Relaxing holiday house in Carmona - close to Sevilla City and Airport
- english, spanish
Hi, I’m Harriette I look after the property with my husband Alfie. My husband and I are both English, I am originally from Cheshire and have lived in Spain for 25 years and my husband is from Bristol. We met in Sevilla 10 years ago and married a few years after having met. As you'll see from the property description we live next door to the rental house with our 6 year old daughter Athena born in 2012 and our lazy house cats who often enjoy meeting new holiday neighbours. Should guests need anything at all from calling a taxi, booking an outing of printing off boarding passes we are just a knock on the door away and available to help 24/7. Over the past ten years we've rented three properties in Carmona which have been full throughout the year but due to the recent change in rental law countryside properties in Sevilla can sadly only be rented for three months of the year per property for holiday visitors. For this reason we will need to block the remaining 9 months after having taken 3 months of reservations. Although for this reason we have decided not to continue renting the other properties we have gained knowledge from past guests, learning what holiday visitors are looking for and we do our best to accommodate. For the comfort of guests we have never cancelled a booking before and never intend to. It is essential when booking a countryside property in Andalucia that an identification code registered through the Junta de Andalucia Turismo can be provided by the house owner for the property you are planning on booking. We understand that holiday makers have become more and more concerned about the authenticity of properties they will be booking. For peace of mind we will happily give a video tour of the property and introduce ourselves by whatsapp or skype. Any questions guests might have please don't hesitate to ask.
Harriette purchased this House in 2007
Why Harriette chose Carmona
Our property is a perfect base for anyone wishing to visit Andalucia. Unlike holiday resorts where you are limited to the beach and eating out. In Sevilla there are memorable attractions and monuments to visit and Carmona's Roman architecture makes it stand out from any of the white towns you will otherwise see in Spain. Many guests while staying at our property take day trips to Ronda, Cordoba, Jerez, Cadiz and Huelva as these are all destinations under 2 hours drive. Although we also have many visitors who just want to relax and travel little further than the Carmona tapas street and the pool. Whatever you are looking for our countryside holiday property should accommodate all your needs.
What makes this House unique
Its location is fantastic, we are close by to everything, Countryside, Towns, Cities, Mountains, Sea, but it is lovely just being at home and no matter what time of the year it is, we can relax in the garden or by the pool, enjoy the views, the wildlife or just have a cozy winters eve by the fire. We do have a large plot of land and we take great joy in redesigning areas, giving them a new lease of life and alternative use. We have different themed areas all around the garden all set within an array of different fruit and olive trees, some may see it as a little quirky, but everybody enjoys it!

Beautiful properly and amazing outdoor space
Extremely friendly and helpful owners. Had an amazing week away with my husband and 4 teenage daughters. Locals were very friendly and small local restaurants served fantastic food at an extremely cheap price. Pool was amazing and spent many evenings out on the terrace in the wonderful weather. Couldn't have asked for anymore. Will definitely return.
Fabulous two weeks in Carmona
Just returned to the UK after a fabulous two weeks at this villa. Lovely, relaxing spot. Friendly welcome and great care and hosting from Harriett, Alfie and Athena. Spotlessly clean, well maintained, well equipped. Lovely pool and deck.
Really enjoyed looking at Carmona, easy 30 minute drive to Seville. Would recommend this as a lovely relaxing holiday spot.
Wonderful stay in Los Frutales
We just spent 12 nights in this beautiful villa in the country near Carmona. There was plenty of room for my wife and I and our 3 teenagers. The home, terrace, pool and extensive gardens create a lovely setting for a relaxing stay. We used the barbecue, the outdoor dining area and had a pool day. Harriette and Alfie are right next door for any questions and were of wonderful assistance, but always respect your privacy. We used the home as a base for visits to Seville, Carmona, Granada, Ronda, Cadiz and Gibraltar. You definitely need a car when staying here. This was our first trip to Spain and we strongly recommend this property.
Lovely rural getaway
Fantastic location for a relaxing holiday. The villa is well situated to access Seville, Carmona and Córdoba. Harriet and Alfie were perfect 'hosts' as they were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to make our holiday special. Very safe and family friendly environment and the lovely pool was well used after our daily trips around the area.
Great property - thoroughly recommend
We came as a young family during the Easter holidays and had a great time.
The property is about 25-30 mins from the airport. It was very clean and well equipped - in particular the kitchen. There is a terrace, lovely gardens to sunbathe and/or play in, the pool is spotless (albeit a bit chilly in April!) and we loved the fresh lemons and oranges.
The local town of Carmona is charming and we really liked Seville - lots to see and do which occupied our family for couple of days - we also appreciated the maps and guidebook that were provided at the property.
Harriette and her family were really friendly and helpful - getting us initial supplies from the supermarket before we arrived, advising us where to visit and helping us light the BBQ, to name just a few. Whilst being very helpful when needed, they also stayed discreetly out of the way at other times.
So I would say, book with confidence, relax and enjoy a villa holiday with the benefit of Carmona and Seville to visit as well.
Great, comfortable get away into the sunshine
Very comfortable, rustic get away into the warmth of Spain. Great as a base to explore Sevilla, Granada and Cordoba with its rich history. Our hosts were so accommodating, nothing was too much trouble from logs for the fire or oranges from their prolific trees. Will definitely go back.
The countryside property is located within a gated Urbanization about 8-10 minutes drive to Carmona town and 5-7 minutes drive to the closest large supermarket Mercadona at the entrance to El Viso del Alcor town.
The Urbanization has easy access to main roads with Sevilla airport only around 20-25 minutes drive and Sevilla City around 30 minutes drive. Cordoba is just over an hour away, Portugal a couple hours’ drive and beaches in several directions from around an hour and a half drive.
All roads in our area are tarmac, there is no need to take any dirt tracks.
Aside from leaflets and information we provide at the property, at time of check-in I always give a map tour so visitors know how to get around easily with directions to the supermarket, restaurants, shops and places to visit such as The Cathedral, Alcazar Gardens, Plaza de España, Maria Luisa Park, Italica etc.
There are a few very casual cafes within minutes walk from the house, however the closest proper restaurant, which you will see highly, recommended in Trip Advisor is called San Roman, this is about 2 km from the house. In Carmona there are bars and restaurants everywhere and plenty of Roman sites to view, a taxi can be arranged to and from the house.
There are plenty of activities for children in the area such as summer clubs within 10 minutes drive including a daytime horse camp, also a forest camp. There are ballparks for young children within 10 minutes drive and in Sevilla there is the famous Isla Magica, Water Parks, Go Karting, Safari, the Science Museum and many more activities.
There are also great activities elder children and adults such as go karting, horse riding, sky diving, golf and the Roman Bathes are just a few examples.
Aside from visiting the Sevilla Cathedral, Seta, Italica, Plaza de España, Maria Luisa Park, Triana etc. there are also several museums to visit. Another way to view the city is to take a boat down the canal or a horse and carriage ride through the city center. You can even rent a bike or Segway or jump on and off the double decker tourist bus.
There are lakes in the Sierra Norte where you can kayak and mountains for abseiling a little more than an hours drive away.
During the winter months Sierra Nevada is around 3 hours drive should you wish to go skiing.
You should find that no matter what time of the year it is Sevilla is a great base for a fun packed holiday.
