Typical Andalusian farmhouse surrounded by olive and fruit trees
Cortijo Montano is a typical Andalusian stone house surrounded by 10 hectares of olive trees (of which we make our own oil) and fruit trees, almond trees, pomegranates, orange trees, quinces ... which is reached by a dirt road .
Inside, cozy and warm, we have tried to keep the essence of Andalusia in all its components: on its roofs, with exposed beams; in its doors and windows, made of solid wood; in the typical ceramics of Baeza (a World Heritage city, only 10 kilometers away), in the typical headboards of the Sevillian tradition, and in general in all our furniture, unique pieces, antiques recovered, from the family or bought in different markets . A rural and rustic atmosphere that is combined with all the comforts of a contemporary house: fully equipped kitchen, air conditioning in all rooms, wifi, barbecue, pool
In full nature is the perfect place to enjoy a stay with family or friends with all the privacy, to spend good times around your fireplace; to organize breakfast on the porch, to take a dip in the pool, surrounded by olive trees; or going to pick up the fruit of the trees yourself.
It is only 300 kilometers from Madrid, and approximately 100 from Granada and Cordoba, 10 from Baeza, 17 from Úbeda and very close to Cástulo, Ibero-Roman city

We had a lovely stay at Cortijo Montano. The house is beautifully decorated, and with everything you need. One highlight was having almond and peach trees all around the house, which meant that the children had great fun picking and eating peaches for breakfast. The pool was a delight in the hot afternoons. Baeza and Ubeda are two extraordinarily beautiful towns, just a short hop away, and a trip to the Sierra de Cazorla is great - excellent walking. And, of course, the olive oil is truly amazing. We'd love to stay again.

Christopher, thank you very much for your words. We are extremly happy that you and your family had such a lovely time in the house and enjoyed the property in this way. We also appreciate that you had the time to visit the area, and you liked it. Thank you again, and we look forward seeing you soon.
We spent two weeks in this lovely early 19th century house, confortable but not "too much"; air conditionning in all bedrooms & living rooms worked fine & nice swimming pool and garden. A lot of nice attentions including fresh fruits (peach, pears etc..) brought to us a number of times and the swimming pool cleaned every morning :) . The location is quite remote in the middle of Olive tree fields. We enjoyed the house and made trips to Granada & Cordoba (just exceptionnal) but also much closer to Baeza and Ubeda which are two great smaller cities. All in all a great family time ... muchas gracias Arantxa

It was a big pleasure having Bertrand´s family at home. They are extremely polite and respectful since the very first moment. Very easy communication, exquisite education and curious travelers who wanted to take the most from the experience. Merci beaucoup, c'était un plaisir!
We just loved our stay in Arantxa's house, and it was one of the warmest welcomes we've ever had. Her uncle Manolo greeted us and later brought peaches and vegetables from his garden. With the help of a translation app on our phone, during a lovely walk, we learned a great deal about the farm from him, about olives from all over the world. He is a mensch of the region, dedicated to sustaining sites of significance, one of which is his extraordinary house, which we were deeply honored to be shown. Within 90 minutes you can be in Cordoba or Granada. Showing the children the Alhambra (and the mesquita) for the first time was extraordinary and important for us. The nearest town is Baeza (15 mins) and the nearest small city is Ubeda (25 minutes beautiful drive). The house is rustic, welcoming and solid, cool in the height of the summer as you can keep it fully shuttered during the height of the heat. Beds all very comfortable. The pool is very generous and the children were in it a lot every day. The ten of us sat on the porch in the mornings and evenings. Sometimes we cooked outside. Other times we had dinner in the nearby towns. The bedrooms are all airconditioned. Our experience of Manolo, Arantxa (whom we look forward to meeting!) and the Spanish people and their warmth and open heartedness is what we'll never forget. Before you go, be sure to read "Ornament of the World" by Maria Rosa Menocal. It heightens one's experience of the region tenfold. Thank you Manolo and Arantxa for a wonderful stay. xxoo
