Holiday Home in Kington, Welsh Borders, Herefordshire, England - Peaceful Location, Yet Plenty of Interest Near By.
About Marilyn Kelly
Peter and Marilyn Kelly enjoy running their small holding of 20 acres and looking after the small flock of Welsh Mountain Badger Face sheep. Lambing in late March is always challenging but fun and we are sure we have the prettiest lambs in Herefordshire. We are happy for guests to bring their dog and enjoy the walk through the woodland, where no sheep graze, so dogs can run free. We attract birds by hanging feeders around the accommodation, the woodpeckers and nuthatches being of particular interest. Our land is of special interest for wild flora and we try to improve the habitat for the wild animals. This year we intend to create a scape and hope to encourage curlews to nest here. We are always pleased to meet guests and share our peaceful and wonderful environment..

Comfortable, very warm and in a beautiful location.
Wonderful peaceful place to stay, watcing the birds at the balcony and fabulous views over the wood.
The accommodation was of a high standard, all very comfortable. The views are spectacular from the bedroom window across to Hay Bluff and from the balcony, over the woodland towards the Malvern Hills. Thought had been given to provide all that is needed for a short stay. The hosts were very helpful giving information about the local walks and places to visit.
We plan to return, there is so much to do in the area.
We are always pleased to share this lovely area with guests who enjoy it. You will be welcome any time you wish to visit.
Lovely relaxing stay
We needed a quiet, relaxing break and that is exactly what we got staying here. The property is in a beautiful location with countryside all around. Leominster for the nearest National Trust places was nearby and there is some stunning scenery as well as pretty villages also nearby. The property has a very homely feel and the owners were very welcoming and hospitable. We were very comfortable and commented regularly about how quiet and peaceful it was. Would highly recommend
We very much enjoyed meeting these visitors and hearing that they enjoyed sharing the peace and quiet of this special place with us. The accommodation was left in perfect condition and they would be very welcome to stay with us again.
Had a lovely three days here, and it is a part of the country we have never explored before. The cottage was great. Very clean and everything you might need for a few nights away. We took our two dogs and there was a track on the farm that you could walk them off the lead. There was a variety of birds that visited the bird feeder, which was great. Finally, the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Overall excellent if you want a peaceful base for exploring the area.
We can highly recommend these guests and we are always delighted when visitors enjoy our beautiful surroundings. The barn was left clean and tidy and they would be welcome back any time.
This is a beautiful little place which is very peaceful and has everything in the apartment that you could need.
Beautiful accommodation in a stunning location with super hosts
If you are looking for a comfortable and quiet place with great views and are looking to get away from a busy lifestyle, ad we were. Then Keepers is the place for you. Marilyn and Peter are lovely people and great hosts. They have clearly put a lot of effort into providing first class, comfortable accommodation. There is a lovely balcony overlooking woods and distant fields . A bird feeder is attached to the balcony which was continuously visited by all kinds of birds. We spent hours sitting and watching them and trying to identify them from the books provided. We absolutely loved our weekend stay at Keepers and are really looking forward to a longer stay. We really feel that we have found an absolute jewel in Keepers.
Peter and I very much enjoyed having Bob and Clare to stay. They left the accommodation in an excellent condition, very clean and tidy. It is always a pleasure to have visitors to stay who enjoy the scenery and birds visiting the balcony as much as us. We very much hope that Bob and Clare will visit us again.
Keepers is in a beautiful area where there are many opportunities for walking and sight seeing. Following parts of Offa's Dyke is always an attraction.
Kington golf club welcome visitors to the highest 18 hole course in England with truly spectacular views. A friendly riding centre can lead you over the hills on friendly forward going horses. The River Wye offers a wonderful canoe and meander down stream while you look out for kingfishers.
We are close to the fascinating Hay on Wye with its book shops and interesting markets towns along the Borders and the historic town of Hereford with its beautiful Cathedral.
Keepers is approximately just under 4 hours drive from London and under 2 hours from Birmingham.
The village of Huntington is 3 miles from Kington and 8 from Hay on Wye.
