Farmhouse in Le Lindois, Confolens, Charente, Poitou-Charentes, France
About Roger Thomas
It took me 18 months to find the right property but since the purchase in 2012 I've thought I definitely chose well every time I go back. I use the property several times a year, it could be the proximity of the Golf de Preze or the sound of the migrating geese or the delicious food and wine. My family love the place and many friends have visited over the last two years. I'm retired and extremely pleased to have found a plumber/electrician and builder all in one to do the bits of maintenance because me and a spanner are definitely not a match made in heaven!
Roger Thomas purchased this Farmhouse in 2012
Why Roger Thomas chose Le Lindois
Perfect size for letting to families and small groups. The garden is large and secure enough for kids to play whilst mum and dad sit under the gazebo by the lovely pool. Getting there can be fly/drive using Limoges or Bordeaux or can be one days drive from the channel ports.
What makes this Farmhouse unique
The property has been furnished as a second home so there are many comforts and interests catered for. There are bikes for exercise and enjoyment to balance the resting and lazing by the pool in the summer sun.

Definitely worth a return visit
Four of us turned up on Saturday afternoon to be greeted by a lovely clean house and a very generous welcome pack of goodies. We were in the gorgeous pool within 30 minutes and actually spent a large part of our holiday there!
Beds and linen were all very comfortable with plenty of towels for us all. Kitchen was well stocked and the bar-b-que was well used.
The situation was very quiet, so a bit of a hike to the boulangerie but that was made up for by the lovely garden and the wildlife! We were lucky enough to spot, amongst all the lizards, a hedgehog and a snake!
A forty minute drive to Limoges airport (very easy) to pick up our last family member was about as far as we went, apart from a couple of market and canoeing trips and one lake visit. There is plenty at the house to make everyone welcome and the people onsite when needed were very helpful! Can't fault it! Thanks very much Roger
Lovely holiday home in a tranquil setting
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Veda. The house had everything we needed, the beds were very comfortable and the garden and pool area was beautiful. We especially liked the raised patio where we had breakfast most mornings and enjoyed the pergola with candles in the evening. A real home from home in a beautiful hamlet setting. The bikes were very welcome and we enjoyed exploring the local area. We found the region very tourist friendly and local restaurants were excellent. You have a lovely home Roger and we look forward to returning again in the future. Alison, Paul and Beth
Excellent service from Owner (from start to end) and Caretaker.
Well equipped, spacious and comfortable. Kitchen a pleasure to cook in.
Wide variety of DVD's CD's etc.
Very varied welcome pack.
Gazebo seating area around pool fabulous.
Enjoyed watching the family of owls on the barn opposite.
Lucky enough to see the water lilies and frog in the small pond.
Would not hesitate to return.

There are many and varied leisure activities to be found in the area, even beaches and watersports!
Horse riding, karting, canoeing, walking, cycling, tenpin bowling are some of the things you can get up to but whatever you do find time for watching the wildlife and the sky from the garden.
Limoges is one of the nearest large towns and has a variety of museums including the Adrien Dubouche Museum of Porcelain.
The town of Ordour sur Glane is also nearby, probably more moving than visiting the Normandy beaches or the many cemeteries in Northern France
