Apartment in Perpignan, Languedoc Roussillon, France - In the Heart of the Ancient Old Town
Hi I am a sports loving,Francophile living in Hertfordshire but originally from Yorkshire who believes in the maxim Location Location Location when it comes to owning property. I am the Chief Ops Officer for a law firm with 3 children in their early twenties. I have owned the apartment for 4 years since which time improving my O level standard French has posed a constant challenge.

Why Owner chose Saint-Jean
To me, Languedoc in general and Perpignan in particular is a great place to spend time. It benefits from the Mediterranean climate yet with ready access to the Pyrenees. It is cheaper and more rustic but to my mind every bit as appealing as the Cote D'Azur at the other end of the French Med. Transport links are good thanks to Ryanair, mainly through the growth of Girona and will soon be even better when the rail link to Barcelona is opened. The shabby chic nature of Perpignan itself with its cosmopolitan inhabitants and countless restaurants creates endless interest. The area is a hotbed of both forms of rugby and a short drive or bus ride away are the stunning expanse of glorious beaches at Canet.
What makes this Apartment unique
The apartment is located in the pedestrian precinct that links the two main squares in the heart of the City. It is situated in a 19th century building along with three other apartments and has many of the features associated with traditional French design ie 10ft high ceilings in the main rooms yet other parts of the apartment via the kitchen and bathroom have been completely redesigned and modernised. It is remarkably quiet given that it is located in Perpignan's main shopping area. The locals say there are about 80 eateries within 10 mins walk.Fabulous France for all tastes.

City centre apartment
A spacious and very conveniently located apartment at a reasonable price. Could do with a bit of cleaning (oven, fridge, bath mats, sofa). Had a spot of trouble with the lock on the outside door to the street. Key does not turn properly, so every time we left we wondered whether we would be able to get back in.
We had a fantastic time staying in this flat in Perpignan. The flat itself has everything you need. It is modern and spacious in a truly stunning part of the city. We managed perfectly well without a car on public transport.
All contact with Jim and his assistant was efficient and informative.
We have all fallen in love with Perpignan and hope to return again some time.

Great apartmaent, excellent location!
We stayed for a week in this apartment from June 13-20th 2017. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions as was his assistant Deborah. We are a family of seven, and there was plenty of comfortable sleeping space. It was well equipped with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen. The location is excellent, on a very cute street with cafes, shops, and restaurants. About a fifteen minute walk from the train station and the bus station, we did this several times with our children ages 16, 15, 13, 10, and 8 without a problem. Our vacation was very manageable without a car rental. Our family had a wonderful time visiting Perpignan and the surrounding areas and this home made our stay relaxing and ,comfortable at the end of our long days exploring. Our only suggestion would be to add a few fans to the apartment for air circulation during the hot summer months. It was very warm during our visit, but cooled of nicely at night. The fans would help cool the apartment down a bit making it more comfortable to sleep. This is in no way a complaint, just a suggestion for future guests. Thank you for a great stay!

I am pleased Sean enjoyed the apartment so much especially as I am a rugby league nut myself. The apartment is wonderfully located in the city centre, perfect for drinking in the pre and post match atmosphere.
We have stayed in Perpignan before but this time staying in this apartment made our holiday perfect. The location couldn't have been better and the apartment itself had everything you could want
15 minutes by car; 25 minutes by bus.
Perpignan airport is 10 minutes away. Gerona (Spain) airport is 60 minutes away. Beziers Airport is approximately 50 minutes away. Perpignan Train station is 5 minutes away connecting to all major cities. There is also a good reliable bus service.
Being in the city there are supermarkets, shops, banks and all other amenities within walking distance.
