Description of Halekai
Welcome to our little slice of heaven overlooking the tropical waters of the pacific. This property is located in the quiet little town of Laie on the part of the Island that is what you expect Hawaii to be.
This newly remodeled property in Jan 2016 has 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. The master suite is the entire upstairs with french doors that open onto a massive lanai enjoy relaxing with these mind blowing ocean views. Halekai’s all new kitchen with new appliances are on the ground floor toward the back with French doors open to the patio and large grass back yard with steps to a secluded deck and then into the water. Impeccably decorated. Every room in the Halekai has a beautiful view. Unlike the crowded busy streets of Waikiki and Honolulu, the property has amazing ocean view and surrounded by jungle covered mountains. This side of the island is much more quiet and less touristy so you can actually enjoy the sounds of the ocean and nature without all the crowds of Waikiki. Still the town of Laie has everything you need, good food and is home to the World Famous Polynesian Cultural Center. The Halekai has all the things you need to enjoy your Hawaiian getaway in comfort.
This is one of the few north shore beaches where you can play in the water from your back door with kids and still surf the outer reefs on a large swell day . Winter brings high surf to North Shore, but Bath Tub Beach is swimmable year round. This is due to the many reefs that soften & absorb the big waves as they come to shore. The Bath Tub allows for many activities in the safety and shelter of the reef. The bath tub has a sandy bottom and calm clear water so you can learn to paddle, swim and snorkle with out the threat of waves. Or you can just sit on the deck and watch the fish swim by. You will feel close to some of the island's gems while still being able to have your own, private Hawaii experience. Spectacular ocean views for miles out. Even a rainy day in Laie brings beautiful rainbows to your view. Sleep to the roar of the ocean. Watch surfers and wind surfers from your back windows. Watch for the whales, turtles and sting rays swim by from the decks. Or if your lucky you will wake up to Sugar Girl our sweat monk seal sleeping on top of the reef after her all night feeding. Be quite because she will leave when she wakes up.
We the owners are available to you throughout your entire stay, just a phone call/text away you can learn all about the hot spots on island as well as purchase tickets to local attractions, the best restaurants, ect.
Halekai is on a beautiful ocean front which provides tenants completely newly furnished kitchens, high-end linens, towels, beach towels, beach chairs, flat screen HDTV's, Netflix, cable, dvd players, free wireless high speed internet, complimentary washer & dryers with detergent and softener, large outdoor grill to use on the front or back yards.
Endless activities include snorkeling, swimming, lounging on beach or decks, fishing, complimentary 2 person kayak, hiking, watching sunrises & sunsets, surfing and body boarding along with whale watching in winter months and so much more right out your front and back doors. With 2 local grocery stores nearby, you won't even need to leave our beautiful Halekai! Aloha!

About the host
Hosted by Rusty James

We are family of 6 Hoales from the mainland. I went to college at UH in 1991 and wanted to get back to the island ever since. We love adventure and Hawaii give us this.
Why they chose this property
We love to travel and move our family to enjoy the true culture of every place we move to. We moved here 2 1/2 years ago and loved it so much that we needed to make this our permanent hub. We purchased Halekai mid 2015. We still travel but we always came back to our favorite place here in Laie.
