If you whant to expiriance how Hvar used to be, choose for your vacation a beautiful rustic villa in Zavala, one of the few left summer residences on the island. Built in bidermyer stile around 1830, and still in its original settings. The house dominates the village and offers privacy.The living room opens on the terase for a magnificet view. Two dining rooms, one with the fireplace. Small kitchen with all modern facilities, on the first floor 3 double bedrooms, two bathrooms with shower. The house is rustic and simple, and ideal for lovers of Robinson's type holidays. The Villa has 2 stars, it is not a luxury stay. There is no air-conditioning, only fans. The Villa is also available for long term rent.

A gem
The house is beautiful with incredible views only a minute walk from a small shop where one can access all amenities. Mariana, our host was friendly, kind and patient. The beds are comfortable and the kitchen is well appointed. The walk down to the beach is steep, so bring sensible shoes!

Zwischen Himmel und Meer
Es war sehr schön! Mariana empfing uns sehr zuvorkommend und war immer erreichbar, wenn wir etwas fragen wollten! Das Haus liegt ruhig, ein Schlafzimmer mit Bad hat eine eigene kleine Treppe, die beiden anderen Schlafzimmer liegen mit Bad nebeneinander. Der stille Ort bietet einen fantastischen Blick, mit Oliven- und Weinhängen, Lavendel und Rosmarin und natürlich dem Meer. Dahinter liegen die Berge (bis 500 m), üppige, blühende Vegetation rundherum. Sehr komfortabel: 150 m sind es vom Haus zu Fuß zu einem kleinen Supermarkt (der von früh bis abends durchgehend geöffnet hatte) mit Angeboten für den täglichen Bedarf (Lebensmittel, Brot, Getränke, Obst, Gemüse und Eis und einiges mehr). Rent-a-boat (telefonische Vorbestellung am Hafen, an dem auch gemütliche Restaurants warten). Kleine ruhige Badebuchten fanden wir in der Nähe. 15 Minuten Autofahrt sind es bis zu den charmanten kleinen Hafenorten Jelsa oder Vrboska auf der nördlichen Inselseite mit traditionellem, ruhigem Flair, oder über Land und Plantagen hin nach Stari Grad oder in das mondäne, lebhaftere Hvar mit seinen zahllosen Restaurants, mittelalterlichen Gassen und den vorgelagerten Inselchen mit ihren kleinen Buchten.

Wonderful mix of old and new!
The villa is lovely! It’s a wonderful mix of old and new and has a stunning view! Mariana is extremely helpful and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay! We had a fabulous time on Hvar and are so happy we chose the villa to stay at!
