I loved the location of this house. It is on a quiet back road in the midst of the woods, on the lake. Close enough to town & restaurants. Great area to enjoy the fall colors.
Autumn in the Northwoods
Beautiful setting - very quiet and peaceful! Great sunsets across the lake with loons, eagles, pillared woodpeckers, black squirrels and deer as regular visitors. Caught some real nice perch off the end of the pier as a bonus! Would definitely come back!
So glad you had a good time. Just let me know when you'd like to make a return engagement!
Awesome rental, great pier to fish off of, super quiet, close to everything...very clean👍
Thanks for leaving the place so immaculate, John. Come back any time!
Wonderful 3 night retreat
We had a wonderful time. I would suggest this property to anyone for a retreat. We would consider it again.
So glad you had a good time, Sandy. You were wonderful guests. I hope you'll come back sometime!
The cabin was very clean and pretty well appointed. Dealing with Anne was excellent. She was available and always helpful. The cabin location was also very good, which meant that the grounds were well kept and was very quiet. The minor negatives for me were:
1. It was over-priced for the size of the cabin. One main room and a bathroom.
2. Fishing off the wobbly dock wasn’t good. All weeds, so no swimming either.
3. Lots of boat traffic in front of pier.
4. TV was very old = small screen.
5 Wi-fi was spotty.
Over-all, my wife and I had a good time as there’s plenty to do in the area.
We enjoyed the quiet beauty of nature! We could have stayed another week.
Minocqua is one of Wisconsin's most popular vacation destinations. In the heart of the North Woods, with dozens of lakes in the area, it's a paradise for those who love to kayak, fish, bike, hike, waterski, go for cocktail cruises, or simply read a book on the dock. This property is a perfect combination of quiet privacy, a big beautiful lake, and a short drive to town. Downtown Minocqua is just 10 minutes away but the lack of drive-by traffic or other cottages makes it feel like you're in your own little world. And you're on the 1,100-acre Shishebogama/Gunlock lake chain, home to muskies, walleyes, northerns, bass and panfish galore. In other words, you're pretty close to heaven.
