We had a great stay at Coyote Creek and it was the perfect venue for the Celebration of Life for my mother in law. The hosts were helpful and very thoughtful. We would definitely recommend this place for a venue or just a nice getaway.
We couldn’t have been happier with finding this place. It was perfect for a small family reunion. The kitchen/living room is huge yet cozy. Hosts were very accommodating and easy to communicate with. Loved it!
We thoroughly enjoyed staying at Coyote Creek Ranch! Everything was accurate from descriptions and owners were very helpful when we asked any questions! We would stay here again for sure!!

Thank you for staying with us and we are so glad you had a beautiful and peaceful stay. Come see us again!
Our son got married this weekend and my family all came in from out of town and we were all able to stay in one place together. It made the whole weekend great. The place is amazing and just as advertised.
Loved this place. It does have a treated lumber smell, but we quickly got used to it. The place itself is nice, perfect for entertaining. Even in the winter the property is beautiful. The hosts are communicative and accommodating. It was the perfect place to have a family holiday gathering.
12 lifelong friends, 3 nights, lots of room to meet, play games, comfortable beds and the best owner! The surrounding property is beautiful. Long walks every day on beautiful trails. Friendly horses and a mule. Lots of outside seating under trees and sky. We will definitely be back.
The horse barn to huge home conversation is spectacular and exceptionally nice. Because we had 40 overall attending a 3-days, 2 nights family reunion, even though the gathering area and exterior yard space including a nice pond, were all truly nice, we lacked adequate parking and parking on the grass was understandably prohibited. While the facility would have been great had our group been smaller, private sleeping space for adults was limited to 3 BR and 2 baths downstairs. The upstairs with bunk beds was ideal for kids and teens. In addition to the limited parking areas, a second refrigerator would have been extremely helpful. We managed by using ice chests. Overall, the host/hostess were really nice and inviting and the place was really, really nice; but were squeezed when it came to sleeping space (we underestimated our group), parking and refrigerator space. This would be a great place for a smaller group, and I highly recommend the hosts.
There were 10 of us including the kids. We could not have asked for a better location and accomodations! Ginger was very helpful and communicative when needed. Lots of room to roam, horses, cows, and the donkey - Hudson I think! We will stay there again. I will mention the smell of ceosote in the house is a little strong the first day but that was a prerry minor issue.

Great time in the country!
Coyote Creek Ranch was a terrific place for our family to gather over Thanksgiving weekend. The house has large rooms and was perfect for three generations to stay together. We enjoyed the outdoors, with our grandchildren building a fire in the fire pit every day and the rest of the family sitting on the logs around it, telling stories and talking for hours. Thank you!

Thank you for taking the time to write a review about your stay! I’m so happy your family had a terrific Thanksgiving making memories at Coyote Creek Ranch.
We really enjoyed our stay, the host was very communicative before, and after. The pictures don't give the property justice. The sunlight that beams through during certain part of the day is breathtaking. Very quite neighborhood, and serene surroundings on the property.

Amazing family holiday getaway!
I've never written a review before, but this property was so spectacular I had to leave a review. The property is even more spectacular than the pictures convey. The owners were very responsive and helpful and I can't write enough good things about the property. Everything from check in to check out was smooth and easy. The kitchen is a dream and the bedrooms are large and comfortable. The outdoor space is wonderful for entertaining. Overall, it was a 5 star experience and we look forward to another opportunity to stay there.

Thank you,

Our group of 9 thoroughly enjoyed staying at this property. It is just gorgeous and the owners are fantastic communicators. The horse, Diego who lives on the property is the sweetest boy and was a highlight for our teenage girls'. If we return to Texas, we will definitely stay here again! I cannot begin to say enough wonderful things. It is Texas BIG, plenty of space and beds and bathrooms! Loved it!

We enjoyed our time at “coyote Creek Ranch”. Plenty indoor and outdoor activities to choose from. Kids enjoyed fishing (catch and release). Very peaceful. Diego (horse) came and visit us daily. Plenty of utensils in the kitchen to use. Ginger (owner) was very responsive by text or call. We will be back!

Thank you for the review! I’m so glad you all enjoyed your stay. Come visit Diego again soon 😉
Facility was great!! Only could get main tv or iPad for my handicap son to work and very sad the fire place wasn’t working Horses were awesome for the kids. 💕. Seems like a phone number would be helpful to have quick interaction with owners instead of having to check into the app and email communication
The Coyote Creek provided us more than enough space to prepare for my son's NYE wedding at the Springs of Alvarado. We had plenty of room for family to stay, groomsmen's luncheon and a quiet, relaxing environment to just relax and enjoy the country. The horses and mini donkey on the property was a bonus! The home is huge, and the views are priceless. Even saw two coyotes running across the property one morning. Just a beautiful location for family reunions, small weddings, or whatever you want. Ginger is a jewel and goes out of her way to make sure you have everything you need, including providing us with tools!!! We will be back!!

Impressive
We used the property for getting ready for my daughters wedding. The age range we had was from 7 months to 87. Everyone there was so impressed how beautiful the house and surrounding grounds were. On arrival we were greeted by 2 friendly horses at the door that we enjoyed watching as well as some well behaved dogs that would stop by. We were planning to take pictures outside but the day was just too hot so they were taken inside with big open window scenery in the background. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen big for putting a wedding cake together, lots of areas to sit and the upstairs bedroom provided a secluded area for the bride to get ready.

Thank you for your kind review and voicing the beauty of our property. Sounds like everything went perfect for you all. Thank you for choosing Coyote Creek Ranch.
Great location for our group, loads of space inside and out. Roomy kitchen. Comfortable beds, plenty of towels, comfortable seating, large dining area. Games for the kids and well maintained grounds for outdoor activities (unfortunately previous guests were not respectful of the amenities provided). AC worked great, fans throughout (we were there in June and it was hot!)
Our only real complaint was the smell, as many other guests have noted. Some in our party barely noticed it, some had issues with it. The odor lingered on their clothing and luggage long after they returned home, even after laundering. This may be seasonal, but it’s a huge issue for this otherwise awesome property.
I absolutely loved this place with the exception of the creosote smell. I was warned ahead of time about a funny smell but went any way. Because my husband is an environmental toxicity specialist we travel with air and surface sanitization technology that clears and neutralizes toxins as well as protects people from the harmful affects of 5G and wifi. We turned on this equipment and opened the only screen door and were able to complete our stay. It really sucks that the creosote was used in the building of this place. We knew neighbors who told us the property story after we checked in. The property had a great back porch which is where we hung out in the evening in fresh air.

Liked: Check-in, communication, location
Disliked: Cleanliness, listing accuracy
We stayed here for 4 nights with a group of 16 people from California for my daughter’s wedding.Pros:•The fishing was great — the men in our group loved the ponds.•We even saw a cute armadillo in the backyard that entertained us for hours.•The property is peaceful and quiet, which was nice.Cons:Unfortunately, there were quite a few downsides.•Location confusion: The listing stated that the property was in Cleburne, TX, but it’s actually in Alvarado, TX. This caused issues when other family members tried to rent a nearby place, only to find out we weren’t actually in the same town.•Strong odor: The smell in the house was overwhelming — like lacquer or chemicals. It was so strong it burned our eyes and even stuck to our clothes after leaving. I had read prior reviews mentioning this but decided to give it a chance. •Cleanliness and maintenance: For nearly 750 per night, the attention to detail was disappointing. We found a dirty shoe print on a pillow, a used fake eyelash on the master bathroom sink, and most of the furniture is broken. The TV remotes didn’t work due to dead batteries, and the outdoor kitchen area was full of leaves upon arrival.Overall, the property has potential and a beautiful setting, but the odor, cleanliness, and lack of upkeep really took away from what could have been a great stay.
The property is beautiful and spacious. There's definitely a varnish smell, but after a few hours you're used to it. No one in our group seemed to have issues with it.
We enjoyed fishing and being outdoors when the weather was nice. (Summer in Texas, it is what it is) There are snakes, but we also saw so many butterflies.
There was half a roll of paper towels in the kitchen and we couldn't find any more, luckily there are stores close by but we had hoped to not have to go anywhere once we arrived. There were also no tissues. But the toilet paper and towels were well stocked.
The outdoor bar was really cool, but it would be nice if there were outdoor fans on the porches. We unfortunately got some chigger bites so don't skip the bug spray!
It was neat getting to pet and feed the horses.
Overall, we had a great time and would definitely stay here again.

About the host
Hosted by Ginger Bowyer
We built this barn home with a lot of love and care. It has been so much fun watching it go up from the foundation to the very finish. We use to take our little boys over during construction on the weekends and make a campfire to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. It has given us many memories with our two beautiful boys.
Why they chose this property
Try it once and you will see. It's very special. Hike the lake.
What makes this property unique
I always like to sneak up over the edge of the dam and look for wildlife. I always find something. A flock of ducks, a beaver swimming on the lake, one time a coyote. We see coyotes often. That is what gave it the name, Coyote Creek Ranch. I think because of the water, they come to visit us often.
