Included in your stay is a gas grill with propane, all bedding, towels and linens as well as a 55" Smart TV, WiFi and internet streaming service.

Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore begins in Munising, which is only a 15 minute drive away and there are over a dozen waterfalls within a 30 mile radius of this home. The National Lakeshore provides days worth of outdoor activities and adventures. Nearby AuTrain Lake and AuTrain River provide a wonderful place to enjoy swimming, water sports, fishing or a relaxing paddle. The AuTrain River provides excellent swimming where it empties into Lake Superior, and kayaking as it winds 7+ miles through the Hiawatha National Forest. Kayak rentals are available, otherwise feel free to bring your own, there is plenty of space to park your boat, trailer or whatever you bring. If you are into fishing, Bass, Walleye or Pike are your most commonly fished in AuTrain Lake, and Trout and Salmon in Lake Superior. Kayaks are available for rent.

I have seen nearly everything in this area and am a great resource during your stay. I will meet with you after you arrive and give you advice about the area and things you can enjoy during your vacation.

HUSBANDS 60TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION
THE HOUSE LOCATION RIGHT ON THE LAKE WAS FABULOUS..WE ENJOYED ALL OF THE WATERFALLS AND LIGHT HOUSES IN THE AREA. IT WAS EASY TO FIND AND ENJOYED OUR STAY. WE DID HAVE A FEW ISSUES THOUGH. WE DIDN'T ARRIVE UNTIL AFTER MIDNIGHT AND WHEN WE GOT THERE, THE WATER WAS NOT WORKING. I DID NOT WANT TO CALL THE PROPERTY MANAGER SO LATE SO MY HUSBAND WHO IS VERY MECHANICALLY INCLINED THOUGHT TO CHECK THE FUSE BOX AND THE BREAKER FOR THE WATER WAS OFF SO THAT FIXED THAT. WE WERE TOLD TO PUT OUR GARBAGE IN THE DUMPSTER WHICH WE COULD FIND BETWEEN THE HOUSE AND THE GARAGE. THERE WAS NOT ONE TO BE FOUND.. IT SHOWED UP 2 DAYS LATER AT THE END OF THE DRIVEWAY. WE WERE GOING TO GRILL CHICKEN ON THE GRILL AND THE GAS WAS EMPTY SO I CALLED TO FIND OUT IF THERE WAS ANOTHER TANK SOMEWHERE...I GET A RECORDED MESSAGE SAYING THEY WERE BUSY AND TO LEAVE A MESSAGE OR TO TEXT THAT NUMBER SO I AM STILL WAITING FOR A RESPONS TO MY TEXT MESSAGE THAT WAS 4 DAYS AGO. WILL WE GO BACK TO MUNISING FOR VACATION, ABSOLUTELY. WILL WE STAY AT THIS PROPERTY AGAIN PROBABLY NOT

Family Holiday
Four generations enjoyed this beautiful location for an unseasonably warm early March weekend. Plenty of room to make memories and still have your own space to breathe. Open floor plan was perfect for cooking, eating and playing games together without being too crowded. The view of the lake is phenomenal. The location is close to plenty of outdoor activities for the entire family.

Beautiful location on the shore of Lake Superior
Overall we had a positive experience. The location was great and there are so many winter activities to keep an active family busy. The property was clean and the kitchen well stocked. Our only negative (and it’s a biggy) is that the lower level, which has 3 of the bedrooms and 2 baths, as well as a family sitting/TV room was virtually unheated. The exterior door was ill fitting, letting in so much cold air. There was a gas fireplace, but when we attempted to start it, it set off the carbon monoxide detector. We quickly shut that down! A suggestion to the owner, invest in 4 electric oil heaters, 1 for each of the bedrooms downstairs, as well as the sitting area. We were unable to use the downstairs except for sleeping and used all the extra blankets provided. We luckily had a warmish weekend, and I can’t imagine if the temperature had been the normal for late January.

Excellent customer service
Good house that’s a bit smaller than the pictures. Still big enough for us. And it’s an upside down house which might make a difference for older/less able folk. A bit worn and tired but everything was clean. We had a hard time with tv and finding key and owner response was immediate!

Plain and simply, I am a Yooper. I live locally year round and am a wealth of knowledge when it comes to exploring our area. I graduated high school and college here and I am an avid outdoors-man, I camp, hike, bike, kayak, ski, snowshoe, ATV, motorcycle, snowmobile and Jeep nearly the entire U.P. and if you have heard of it, chances are I've been there, or done that. I also know some places 'slightly off the radar' if you are looking to get away from the tourist areas. Just ask, I'll be happy to give you advice.

Why they chose this property

I was a transplant to this area during high school years ago and left then came back. I couldn't stay away forever, this area is unlike any other. Sure there are beautiful places all over the country, but no matter where you are from, this place is special beyond words... My family and I moved here in 1995 and my mother lives here to this day. She is renting it for the summer months and will move back in during the Fall. I own/manage 9 other properties here in AuTrain and have done so since 2009. Since that time, I have been providing people a great place to stay, and the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful area.

What makes this property unique

It is on the shores of Lake Superior. 3 miles away is one of the best beaches in all of Michigan, and 15 minutes away is Pictured Rocks, dozens of waterfalls, hundreds of miles of hiking trails, biking trails and ATV/snowmobiling trails.
