Myself and 5 friends had such a lovely relaxing weekend in this clean, comfortable property with amazing views! The hot tub was perfect. Chris was on hand with information of the area. We enjoyed a trip into Shaftesbury and walked down Gold Hill (Hovis advert). Excellent pub at the bottom of the hill, Ye Olde Two Brewers - lovely English and greek food.
We'd all definitely recommend this property and want to go back ASAP, although we might order some sunshine next time!
Had a really lovely stay in a very well appointed timber framed property. We weren't overlooked by the other 3 similar rental properties and could enjoy the hot tub in private.
The property itself had everything we needed, invoicing indoor and outdoor games, dishwasher, washing machine etc. The freezer is quite small in the built in fridge, but the hosts have provided an extra freezer that can be plugged in.
Lovely hosts who had the time to chat and we could even see the milking process in the farm. We had several cows give birth in the field next to us and it was lovely to see the newborn calves running around.
The only downside is being next to a field for cows there were quite a few flies so we had to keep the doors shut, but it didn't reduce our enjoyment of the property.
There's also a really decent sized shared grass area at the back of the properties that is perfect for sport and the games room is definitely worth a visit.
An excellent holiday venue with every facility. The hot tub at sunset is highly recommend.
An excellent experience of which the highlight has to be being able to watch the ‘ladies’ of the dairy herd giving birth in the field beside us and being able to pet the very friendly ‘girls’.who were as interested in us as we were in them.

Disappointing
Lovely property. Unfortunately the owner was very cold and charged us additional for clean up. We were 6 30year old women who left the place spotless, all the glasses washed up and left in the right places, used towels in the bath etc. So to get an email nit picking on minute bits and charging us additional for clean up was very unexpected. No wonder we were the only ones staying there. Very disappointing.

Short weekend stay
Lovely property you are meant to check in at 4pm we got there early at 3.30pm Chalet still being cleaned we quickly used a toilet after a long journey then went off for a drink to allow them to finish. Was a bit disappointed when arrived at 5.15pm to be told was was late for check in. Later she came to see us and this was resolved. Can’t fault property and hot tube. Located in very quiet rural area.
We couldn't have asked for more. The chalet was immaculate and had everything we needed. Christina was friendly and so helpful. The hot tub was fantastic and we had a great time

Fabulous chalet. Extremely clean and well organised.
Absolutely fab chalet. Great for family get together. Super hot tub with great view not over looked. Very quiet and peaceful. Large games room for the young and better for the oldies remembering their days at the youth club.table tennis. Table football air hockey. Plenty of laughing. The whole farm is a great place to recharge your batteries. Can not thank you enough Christina .

About the host

I married a farmer and we have two sons. I grew up in a near by town called Gillingham in Dorset so know the area very well. I have been married for 34 years and have lived at Stour Cross Farm for 30. I started doing B & B in 1991 in our farmhouse until my second son was born in 2001. Now I run 4 self catering holiday chalets in the grounds of the farm. I spend more time and money cleaning and refurbishing each chalet than I do in my own house but thoroughly enjoy it. It's so satisfying to know guests appreciate and have enjoyed their stay. The comments in the visitor books prove it. I love animals especially dogs but unfortunately we cannot accommodate pets because of the farm animals.
Why they chose this property
Guests who have stayed in Duncliffe chalet tell me they could quite easily live in this property. The open plan lounge kitchen/diner enables all the guests to interact with one another without being excluded whilst cooking dinner or clearing the table. I just love the French Blue coloured kitchen, it's so soft and goes with so many different colours. The spacious master bedroom has a balcony and en-suite shower room and twin room with en-suite shower room are upstairs and the third bedroom with bath is on the ground floor. I am always striving to improve the inside and outside. Adding a hot tub with a fully enclosed gazebo has certainly been a USP. Last year a large BBQ was constructed complete with chimney. Both facilities have been very popular. Trees, ex-Christmas trees and shrubs have been planted in a large border to give this chalet more privacy and in spring the colours and sweet smells from the flowers look beautiful. The chalet is easily accessible from the A30 and A303. The train station is only 5 mins drive.
What makes this property unique
A six seater hot tub awaits you with it's 36 swirling massage jets for a relaxing soak. Includes reclining position and Captain's chair plus bench seats. Enjoy a glass of wine after a long day touring and let those jets work their magic on aching limbs. Come rain or wind the fully enclosed gazebo surrounding the hot tub protects you from the elements. With sliding door and windows and star viewing roof you'll find it impossible to vacate the hot tub.
