EXCEPTIONAL RED FUNNEL DISCOUNTS ALL YEAR ROUND.
The Auction House, located in the heart of Ryde just a few minutes walk to the beach, is part of a stylish conversion of Ryde's Victorian sale rooms. It has been equipped and furnished in a careful blend of contemporary and traditional boutique-hotel style to provide a relaxing and comfortable base for your holiday. The whole house is flooded with light throughout the day.

Downstairs the sitting room is furnished with Laura Ashley sofas and French windows open out onto the courtyard - perfect for bringing the outside in or sitting out with a glass of wine or morning coffee. The stylish kitchen/dining area incorporates a peninsular bar so the cook doesn't miss out on any action! There is also a downstairs cloakroom.

Upstairs there is a beautiful mahogany, hand-carved four-poster bed in the main bedroom with stunning sunburst canopy. The twin bedroom is fresh and sunny. Both bedrooms have crisp bedlinen and plump pillows. There is a contemporary bathroom ( large bath with shower over).

Outside there are two patio areas (one private area to the side of the house) furnished with mature hydrangeas, palms and shrubs. Seating for 4 is provided. Car parking for one is available in the courtyard adjacent to the house. Additional long-stay paid car parking is available adjacent to the courtyard.



We have a bronze award from Visit Isle of Wight for our eco-friendly provision. A car is not necessary for visitors ( catamaran and hovercraft services arrive at Ryde Pier with good train connections from Portsmouth) with the excellent bus service across the Island from Ryde. We welcome walkers and have secure storage for bikes.



EXCEPTIONAL RED FUNNEL DISCOUNTS - for all year round bookings. Ferries run from Southampton-East Cowes (15 minutes drive to Ryde). Please ask on booking if you would like a code.
WIGHTLINK - Portsmouth-Fishbourne service arrives two miles from Ryde. We offer variable discounts on flexible bookings through a partner agency. Please ask on booking for more details.


Ryde is an elegant seaside town in East Wight with many Victorian and Georgian buildings, including a restored pier, and easy access to the rest of the Island. There are plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants including Robert Thompson's super stylish newly opened Cafe Bar and Grill There are 6 miles of wonderful, sandy beaches together with a marina and children's play parks. The seafront is a gentle 5 minute stroll away.

N.B. Vrbo have listed our property as 7 minutes drive from the beach. This is inaccurate. Our location is as noted on the map and the nearest beach is just a 5 minute walk away.

Beautiful property in a peaceful courtyard. We felt at home as soon as we arrived. It’s very well equipped and extremely comfortable. Good WiFi and easy walk to nearby shops . We found it to be an excellent holiday base for exploring the island.

Lovely stay

Great location to Ryde and exploring the rest of the IOW. The property was as described and very comfy. It’s in a quiet mews and felt very safe and friendly.

Beautiful, quiet property close to the beach!

Really lovely mews house. The small touches made the place feel very ‘high end’. The place was spotless and very well equipped with everything we needed. Would highly recommend this property to anyone wishing to stay in Ryde.

A perfect home from home

This beautiful property was the perfect base for exploring the island. We couldn't have been more comfortable, even though we had one rainy day it was no hardship having to stay indoors in this lovely home. We would highly recommend and will be back

Nice mews home

We had a pleasant stay even though the weather was bad. The house is comfortable and has everything you might need for a short holiday. The host is very pleasant and is quick to respond. The parking is a huge bonus. Would recommend if you want to stay close to Ferry port.

Always a pleasure to stay here

We've just had our 6th annual stay at the Auction House for Cowes week and as always it's been a great experience. Sadly our last as with our children turning into adults and moving on to other things, it's unlikely that they will want to return. But we'll be back like a shot if we get the chance as we love it here.

Auction House

This property is a cut above the rest. Everything is top quality and its all available when you arrive. Its spacious and well equipped for a great stay. Property manager extremely helpful and the bedrooms and bedding is top grade. The weather was against us but it is a delight to stay in and the parking space is a real bonus. Highly recommended

This lovely house lives up to all expectations

On arrival we found the house to be spotlessly clean and tastefully furnished with no signs of any wear and tear and special attention is paid to meet all our needs during our stay . It is situated in a quiet location but still close to the town and beach. Having spent our week visiting all the towns and places of interest we felt we had definitely picked the best town staying in Ryde. Just 10 minutes drive from the ferry at Fishbourne to the house.Overall we really enjoyed our timr here and would highly recommend this house for a relaxing comfortable stay in the Isle of Wight

Last Minute Booking

Contacted Christine the owner of the Auction House on Sunday 2nd June and had an immediate response saying the property was available that day for the week. On arrival ( just 4 hrs later) the house was spotless, beautifully furnished and kitchen well equipped. Bed super comfy. Lovely bed linen. Thank you Christine we had a lovely time. Deb and Martin.

Nice property with all the amenities you need .

Lovely house neat and tidy in a quiet courtyard.Great base if you like the Ryde area. Our first time to IOW so perect spot to base ourselves but would say with children we were conscious about making noise in courtyard so kept them inside (am sure no one would have complained neighbours seemed lovely ) Found the double bed a bit uncomfortable as quite hard but that's just personal preference,the single beds the girls had were great. Owners really helpful , bottle of wine and biscuits on arrival and everything you need is provided in house very thoughtful .

We have never had any complaints from the neighbours about children plain the courtyard. All the beds are a medium rating to cater for as many guests as possible.

A lovely little house....

Clean, attractive and modern property situated in a small and quiet mews. Comes with a free dedicated car parking space. It is quite out of the way, you would never know it was there!. Has everything you need, including a dishwasher and washing machine. The beds are comfortable and the shower is fast running. The WiFi also works well and the TV took our Firestick. There are a few breakables around (glass vases etc for decoration), so beware if you have small children, although there is no reason you cannot just put these away out of sight for your stay, which we did. This is our third time staying at the property and that speaks for itself. We would recommend this house if you wish to stay in Ryde.

this property was outstanding, all the correspondence before and details about check in, recommendations were very clear and helpful etc. Property exceptionally clean and tidy, ideally situated to explore the island and short walk to shops and places for essential items. Turning into parking area and parking is a little tight if you have a very large car and the other spaces for properties nearby are in use, but not impossible.

A great family holiday home

We really enjoyed our stay in Ryde and in Auction House. Christine the owner was very friendly and gave us great restaurant tips. The house was lovely, in a great location and was very clean, with comfy beds. There is also a BBQ that we enjoyed on our first night. Unfortunately the washing machine was out of order but Christine arranged for her house keeper to pick up our washing and had it washed and dried in the same day for us, a really lovely touch! My only suggestions would to have a few board games and have Netflix/Prime etc on the TV. We highly recommend staying at Auction House.

Great location to explore the island

The house was nice and clean, we didn't spend much time there as was out island exploring. Everything we wanted to do was easily accessible from this location. Ryde shops and beach were a short walk away. It was perfect for what we needed. Excellent communication by Christine, when required. Thank you for a nice stay in the IOW.

Autumn Break

Spotlessly clean. Well equipped kitchen- we brought some of our own utensils, as my brother in law is a gourmet chef, but did not need them! Well positioned. Good host- definitely ‘On it’.

Why they chose this property

We have been visiting the Isle of Wight for several years for short breaks having really enjoyed the varied landscape and gentler pace of life. We find Island breaks a good stress-buster!

Ryde is a great base for all year round breaks. It is so convenient to access from the ferries (5-15 minutes) which is helpful if you have had a bit of a trek to get to the Island.

Ryde has plenty of facilities, wonderful beaches and everything you need for a relaxing break whether you want to eat out or cook at home.

What makes this property unique

We love the fact the house is near the centre of town and yet is so tranquil - just a few seagulls to wake up to in the morning and the beach just a stone's throw away from the house. The four-poster bed makes us feel spoilt - a little luxury is essential on holiday, isn't it?

We have furnished The Auction House to the standard of our own home rather than as a holiday let. We hope our guests will appreciate the extra touches we have put into the house.
