About this property
2 bedroom period cottage in charming seaside village
Recently renovated, Thornbank Cottage is a cosy semi-detached cottage dating from the 1760's in the heart of the historic Borders village of Coldingham on the Berwickshire coast. Our home is a perfect place for a family holiday or for a group of friends to explore one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland.
The cottage has been recently refurbished to a high standard and is warm and comfortable with double glazing, underfloor heating, radiators and a log burning stove in the sitting room.
Upstairs there is accommodation for four guests in two bedrooms, one with a king sized bed and one with two single beds. There is also a new bathroom with bath and power shower.
Downstairs is a sitting room with log burning stove and smart TV, with Freesat. Comfortable sofas seat six. After a hard day at the beach or rambling along the coast or inland you can relax with a film, a family board game or keep up to date with friends and family through the Wifi internet. The kitchen / dining room is fully equipped, including fridge freezer, oven and grill, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine plus a dining table for up to six guests.
There is also a south facing sun-room, with chaise longue, arm chairs and a beanbag. This room leads to the secluded south facing patio garden with seating for outdoor eating and relaxing. The rear garden has a shed and storage area for bikes or for cleaning wetsuits or surfboards. At the front is a sunny garden and there is also off street parking.
All linen and towels are provided, but you should bring your own towels for the beach. There are also the basics you need to cater for yourselves such as olive oil, salt and pepper, flour, pasta, kitchen roll, toilet paper etc. All we ask is that if you use a lot of the supplies, that you replace what you've used.
If you would like to have groceries delivered to the cottage after you have arrived, then Sainsburys, Asda, Morrisons and Tesco all deliver. So, just order your shopping on line and it will arrive while you are settling in.
The cottage has recently been awarded a Short Term Let Licence. Our licence number is: SB00067F

About the host
Hosted by Milda

I live in Edinburgh with my husband and son. My main work is as a Leadership Development Consultant and I work with many different industries and clients based around the world. I work from home which gives me lots of flexibility which I enjoy. Apart from work, my main interest is music - particularly singing.
Why they chose this property
We bought this property because we love the village of Coldingham - it has lots of amenities, it's close to the sea (having grown up in the middle of England, I love being near the sea!) and it's also close to lots of beautiful countryside. The cottage is such a warm, welcoming place - we loved it as soon as we saw it.
What makes this property unique
We've set up the cottage to be a home from home. You can use to kitchen to bake, cook and hang out in! It's relaxing, comfortable and cosy - so it's the perfect place to take a break whatever the weather. There are games, videos, music - lots of entertainments just in case the weather is against you! We love staying there as well as offering it as a fabulous place for a break for our guests.
