coolers, even a football. Great location in the heart of Rodney Bay-easy walking distance to shops and restaurants and the beach. Yvonne makes the whole process easy from reservation to check out. There is a local concierge who will meet you to answer questions and tell you about local attractions and restaurants (and can help you make reservations before arrival). She is available to answer questions during your stay as well. There is also a housekeeper to welcome you and keep the place tidy. An excellent place to stay in Rodney Bay!
Hi Jennifer, Many thanks for your lovely review - we are so pleased you had a great stay. I will make sure I let Esther & Illtyd see your comments. Wishing you all the very best for 2020 and hope we can welcome you back one day. Kind regards, Yvonne
The island is 238sq (616sqkm), 27 miles long, 14 miles wide with a combination of high mountains, forests, low lying lands and beaches. A central mountain range runs the length of the island, with peaks ranging between 1000 and 3145 feet. Forests dominate the mountains, while jasmine, scarlet chenille and wild orchids provide splashes of colour to the lush green slopes. The two towering volcanic cones on the SW coast, Gros Piton (797m) and Petit Piton (750m) are one of the Caribbean’s most famous landmarks. The volcanic origin of the island provides visitors with an opportunity to visit a “drive-in volcano” and dip in the therapeutic Sulphur springs. Scuba Diving/Sailing superb.

The famous Reduit Beach is pure paradise; soft golden sand facing West into the calm, warm Caribbean Sea usually offering its gentle sea breeze. The sunset's are stunning and the water is warm all year round. The island is a treasure trove of beautiful and unspoilt beaches and coves - explore by land and/or sea. There’s also lots to do if you’re the adventurous type. You can explore on foot, by mountain/quad bike, or even on horseback. Taxis, hire cars and day trips are all readily available.
There are 2 airports. The smaller domestic airport is about 15 mins by car. The international airport is in the south of the island and about 1 hour 20 mins by car, the drive is quiet, scenic and and provides a breathtaking introduction to the island. Alternatively helicopter transfers are available. Time difference, GMT -4 hours. BA & Virgin both operate direct flights from the UK. There is no need for a hire car when staying at the villa unless you want to explore further a field.
The villa is just off the main road parallel to the beach. The shops and supermarkets are within 200 yards and the bars and restaurants are in both the heart of the village and along the main road. The beach is a 10 minute walk away. The Marina with its bars and restaurants is 5 mins by either land or water taxi. Rodney Bay has a wide choice of bars and restaurants with live music and plenty going on. Pigeon Island is 10/15 mins by land/water taxi. The capital, Castries is about 15/20 minutes by car/taxi depending on traffic.
The yacht marina on the other side of the Harbour has a cluster of shops, cafes, bars and a bank (with ATM). It is easy to hire a quality car (although not necessary as all local amenities are within walking distance) - a temporary driving licence is obtained from the police station. Water Taxis can be arranged to pick you up from the Villa to take you to the famous Pigeon Island heritage resort and beach.
