A beautiful stone house in the area of Chania for family vacation. It is 20kms from the centre of Chania, approximately 33 kms from the airport and 16 kms from the nearest beach. It is ideal for hiking and trekking combining mountain and sea view.The house can host 5-6 persons. It is at a quiet part of village Kampoi and it has a gorgeous view of the mountains and sea. 15 minutes drive from the house is the village Stilos with lots of tavernas. Also 15 km from the house is the village Kalives where you can find a lovely beach. The local hospital is 16 km from the house. The house has Wifi and cable/satelite TV.

An amazing place with amazing views

The villa was clean and welcoming when we arrived. The host had lit a fire which was very welcome. The villa was all we could have expected and more. Very good facilities and we were well looked after.

Na ja, das hatten wir uns anders vorgestellt...

Wir sind sicher nicht die Reisenden, die das Haar in der Suppe suchen, aber hier stimmt Einiges nicht (mehr). Dem Haus fehlt schlichtweg Zuwendung. Die Badtür lässt sich nicht schließen, die Duschekabine hat nur noch 2 von 4 Wänden, so dass nach jedem Duschen das Bad unter Wasser steht, dem Kamin fehlt das Feuerholz, Kabel sind quer durchs Zimmer verlegt und somit Stolperfallen, WLAN funktioniert nicht, Spinnweben in den Ecken, kein Bezug um die Bettdecke, Blumenkästen mit vertrockneten Pflanzen aus dem letzten Jahr. Unseren Vermieter haben wir nicht kennengelernt. Alles lief per Mail (das hat tatsächlich gut funktioniert). So kann man es machen, aber kretische Gastfreundschaft geht anders. Es tut uns leid für diese schlechte Bewertung, aber wir wollten ehrlich sein.

Peacefull and authentic location in the mountains

We enjoyed our stay very much. It is located in a small village and has all the necessary utilities and supplies that one needs. It is furnished and decorated simply, but with love and care, It is very quiet and peacefull. In the morning you only hear the cock and the goats. You can enjoy beatifull views from the teracce and go for a walk or hike during the day and sit around the cosy fireplace in the evenings. You reach Chania in ca. 20-30 min with car. The road is very winding, though. Michail is a very friendly, welcoming and supportive host. The communication with him was easy and pleasant. We would highly reccomend the place for people who look for some quite place to stay and are interested in hiking and authentic village life rather than going to the beach.

Idylle in den Bergen

Ein Haus in den Bergen, ruhig, mit allem Komfort und einem sehr netten Vermieter. Er nahm uns persönlich in Empfang und sorgte sogar dafür, dass etwas zu essen und zu trinken da war!!! Das Haus entsprach der Beschreibung, Wlan reicht in alle Räume. Es ist alles vorhanden was man braucht. Die Küche ist voll ausgestattet. Ein Manko ist die etwas ungemütliche Sitzecke im Wohnzimmer sowie die kalte Raumbeleuchtung. Da könnten eine Wandlampe und ein kleines Tischchen als Ablage helfen. Achtung auch an den Durchgängen. Wir haben uns jeder einmal den Kopf gestoßen. Die Sauberkeit war in Ordnung. Wir würden wieder kommen und sagen Danke Michail.

Complete relaxation in beautiful surroundings

Lovely old house with great atmosphere, well renovated with all the equipment needed for a successful holiday. Michail always ready to help, responding quickly to any little question and giving us lots of little presents to make the stay even more agreeable. Beautiful part of Crete with superb views over the mountains and wonderful sunsets. We loved the goats in the garden!

Ruhe im ursprünglichen Bergdorf

Das alte Steinhaus mit Ausbaupotential hat Charme. Es liegt auf einem Hügel quasi in Alleinlage über dem Dorf. Parken kann man problemlos vor dem Haus. Auf einer großen betonierten Fläche vor dem Haus kann man in der Sonne oder auch im Schatten sitzen. Auf der Terrasse in der ersten Etage gibt es einen Sonnenschirm, einen Tisch und eine Sitzgruppe. Dort muss man mit etwas Wind rechnen. Sonnenliegen wären eine Bereicherung. Im Haus ist alles vorhanden was notwendig ist. Die Küchenzeile ist ausreichend ausgestattet, lediglich ein Wellenschliffmesser zum Schneiden von Brot hat uns gefehlt. Das Badezimmer ist geräumig, dort ist auch die Waschmaschine. Die Dusche im Badezimmer könnte noch eine Halterung vertragen, damit man den Duschkopf nicht festhalten muss. Die Durchgänge zu den einzelnen Bereichen sind sehr niedrig. Große Personen müssen vorsichtig sein, um sich nicht den Kopf zu stoßen. Klimaanlagen sind in allen Räumen vorhanden und funktionieren tadellos. Wenn man an den Fenstern noch Fliegengitter anbringen würde, wären sie über Nacht gar nicht nötig, da durch die Lage des Hauses ein erfrischender Wind weht, wenn man quer lüftet. Die Matratzen der Betten sind sehr fest, daran kann man sich aber gewöhnen. An den Wänden war teilweise noch das Malerkrepp und einige Stellen sind beim Saubermachen übersehen worden. Alles in allem stört das aber unseren guten Gesamteindruck nicht. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.

Beauty and Solitude

If you are looking for a quiet, out of the city home, close to Chania, this is it! With spectacular views and tons of charm and comfort, this 2 bedroom home exceeds expectations! On one side, the mountains; on the other, the sea. The only sounds you can hear are the distant clanging of a goat bell or nature. Go visit the local taverna, it's run by the owner's cousin, whose mother runs the kitchen. We would stay again, and again, and again.

Villa confortable mais difficile d'acces

La villa est à 20 km de Chiana, mais ce sont 20 kms de routes sinueuses et parfois étroites (compter 30 minutes de trajet). De plus il manquait un parasol sur la terrasse on n'a jamais pu prendre le petit déjeuner, trop chaud. Il manque aussi une table et des chaises de jardin.

Comfortable renovated old house with splendit 360 degree mountain view

Michail gave us a very warm welcome in the night we arrived. We enjoyed each day having our breakfast and dinner on the lovely terrace, discovering all the changing colours of sun-rise and sun-set. One of our highlights was our walk directly from the house towards the white mountains to the south, following the lonely trail of E4, meeting only goats and sheep. However, a car is mandatory, if you want to discover the other places of crete, or require food. Directly at the house is enough parking space and roads to Kampoi are good and with lots of curves. House is equipped with airconditioning and new beds for relaxing nights. Modern comfort is available, like washing machine, hot shower and a good internet connectivity. And if you need additional support, Michail is within reach via phone, sms or whatsapp. Achim & Christine

Ein traumhaftes Domizil! Wer das echte, unverfälschte Kreta weit abseits von jeglichen Touristenströmen kennenlernen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. Am Fuße der weißen Berge gelegen, ist dieses alte Steinhaus fantastisch modern restauriert. Es bietet viel Platz, sowohl innen als auch vor dem Haus. Die große Terrasse bietet einen beinahe Rundumblick , auf der einen Seite mit Blick auf die höchsten Berge Kretas, auf der anderen Seite über Hügel hinaus auf das Meer. Das Haus ist nicht einsehbar, sodass man wirklich für sich ist, aber den Blick auf die wenigen Häuser des kleinen Dorfs hat. Ein modernes Bad, ein gemütliches Wohnzimmer, ein kleines (fast fensterloses) Schlafzimmer und das große Schlafzimmer bieten viel Komfort. In der Küche befindet sich ein großer Kühlschrank, der problemlos einen Wocheneinkauf aufnimmt. Der Vermieter ist ein sehr freundlicher, sehr um seine Mieter besorgter Mann, der alles tut, damit es seinen Mietern richtig gut geht. Wir waren 3 Wochen dort und haben alle 5-6 Tage frische Wäsche erhalten!! Wir waren überwältigt von seiner Gastfreundschaft. Wer die Ruhe und die Einsamkeit liebt, ist hier genau richtig. Nichts für einen reinen Badeurlaub! Immer wieder gerne! Michail, i hope, they will translate it for you!!!!

Why they chose this property

The house was built from my grandfather before 1940. He used natural materials and made everything with his hands. It has historical value for my family and me. Me and my father tried to keep the traditional way during the restoration.

What is lovely about the house is its mountain view and its orientation. The house is sunny during the whole day.
