Stone Cottage with Pool & EV charger - heart of Burgundy/Champagne countryside

Restored Old Stone Cottage set in the heart of countryside on the border between Burgundy and Champagne surrounded by forests, vineyards and an abundance of wildlife. The last house in a beautifully quaint traditional French village.

West of the famous wine village Chablis and north of Beaune. There is plenty to do if venturing out and about although a car is essential. A 4 hour easy drive south from Calais passing through Reims (famous for its major Champagne houses).

There are 3 beautiful rustic style bedrooms, all with original exposed oak beams. One king size bedroom, one double and one twin. Each room is personally decorated with its own rustic style. The perfect place to relax and unwind.

There is plenty to do when out and about but a car is essential. We now have an electric car charger for exclusively for guest use - Wallbox Copper SB 7 KW (chargeable).

The cottage is in a rural location and is perfect for a relaxing break with bread, cheese, wine and sun lounger in the garden (log fire in winter). The location is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts with occasional sightings very late at night or early morning of fox cubs, coypu, field mice in the garden and even deers and wild boar in the surrounding fields.

Fantastic house

We had a fantastic couple of weeks in this lovely property. The house is very well equipped, superbly located and offers a great place to unwind and get away from it all. Charlotte is a fantastic host providing massive amounts of useful information, responds to questions very promptly and nothing seems like too much trouble.

Really nice get-away in the burgundy countryside

The cottage is a beautifully designed traditional stone house in the calm French countryside. Apart from the elegant interior with the cozy fireplace and lots of natural wood, the architecture of the house allowed us to enjoy a holiday together while having individual places of retreat. The kitchen and the outside bbq set you up for preparing lovely food. The village itself is rather small and quiet, but the trout farm willprovife perfectly fresh fish. Apart from that the scenic surroundings invite you to long walks. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely come back!

Loverly quiet stay

This is a typical French country house with a nice touch of British style. It is spacious with a large garden and simple but effective pool. We appreciated the outdoor fridge on the porch and the shed with a freezer, complete kitchen and two bathrooms. It does get hot in the attick but every room has a fan. It is a very quiet place, great to get away from daily life. Shops and activities are a bit of a drive to get to, nature is there in abundancy. Communication with the owner via Whatsapp was pleasant and very quick.

Home from home

The charming property lies at the edge of a small village (so a car essential). Very peaceful - lovely a quiet. Dark nights and no light pollution so great seeing the bats etc. The cottage itself was well presented and gave great flexibility of space. Sadly the weather wasn’t kind for our stay but the space allowed 3 teens ample room not to annoy each other! Rooms simply and rustically decorated. We found the accommodation well equipped (although we had to get the instructions out to use the oven). The swimming pool kept the boys entertained and the lovely wrap-around garden meant when that sun did shine you could follow it. The wet weather did hinder some of our plans but we all enjoyed the wonderful visit to Troyes and even driving to the supermarkets (which we varied) we loved the beautiful countryside. Overall we loved our stay and would love to visit again if possible. The accommodation and our hosts were very welcoming. Recommended

Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt, dazu hat auch der ausreichend große Pool beigetragen.Das Häuschen von Charlotte ist sehr gemütlich und rustikal eingerichtet.Es war alles da, was wir für eine entspannte Woche gebraucht haben.Auch unser Hund konnte sich im eingezäuntem Garten frei bewegen und hat das tägliche Bad in der Aube genossen.Schade nur, dass der kleine Laden im Ort geschlossen hat und der Bäcker im Nachbarort wohl sehr unregelmäßig öffnet - wir haben ihn immer nur geschlossen vorgefunden.Demnach waren die Einkaufsmöglichkeiten mindestens 10 km entfernt.Sonst aber alles sehr schön, wir würden wieder kommen.

We had a great time

Die Zeit im Cottage haben wir sehr genossen. Es wurde wirklich liebevoll restauriert und man hat eher den Eindruck im Haus von Freunden zu wohnen, als in einem Ferienhaus, zum Beispiel weil es sehr gut ausgestattet ist mit Küchenutensilien und Brettspielen. Das Cottage liegt sehr ländlich und damit sehr ruhig. Von dort kann man auch gut Ausflüge machen (beispielsweise nach Troyes, Chablis, Champagne, Parc national de forêts, Beaune). Der Kontakt zur Vermieterin war unkompliziert und sehr freundlich. Eines der drei Schlafzimmer erreicht man nur durch ein anderes Schlafzimmer. Diese beiden Zimmer sind mit einer Tür verbunden. Das war uns nicht klar (habe ich vielleicht überlesen), war für uns aber in Ordnung und kann ja auch gewünscht sein bei kleineren Kindern. Der Garten ist groß und bietet viel Platz zum Spielen. Er ist hundesicher eingezäunt. Ansonsten haben wir weder innen noch außen wahrgenommen, dass dort immer mal wieder Hunde sind. Bemerkenswert fand ich auch den "black folder" der umfassende Informationen zum Cottage enthält - sehr hilfreich.

Wunderschönes Haus in ruhiger Umgebung

Wunderschönes und liebevoll renoviertes Haus in einem kleinen verschlafenen Dorf. Die Eigentümer haben hier ein kleines Idyll erschaffen, in dem es an nichts mangelt. Wir waren zu zweit mit vier Hunden und hatten massig Platz. Schöner großer Garten, absolut ruhig und uneinsehbar. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet, an Gartenmöbeln ist alles da, was man braucht. In der direkten Umgebung kann man sehr schöne Spaziergänge machen. Wer die Ruhe liebt, ist an diesem Ort genau richtig. Wir haben den Urlaub sehr genossen, haben uns sehr gut erholt und kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Schöner Urlaub mit viel Entspannung am Pool

Wir haben eine schöne entspannte Woche hier verbracht und in dieser Zeit vor allem den Garten und insbesondere den Pool genutzt. Lage und Ausstattung des Hauses sind wie in der Beschreibung angegeben. Das Haus ist gut ausgestattet, vor allem die Küche. Im Garten und auf der Terrasse lässt sich tagsüber und abends sehr schön sitzen. Die Aufteilung der Schlafzimmer war für uns leider nicht optimal. Das eine Zimmer mit Doppelbett ist in einer anderen Ecke des Hauses und das andere ist das Durchgangszimmer zum Kinderschlafzimmer. Das war am Ende kein Problem, kann aber ein wichtiges Detail sein. Wie zu erwarten, kann man im Ort selber nicht viel machen, es gibt aber einen Supermarkt und einen Ort weiter einen guten kleinen Bäcker. Als Ausflusgsziel mit Kindern ist Nigloland sehr empfehlenswert. Die Kommunikation mit Charlotte lief immer sehr gut. Vielen Dank dafür und die vielen bereitgestellten Informationen. Wir können das Haus als Urlaubsziel nur empfehlen, wenn man nach einem so ruhigen und abgeschiedenen Objekt sucht.

Wunderbare 2 Wochen!!

Wir haben unseren 2wöchigen Aufenthalt in dem geräumigen Ferienhaus und dem wunderbar großen Garten sehr genossen! Die Abgeschiedene Lage war uns im Vorfeld bewusst und hat uns gefallen. Dem Hund auch! Der Pool und der Tischkicker waren die Highlights für die Kinder, für uns waren es die Abende und die tollen nächtlichen Sternenhimmel! A great spot for a relaxing holiday escape: beautiful garden, on the edge of a quiet village, surrounded by farming countryside. The interior of the house is somewhat dated but everything you need for a holiday stay is there.

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable dans cette maison traditionnelle bourguignonne. Si vous voulez déconnecter et vous ressourcer en famille au son des oiseaux vous êtes au bon endroit! La maison est très bien agencée et dispose de toutes les commodités. Le seul bémol peut-être est relatif à l’emplacement puisque de nombreuses attractions alentours sont dans un rayon d’environ une heure de voiture. A recommander vivement néanmoins, merci Charlotte!

Sommer 2019

Wir verbrachten 14 wunderbare Tage in Veuxhaulles. Das Haus entsprecht voll den Bildern. Es ist geräumig und urgemütlich. Toll eingerichtet. Wir wurden mit einem sehr schönen Wilkommenskorb ( Wein, Marmelade, Milch , Kaffe usw.) sehr nett begrüßt. Wir haben uns von Anfang an sehr wohl gefühlt! Den Pool und den großen Garten haben wir sehr genossen. Viele Ausflüge z.B nach( Langres , Chatillion s/S, ,Chaumont, Tonnere, Abbaye de Fontenay / Clairvaux ) sind relativ schnell zu erreichen. Der nächste Supermarkt ist ca. 16 km entfernt. Insgesamt ein toller Urlaub, in einer tollen Umgebung ( Auto erforderlich) in einem tollen Haus! Wir kommen bestimmt wieder!!

Stressvakantie

Het huis voor een week gehuurd, uiteindelijk maar 1 nacht gebleven. Zaterdag toegekomen, zondag weer naar huis. Het huis was helemaal niet proper, het stof zag je liggen op en onder de kasten. Spinnenwebben (sommigen al jaren oud) overal, kledingstukken van vorige huurders laten liggen, teennagels gevonden,... 's Avonds een muis zien lopen door het huis, aan de inkom overal mieren die uit het hout komen en boven op de slaapkamers zelfs vliegende mieren. De afsluiting van de tuin is niet meer volledig, hondjes kunnen ontsnappen. We waren 5 volwassenen, 1 baby van 8 maanden en 3 hondjes. Zeer mooi huis en alles aanwezig, maar zeer slecht onderhouden. Spijtig..

My husband and I bought the cottage in 2007 as our holiday home. We have undertaken extensive renovations to make it the beautifully rustic warm cottage it is today. Since 2007 our family has grown with the addition of 1 child and 3 dogs and the cottage continues to suit everyone. 2017 saw the construction of a new above above ground wooden (which we plan to have available for guests from May to September)

The cottage is our family holiday home. It is fully equipped with everything you should need for a nice stay. An easy drive from Calais - just under 4 hours.

Perfect for a relaxing break in the countryside. An ideal retreat for summer or winter and a perfect (almost half way) stopover from the UK to the Alps or Southern France.

What makes this property unique

A relaxing retreat all year round. The large wrap around garden is perfect for the summer with its outside under cover dining and BBQ area, and the cosy double sided log burning stove is perfect for romantic winter breaks. The location is perfect for wildlife enthusiasts with occasional sightings of fox cubs, deers, coypu, field mice and lots more in the garden and surrounding fields.
