Doves Barn is a spacious, luxurious barn conversion ideal for family gatherings, birthday celebrations and hen parties. We comfortably sleep 22 guests all under the same roof. The Barn has a 8 person hot tub for guests to enjoy, as well as 2 patios and a spacious courtyard ideal for al-fresco dining and game of table tennis!
The Barn has a wealth of exposed beams, a vaulted ceiling in the living room and a warm welcome all year round with wood burners in the large inglenook fireplaces. The barn benefits from a large country style kitchen, a dining room and two large sitting rooms, there is also a games room with a pool table and Karaoke. The barn is perfect for large groups, spacious enough to allow you to enjoy your own space or join in the party!

Doves Barn is located just a few minutes from the idyllic, retro village of Needham Market which boasts many local traditional English pubs and a variety of shops to meet all your needs. The property is an excellent base for walking, cycling and bird watching.

It is conveniently situated to visit Bury St Edmunds, a charming city with the Abbey ruins and quaint lanes filled with shops, cafes and restaurants. Also nearby are the towns of Norwich, Colchester and Ipswich where you can take a trip to Jimmy's Farm who is a friend of Jamie Oliver. Long Melford, Lavenham and Kersey are also within easy reach, as is the Suffolk Coast, Southwold, known as 'little Chelsea on sea' has all the facilities that your group could wish for. Aldeburgh, with its art galleries, shops and restaurants, also famous for the Aldeburgh Music Festival. Suffolk's idyllic landscape inspired Constable and Gainsborough to capture the fleeting light of English countryside and sky.

60th Birthday Family Gathering

We travelled over from France and wanted to return to the UK to celebrate my 60th birthday with the whole of my family. This accommodation was ideal as it slept the number of people required. It met my expectations and more. A high quality facility with everything you need and more. It catered for young children as there were games for them, and set in very large grounds for them to run around in, this included adults too ! The hot tub was a bonus too. Lots of seating areas outside the property. Inside decor was of a high quality. Plenty of outside space for parking. Would highly recommend this property for a large gathering. A lovely weekend with all my family under the same roof, its not often we can get everyone together so this will be a most memorable weekend for me. The owners very friendly and informative. Highly recommend.

Golf tour 2019

Our group have been going on a golf tour for the past 22 years and have stayed in types of accommodation. Doves Barn certainly did not disappoint when it came to our 2019 trip to Suffolk. The accommodation was an excellent base from which we could access the golf courses that we were playing in and around Ipswich. The accommodation is listed as able to sleep, 22. We were a party of 14 chaps and each had a separate bed, but some guys were not as fortunate as others, as they had to share rooms of different configurations. The property provided all that we required in terms of space and amenities from the hot tub, bbq, pool table and Sky Tv. All my communications with the owners, prior to arrival and during our stay were always promptly dealt with. On this point I must say that on the day of our arrival, as we were all arriving at different times, the group were especially grateful to be able to arrive early and drop off belongings before we went off to play golf. In summary the property was perfect for our requirements, the hosts were very friendly and helpful when required and I would happily recommend Doves Barn to anybody looking for a large property in the Ipswich area.

Well maintained, well equipped, clean barn conversion

Celebrated our Golden Wedding here with all our family and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We arrived on the Friday afternoon to be greeted by the owner who showed us around and made us feel very welcome. Plenty of logs provided for the wood burner and a lovely hamper waiting for us. Although the weather was bitterly cold the barn was very warm and inviting.

There was a mixed group of 18 ranging from 30-40 age group. We all had the best time in this wonderful location. Plenty of space and the rooms were amazing. Lots to do and we all enjoyed playing pool , table tennis and lots more and the hot tub was great and well used. Place was spotless , Would defiantly recommend to others. A lovely gesture of a welcome hamper and great communication from Neville, Eleanor and all there hard working team. Would love to come back again some day !!!

I had the most memorable experience at Doves Barn for my 30th birthday. I really could not of asked for anything more for such a special weekend with friends and family. The property and all its amenities were just perfect. The house itself is well set up with plenty of space, rooms and bathrooms to really make you feel at home. There is something for everyone here, from relaxing in the jacuzzi to playing rounders on the large grounds surrounding the barn. All of my guests had such a fun time. We have all said how we would most certainly like to return.

I have just returned from my hen weekend at Doves Barn with 21 friends and I cannot recommend this property highly enough. The house is absolutely stunning and so much space. The owners are lovely and Neville even got us drinks for the hot tub. The hot tub is clean and nice that it’s inside so you don’t get cold. The bedrooms are beautiful and the pictures don’t do them justice. Especially enjoyed the log burner too and wood supplied. I would definitely like to come back again. We came here for a 25th birthday/ 10 year reunion and couldn't have asked for more! The accommodation was perfect down to the finest details! The grounds are amazing too and the hot tub, ping pong table and outside seating are the icing on top! All 25 of us had a very special weekend!

Brilliant barn for large group

We stayed here for a special birthday weekend, we had 19 adults so also used the adjacent property, Doves barn cottage. The barn is fantastic for large groups and we had loads of room to be together and also have our own space. Facilities include hot tub, karoke, pool table and giant connect 4 - all of which were used:) We used a local caterer for a served dinner on Saturday and that was just lovely. This is the place to stay if you want a special location for a large group. The owners were so helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble. Christmas decorations were up so all made the weekend magical

We loved living in Doves Barn, but when the children left home the property was far too big for us. It dates back to the 16th Century and has amazing authentic features and a magical atmosphere where you will feel immediately relaxed as you enter.

What makes this property unique

The property is semi rural with open spaces, countryside and beautiful views. Doves Barn is a very spacious property, so although we have up to 22 guests staying everyone has plenty of room to spend a quiet moment or join the party.
