About this property
Homestead, Lyme Regis is a cosy riverside cabin, 10 mins walk from the beach
Overlooking the River Lim, Homestead is a wooden cabin built in 1915 and recently refurbished to a high standard. This cosy and comfortable home, retaining much of its original charm, provides a perfect base for holidays in Lyme Regis. Footpaths along the tranquil River Lim provide an attractive and easy walk to the seafront, shops, pubs and restaurants, or, heading upstream, walking routes in the beautiful surrounding countryside including the Wessex Ridgeway long distance route. The living room is cosy and comfortable, with a wood-burning stove. There is a sun room at the front of the property providing a lovely spot for relaxing, looking at the river, and watching the world go by. Off-road parking for a medium sized car is available on the property's driveway. Please note the access is awkward. Parents of young children should note the terraced garden and proximity of the river. Monday or Friday changeover.

Second visit here and as our first visit for us Homestead is the only place to stay in Lyme. The accommodation is perfect in all aspects; and it’s just a short pleasant walk into Lyme.We will be back.
Sheenas cabin was a perfect beach side cabin. It was lovely to walk along the river to reach the beach and township. The cabin itself was absolutely spotless and even roomier than the photos showed. We loved being able to eat out or cook up our own meals in the kitchen which had everything we needed. We had a fantastic stay here as it was close to everything - no car was needed!
Stunning property on the eye, in a tranquil location short stroll to the town. Everything we needed to make our stay perfect at Homestead.
The host had ensured everything was in place for our stay. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here, we left with fond memories. Thank you Sheena.
Homestead was clean tidy and comfortable, and was well equipped with everything you need for a self catering holiday. Definitely recommend. A very short walk into Lyme Regis with all its independent shops, cafes etc. The Town Mill and Lyme Regis Museum are well worth visiting. One thing to note, the parking at Homestead is tight as is mentioned in the description so take care.
Homestead was home from home for three weeks. Sheena is a wonderful host. The cottage was perfectly clean, is very well equipped with everything one might need. The goodies in the fridge were much appreciated! The location is close to the centre of Lyme, the beach and the restaurants. Parking is a bit tight but manageable. The private charger made life really easy for us.
Lovely property with everything you need, and fantastic location.
Everything you need for a self catering holiday, clean modern property next to a river. Great location, just a 10 min walk along the river to the town and beach.
Homestead is a great find. It's cosy, well equipped riverside cottage. It is a close walk into Lyme Regis, which makes it very convenient. Would certainly recommend.
Very well equipped comfortable property that makes the most of its available space. Excellent position for Lyme that is an easy and pleasant walk along the river
I will definitely be looking to return for a longer stay
A beautiful property we have been here a number of times and love it we can just park up for the week and walk along the river upstream to the countryside of down stream to lyme beautiful
We moved to Lyme Regis from rural Derbyshire in 2010 to be closer to family and the beautiful Dorset coast. Homestead is a family venture, owned jointly with my brother and managed by myself and my husband Ben with assistance from our three girls and various friends and family. We enjoy sharing Homestead with visitors and giving more people the opportunity to visit this beautiful corner of the England.
Why they chose this property
Homestead is only 5 minutes from our own home in Lyme Regis; a place that we love sharing with friends and family when they come to visit. It is in a fantastic setting on the River Lim and its cabin structure has that lovely seaside feel.
