We enjoyed this wonderful cottage for a week. Everything is close and yet it's quiet and comfortable. We loved it. It has many extra things that make it special - the beautiful little private garden off the kitchen, a perfectly supplied kitchen with all the necessary tools and dishes, pots, etc., probably 500 books of any genre to keep every reader happy, plenty of tv channels to choose from and pubs and restaurants everywhere. Pippa's photography is a nice touch and all the little pictures throughout are fun to see.
The listing was accurate - the only annoying item is the construction across the street which blocks the parking for the cottage. We parked near the Angling Club for free but it's a hike to get to the car. However, we didn't use the car once we arrived so it was not that inconvenient. We took the train to Dover and could have easily done so to other towns as well. Walking is doable to Walmer Castle and Sandwich.
The workers across the street stop working around 4 pm on week days and don't work at all on weekends, so it was quiet when it needed to be. The property was very clean, well maintained and orderly when we arrived - the gift basket was full of nice things. Grocery shopping is a breeze with a Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencers plus many other little markets to choose. The Saturday market just a few feet away down on High Street was fun - we bought a chicken and bacon pie which was delicious and highly recommended. The Milaad Tandoori restaurant just down Middle Street is a jewel. We didn't need additional help or customer service but we have no doubt it would have been available and efficient.
All said, we will highly recommend Dragon Cottage to anyone coming to this area - it's a very nice place for a two to four people.
