Golden Cottage - Town Centre, near Beach with Free Parking and WiFi

Available to rent all year round, Golden Cottage is an immaculately presented, three storey detached holiday cottage perfectly situated in a central but peaceful town centre location in Sidmouth, Devon. In under two minutes you can walk from your front door to the beach and all the shops, cafes and restaurants of this beautiful seaside town. Golden Cottage is the ideal Sidmouth holiday home!

Golden Cottage can sleep five people in three bedrooms and all linens and towels are included in the rental fee. There is free parking for one car in the cottage's private driveway and free WiFi is also provided.

The property offers a spacious modern kitchen with dining space for up to six people. The recently revamped living room contains two large sofas and an armchair with plenty of space for relaxing in front of the traditionally styled gas fire and 43-inch smart TV. We also provide a DVD / Blu-ray player with a selection of films and a Bluetooth speaker for playing your own music. There is also a south-facing walled courtyard garden with outdoor seating and sun loungers.

The cottage has been recently redecorated and we often receive comments about the high standard of furnishings including the quality and comfort of our memory foam mattresses - you will be assured of a restful night's sleep!

Our self catering holiday rental is available to let all year round on a weekly basis, with short breaks in low season. All enquiries are welcome.

A really lovely property in a fantastic location - perfect for exploring Sidmouth and the local area. Despite some terrible weather, we enjoyed getting to know the town and being so central meant that we didn't need to use the car - a real bonus! Little gem

Golden Cottage is a very unassuming property but the interior is superbly appointed and perfect for a family getaway. The living area is comfortable and the gas fire a welcome addition on colder nights. Bedrooms were really comfortable and beds were dressed with high quality linen. The location is perfect with the sea front and shops only a short walk away. One major plus is that this cottage has its own car parking space which is a rare for a property so close to the town centre. We will definitely book again.

A delightful Cottage in the Heart of Sidmouth

This cottage was so well equipped, and worked very well for us, which considering we were a family of 3 adults and 2 children was wonderful. The location was perfect, 3 minutes walk to the beach, 2 minutes walk to the town and a delicious bakery just around the corner. It was really well equipped and thoughtfully and comfortably furnished. We are already making plans to return and stay here next year. The cottage was perfectly situated for all local amenities - all within walking distance. The bedrooms worked out perfectly as my daughter had the single room on the second floor next door to my two grandsons and I had the double on the first floor. We were lucky to have good weather. The directions to and access to the cottage were very good.

Autumn Break in Sidmouth

Golden Cottage is in an ideal location for a visit to Sidmouth and the surrounding area. The cottage is beautifully presented and exceptionally clean. The owners are easy to contact and access to the property was very straight forward. The note from the owner and some basic supplies were much appreciated after our long journey. Lovely beach house

The house has all you need for a stay at the beach. The kitchen is well equipped so you can cook if you don't want to eat out. The beach nick nacks and pictures are a lovely touch. The instructions given, including advice to reverse into the parking space, were spot on. Everything you need is within walking distance including the beach front, the byes footpath, the town centre and a lovely pub. Even better for us it was just around the corner from Evangel Church that we always worship at when in Sidmouth. I will be booking to stay here again when we next visit Sidmouth.

Comfortable lodgings, near everything with easy parking

Everything you need in a great location with tasteful decoration throughout. On-site parking is easy (we have had other rentals in Sidmouth where parking was non-existant or very tricky). Clean and well organised house with all the info you need in a handy folder. No TV channels but there was access to some player services which kept the tired kids happy after long days of walks on the beach. Great location for access to Fun Time at the local swimming pool. A fabulous winter break to see family locally.

Atmosphere, Positioning and Kind

Our stay at Golden Cottage began a few hours earlier than expected as we arrived in Sidmouth a couple of hours early. As there was no one leaving the property that day the hosts very kindly allowed us admission. The house has a peaceful atmosphere and feels welcoming. There’s plenty of room for 5 people, one being a 4 year old and an additional baby (making 6). It’s safe, clean and light. The Cottage is within walking distance to everything in the town while still being in a quiet street. The park and beach are beautiful and only a two minute walk away. We will definitely return here.

An excellent location for the shops and only five minutes walk from the sea front.

Great location for all amenities. The cottage is warm and comfortable, but for older people of the group the stairs could be a challenge to the upper floor bedrooms. Bathroom has both a shower and bath, the bath being a pleasant surprise and we also appreciated our welcome gifts of biscuits and apple juice. It has a wonderful fire to keep you nice and toasty should you wish to visit in the winter months. We would definately stay again.

Alex is the third generation in his family to have been born and raised in Sidmouth. Alex and his wife Lizzy now live in London, but are keen to maintain their connections with Sidmouth so that their own children can still appreciate this wonderful town. Alex's parents still live and work here and relish visits from their grandchildren who also love their holidays by the sea!

Why they chose this property

We wanted to buy a house that was near the town centre and beach as this really is the best location when holidaying in Sidmouth! Being able to step outside your door and walk to the seafront rather than worrying about where to park is priceless. Being in town, it is so convenient to be able to pop out to all the wonderfully unique shops and boutiques in Sidmouth, not to mention the array of quaint cafes, fine restaurants and traditional pubs. The cottage is also close to The Byes - a peaceful and shady riverside walk when you want to get away from it all.

What makes this property unique

Golden Cottage is centrally located so it is convenient for all local amenities. The cottage benefits from it's own private parking space right outside the front door which is invaluable as finding parking near the shops, restaurants and beach can otherwise be difficult and expensive. The cottage is just two minutes walk from both the beach and the high street, so once you arrive at Golden Cottage you can forget the car and spend your holiday enjoying all the many delights of the town and seafront on foot.
