About this property

L’Amiradou, a contemporary secluded villa with magnificent views

L’Amiradou ( le Belvedere in Provençal ) is an easy and airy summer house located in the vineyards of La Cadiere, the Home of the famous Bandol wines . With sweeping views of the different villages and Provence hills and no neighbours or passing traffic, it is a truly peaceful and restful place to unwind. The house was built for an architect in the 1970s and has been designed to be an easy place to stay and enjoy vacationing. It’s east west orientation spacious ground floor living spaces opening to 2 large terraces all with wonderful views. There is a ground floor en-suite double bedroom, a first floor double bedroom and two other first floor twin bedrooms, also a first floor seating /TV area connecting to a contemporary elevated balcony overlooking the valley. All bedrooms are air-conditioned. There are large windows everywhere so even though the house is nestled in a lovely grove, it has an extremely open feeling. In the extensive grounds there is an olive grove, boules pitch, a picnic table hidden under pine trees, a ping-pong table and an above ground wood clad small swimming pool, all welcoming during hot summer days. The house is also a perfect place to go and discover the area and its beautiful coast, famous wine properties and villages. The centre of La’Cadiere is only five minutes drive away, Bandol and its beaches 15 minutes drive. Be aware that the last part of the track up to the house, about 500 m , is not suitable for low sport cars and rather bumpy , however, normal cars are able to reach the house if driven slow slowly and carefully .

Prachtige locatie

Belle villa, vue imprenable

Heerlijke vakantie woning

Locatie is erg goed bevallen.

We have recently returned home following our second stay at L'Amiradou, and look forward to returning again. This modern, spacious, and very light house sits alone at the top of a steep track nestled among the vineyards..The slow bumpy ride to the house is so worthwhile, as the views that await you are stunning! Across the beautiful vineyards, you can see the medieval villages of Le Castellet, and La Cadiere.. The terrace at the front of the house, is a wonderful place to sit day or evening to view the changing light across the landscape.. There are also two terraces at the back of the house, so plenty of choice if you need to escape the intense heat of the sun during the day. The house is well equipped, clean and very comfortable. We were joined by our adult children for 1 week, and had plenty of space. They enjoyed the table tennis table, and the newly laid boules court.. The pool is an ideal size for cooling off, or just to relax and watch the view. The sunsets each evening really were a highlight! The villages of La Cadiere, and Le Castellet are easily accessible, as is the small town of Le Beaussett.. We kept our boat in Bandol port which is only a 20min drive away... So plenty of beaches within a few minutes drive. The key holders Didier and his wife Corrine are charming and very helpful.. If you enjoy relaxing in total seclusion this is the perfect hideaway..

THE place to stay!

After our second stay at l'Amaridou, we're still hungry for more! This is a beautiful house, tucked away in the middle of the vines with views over the surrounding countryside in all directions. No noise, no neighbours, it's the ideal place for un-winding. Yet it's close enough to the surrounding Provencale villages (La Cadière, Le Beausset), and to the bigger sea-side towns (Bandol, St Cyr, Toulon) not to be remote or isolated. It's at the end of a fairly rough dirt track, part of the charm of the place for us, but maybe an "obstacle" for others! The house is airy, spacious, and well-equipped - though most of our time was spent on the big terrace or enjoying the pool. There are many opportunities for visiting the local attractions; for amateurs of wine, there are many of the very well-known Rosé caves within a ston's throw of the house. Access to the autoroute is easy which makes Toulon, Marseille, Aix, Nice and so on all very easy to get to. And of course ALL of the rest of Provence! The owners, Claude and Anthony have always been very helpful and have done everything to make our stays enjoyable. One of the neighbours (about 1 km away!) is in charge of looking after the changeovers and is on hand in case of "emergencies". The house was clean and we had no emergenies, so all Ok on that front. To sum up, this is OUR ideal Holiday home. Looking forward to our next stay.
