After our second stay at l'Amaridou, we're still hungry for more! This is a beautiful house, tucked away in the middle of the vines with views over the surrounding countryside in all directions. No noise, no neighbours, it's the ideal place for un-winding. Yet it's close enough to the surrounding Provencale villages (La Cadière, Le Beausset), and to the bigger sea-side towns (Bandol, St Cyr, Toulon) not to be remote or isolated. It's at the end of a fairly rough dirt track, part of the charm of the place for us, but maybe an "obstacle" for others!
The house is airy, spacious, and well-equipped - though most of our time was spent on the big terrace or enjoying the pool. There are many opportunities for visiting the local attractions; for amateurs of wine, there are many of the very well-known Rosé caves within a ston's throw of the house. Access to the autoroute is easy which makes Toulon, Marseille, Aix, Nice and so on all very easy to get to. And of course ALL of the rest of Provence!
The owners, Claude and Anthony have always been very helpful and have done everything to make our stays enjoyable. One of the neighbours (about 1 km away!) is in charge of looking after the changeovers and is on hand in case of "emergencies". The house was clean and we had no emergenies, so all Ok on that front.
To sum up, this is OUR ideal Holiday home. Looking forward to our next stay.
