Gorgeous getaway

Villa Edem was perfect for us, located just up the road from our favourite beach, Alaties. The property was clean and comfortable, and Nikoletta ensured we had everything we needed to enjoy ourselves. Our favourite area was the beautiful garden and swimming pool, with plenty of space for shade and sun. We would recommend a stay at Villa Edwm and would love to return.

Wonderful stay at Villa Edem

We had a fabulous time at Nikoletta’s villa, it’s so peaceful and a great location being close to Fiskardo, Assos and some lovely little Taverna’s (we even went greek dancing with Nikoletta’s mum at one of the taverna’s!). The pool and terrace were a lovely place to relax. Nikoletta was so helpful giving us tips of where to go and eat and even bought us some shopping as our flight was severely delayed.

From start to finish was a great break. The Villa has everything you need with a pool and fantastic garden area. The Alaric’s Beach is minutes away, beautiful small cove with crystal clear water…. A relaxing stay in a wonderful villa

We had a fantastic week in Nikoletta's villa. It was clean and well equipped, with great options for outside dining. The pool was a treat, and long enough to do some swimming, and the gardens beautifully maintained. The hosts were very helpful, and we enjoyed the home-layed eggs. The bed could have been longer (I'm 6'4"), but otherwise the villa was very comfortable. Great weather too! Thanks!

It was wonderful!

We were looking for a family vacation in a quiet location in proximity to the beach. This vacation villa ticked all the boxes and as a bonus, we had our own private pool to enjoy as well. Nikoletta was a wonderful host that made sure we had everything we needed. We had two beaches within 3-5 min from the property and the kids had a blast. If you are looking for a storybook location with beautiful nature and beaches that you only see in movies this is the perfect location in northern Kefalonia.

Fantastic villa

This a beautiful villa within walking distance to a beautiful cove with an excellent beach bar / restaurant. The house was very clean and comfortable with a pretty garden and good sized pool . The bedroom balcony had an amazing view of the sea , lovely spot to sit and watch the sunset . The drive to Fiskardo is within 10 minutes . The host is very friendly , responsive and keen to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible . We would definitely stay again and recommend this villa . Thank you very much

Wonderful villa!

August 23. Such a lovely villa, pictures really don’t do it justice. Perfect for our family of 5, kids 5-12, pool is superb & looks bigger than pics. The garden is incredible, lemons, limes, pomegranates lots of wildlife! We loved the location , a few minutes to Alati beach & restaurant a must, 5 min drive to Magannos, several tavernas & 2 mini markets for convenience. About 15 min drive to Fiscardo. The hosts were lovely and clearly cared about their property, which had everything we needed, some nice touches of some welcome local wine & fruit, a cool box/parasol/towels for the beach, etc and helped book a couple of restaurants, we shall return, Thankyou!

Wonderful stay in a wonderful villa.

The villa is nicely appointed and beautifully situated within a secluded garden. Very quiet at night except for the lovely sound of goat bells. 5 minutes from wonderful restaurants and grocery stores in Maganos and from the lovely beach coves at Alties and Jerusalem. 15 minutes from Fiskardo. You couldn't ask for a better location or a better villa. I t was nice to spend time in the garden around the pool in the mornings and evenings. The upstairs balcony has a spectacular view to the sea and is a great place to watch the sunset. Nikoletta, the property manager, was beyond helpful. Very quick to respond to any messages and very kindly arranged for taxis and provided recommendations when requested. Thank you, Nikoletta, for a wonderful stay.

Paradise in Kefalonia

We went to Kefalonia as we were getting married in Assos. We opted to stay in a villa as we could use it as a base to visit our other guests and receive visitors. Villa Edem is beautiful; it is in a peaceful setting, within walking distance of a couple of restaurants and a small beach. The inside of the villa is clean, airey and well equipped but for me it was all about the outside space. The pool is stunning, the gardens beautiful and the veranda and BBQ makes outside living a must during your stay. The upstairs outside area is the perfect spot to watch the sun set over the sea each evening - we've been back for 2 days and I'm missing it already. Nikoletta and Maria the cleaner, cater for your every need and bring you supplies of jam and fresh eggs regularly. They are keen to make sure that you are as comfortable as possible and nothing seems too much trouble. If you are looking for some rest and relaxation Villa Edem is the perfect location for this. Within a 10 minute drive from Fiscardo, 40 minutes to Agia Effimia and 30 minutes from Assos - it is the perfect base for adventures in the North of the island. If I was returning to Kefalonia I would certainly be looking to stay at Villa Edem for a second time.

Perfect romantic hideaway

Nicolette describes the property perfectly on the website, she was in fact perfect in her care and attention to our stay. From rescuing us when we were lost, the wine and marmalade through to the surprise honey bread when we left. The property lends itself to a romantic stay and a perfect family holiday. We have stayed at many villa’s and it’s true to say this was the cleanest, the best pool and the perfect location for experiencing local Kephalonian life, we will certainly return - Rowena and Pete!

Simply Amazing!

I rarely leave a 5 out of 5 star review as there is usually one or two things amiss but in this instance I truly can leave a 5 out of 5. Nikoletta is a lovely host who settled us in brilliantly with a great tour of the property, clear advise and suggestions about where to visit and even made a reservation for us at the local Taverna – Alati which is simply perfect. The facilities at the Villa are very accommodating with everything you could need for a relaxing stay, including aircon in all bedrooms and the living area which provided relief from the heat and made sleeping comfortable. The pool was perfect, kept to a high standard and cleaned regularly in the early morning so as not to interrupt our time. The location too is perfect. A 15min walk downhill to the Taverna and small beach, 15mins from local markets and 15mins from Fiskardo. What more can I say, a perfect location in a perfect villa.

Amazing and Interesting Holiday

An amazing and interesting stay in Kefalonia and Villa Edem, mainly because we were here during the storm of September 2020. Having never seen a storm like this, it was interesting, to say the least. The winds were ferocious, the rain was sideways and relentless with it hitting the house at different angles as it went through its cycle. We had no power or Internet connection. Yet, during all of this, Nikoleta and her Mum came to see how we were and to deliver us hot food for lunch and dinner, as we were advised not to go out. How kind and thoughtful of them! And brave! These ladies are true Superwomen! They also brought us hot food for lunch for the next 2 days as the power was still out. I would have no hesitation in staying at Villa Edem again because when your basic safety, security and welfare are catered for, it means so much. Aside from this, the garden and pool area are beautiful as is the upstairs balcony, where you can have dinner whilst watching the sunsets. It is also very peaceful in this location. The villa was very clean and comfortable with all amenities provided.

Fabulous Villa and Pool

We had a wonderful week at Villa Edem. We would highly recommend for getting away from it all. We arrived from the UK around midnight, drove up from the airport and were met by the lovely Nikoletta at the Villa. There was a supply of a few basics such as orange juice, water, wine, fruit, bread, butter and jam to keep us going until we could go to the local shop which was a nice touch. The pool and area was spotless and cleaned daily in the early morning and so we were not disturbed. We had clean sheets and towels mid week. Nikoletta was available for anything we needed. The villa is within walking distance of Alaties beach and a short drive to our favourite Jerusalem beach. Really excellent tavernas at Alaties and Jerusalem and we ate at both more than once. The harbour at Fiscardo is lovely for a stroll and drinks/eats and to watch the world go by. Fiscardo also has a great bakery as well as supermarkets and an ATM. There is also two local supermarkets in Magganos as well as Tavernas, our favourite being Picnic, especially for breakfasts! As just the two of us, there was lots of space in the villa and so it would also suit a much larger family. The TV and WiFi was excellent. Good value for money. Thank you Nikoletta and Villa Edem. Schönes Haus in natürlicher Umgebung, im dünn besiedelten Norden, schöne Strände zum Schnorcheln

Schöne Urlaubsvilla mit sauberem Pool; Liebevoll gestalteter Garten auf den wir von der gemütlichen, überdachten Terrasse beim Frühstück und auch abends beim Karten spielen blickten, schöner Schutz vor Mittagssonne oder auch Regen und Wind, den wir im Oktober auch zwei Tage hatten. Sehr freundliche, hilfsbereite Vermieter. Badetücher für Strand und Pool vorhanden. Vom oberen Schlafzimmer und der dortigen Dachterrasse schöner Blick auf das Meer. Ruhige Lage, erholsam dörflich, Schafsglöckchengeläut.

Fantastic villa with equally fantastic hosts

This villa was perfect for our family of 3 (we also had a whole bedroom to spare). It is positioned in the north of the island close to Fiskardo (15mins), which is one of the prettiest harbours on the island and has lots of great restaurants on the waterfront. Also the local Alaties beach (3 min drive) was perfect for our little one as most of the beaches are stone/pebble (the €8 investment in beach shoes is worth every penny) but this one was most gentle and also perfect for swimming/snorkelling and has a great taverna where you get the most amazing sunsets over cocktails. Although small, it was our favourite of all we visited, even the compared to the famous myrtos. The villa is close to a couple of great markets for food, one of which supplies fruit and veg to the island and has a ready supply of freshly made Greek yoghurt and feta as well as all the fresh fruit and veg you need. Most places on the island are accessible but we loved the peaceful nature of the north so didn’t travel too much, only towards Sami to see the tourist spots (40 mins). You will need a car to get around from the villa. The villa is sufficiently equipped and we did self-cater on some nights and there were no issues. It is incredibly peaceful and the balcony off the bedroom offers a chance to sit out and watch the most amazing sunsets each evening. The garden is a little oasis with a beautiful gardens and swimming pool that was cleaned everyday. Also there good amount of sun beds and shade. There is a lovely area to sit out and eat each evening. Our hosts Nikoletta and Anna were fantastic and very attentive. Check in was easy and there was fast and clear communication from confirmation to check out, even though we booked last minute. We received fresh eggs for our little one on a few occasions and they were always on hand to help with anything. Towels and bedding were changed during our stay and they always communicated when they were visiting to clean the villa, which was kept spotless. Our little one loved playing with Anna whenever she was there cleaning the pool/gardens. We had a wonderful and relaxing stay and thank you again to Nikoletta and Anna for making it such a wonderful holiday.

Summer vacation Aug/ Sept 2019

Very glad to find this peaceful place for our summer vacation. We (2 Adults, 2 Teenager kids) enjoyed very much the time at the house and to relax on the pool where the kids invented funny games in the water. A BIG thank to Nikoletta and Maria for warm and caring hospitality. We felt well taken care of but had full privacy (Nikoletta was always to be reached in case needed). The house is located to be able to walk to two different beaches. Possible to do a nice swim in morning/ evening or to visit the nice tavernas at both beaches. A car however I would recommend because there are more nice beaches and places close by. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets at the upper terasse-amazing!! Favorite place! All in all I can recommend the charming house. We would come back definitely!

You won't regret booking this villa

We stayed here for 1 week in August and found the villa to be perfect. Everything was lovely and clean. We were greeted and shown around by Maria then Nikoletta arrived later to check we were all ok. Nikoletta is a very generous host and will be guided by you as to how often you need her to be around. She helped us to hire a boat for the day whilst we were there and popped in now and again to check we were ok and had everything we needed. The villa itself is perfectly proportioned and well equipped. Myself, my partner and 3 children stayed here and it was plenty big enough inside and we had everything we needed in terms of bedding, towels, crockery, cutlery etc, plus a welcome pack of bread, water, milk, fruits etc which we appreciated. The outside of the villa is really lovely with fruit trees and tomato plants growing in the garden. The villa is nicely positioned so the sun does not shine directly in to the house and you can always find a shady spot in the garden if you've had enough sun. Pool was fab with comfy sun loungers. Watching the sunset from the balcony listening to the goats going home for the evening was one of our favourite things to do before heading out for food. Local beaches (Alaties and Jerusalem) great for snorkelling and both have nice tavernas. We always drove as didn't fancy the walk back up the hill. Parking not a problem though. I would definitely recommend a stay here to anyone and would come back again if we were to return to Kefalonia.

Lovely villa

A lovely Villa, well kept in a quiet area and close to beach. A little small inside for 6 people but pool and outside eating area make up for this. Owner very helpful, nothing too much trouble (even brought fish for our BBQ). Only criticism would be the frequency of visits to Villa by owners (6 out of 7 days) which we felt was too many. Would recommend.

Fantastic Villa, such lovely Hosts

Clean, tidy and very welcoming villa, wonderful pool and outside area, gardens are beautiful and so well kept. Home made marmalade on arrive with fresh bread, milk etc to keep us going. Such warm friendly hosts are Anna & Nikoletta very helpful with local information, car hire and places to eat. Would 100% recommend this villa which is a short drive to two lovely beach bars Alaties and Jerusalem which both served amazing food and set on beautiful beaches. I will be returning !!

Nikoletta ans Anna live in the lefkada in quite a rural area. They started going to Kefalonia in 2007 and have made some great friends. It didn't take them long to decide that it was a place they could spend a lot of time especially when they get older and when first setting eyes on the plot of land where they were hooked.

Why they chose this property

We chose Kefalonia for its magnificent scenery, beautiful beaches, fantastic climate and the warmth and friendliness of the welcome wherever we go on the island. That is exactly what we want for guests staying at our Villa.

What makes this property unique

We wanted a combination of tranquillity, scenery, clear views of the sea, but at the same time with easy access to the nearest town and the main road to other beauty spots on the island. In a nutshell we went for location, location, location, and chose a site with exclusivity in a natural hillside environment, with magnificent views out to sea, complete with a Taverna within walking distance of our Villa. Our little piece of heaven.
