“Oreiades Village” is a small, agro-touristic company offering high quality accommodation and recreational services. Our premises are situated in Plastiras’ lake, near Karditsa town, in Greece.

Plastiras lake is a big artificial lake which was constructed in 1959 and located in 750m altitude. It is very popular with visitors because of its wonderful natural landscape as well as the picturesque villages built on the slopes of the mountains around it. It also consists an ideal base for visiting the beautiful sites of the Thessaly region.

Our premises are 330 km away from Athens, 240 km away from Thessaloniki and 50 km away from Meteora. They include 9 double rooms, 2 houses that can accommodate 4 people each, a catering hall and an indoor heated pool. In Cooperation with nearby hotels (approved by us for their accommodation standard) enables us a total stay of 60 people.

In our catering hall we offer home made meals prepared with locally produced organic ingredients. Various versions of Greek breakfast are served and, upon request, can be adapted to customized needs (e.g. breakfast for athletes, Lenten breakfast, gluten free breakfast, traditional breakfast and so on). However, under no circumstances should you fail to try homemade wine, delicious pies, traditional sausages, trout from the lake and tasty local sweets.
As regards our recreational services, they include the following activities:

2. Ecotourism tours in:
• organic farms planted with various herbs
• wineries
• areas which abound in mushrooms and medicinal herbs

3. Visits to monasteries and other sites:
• Meteora monasteries: hand made monasteries on high cliffs.
• Pelekitis monastery: an exciting post Byzantine monument built on a sleep and high cliff of Pindos (1400 m).
• Botanical Garden: learn about their nutritional value.
• Bridge of Palaiokaria: an avowedly worth visiting bridge.
• Smokovos thermal springs: plenty of great facilities like spa and hydromassage available
• Stefaniada lake
• Plastiras’ Dam : 220m long with its breathtaking view.
• Hydroelectric Station.
• The Monastery of Korona whose altitude is 800m built by Emperor John Comnenus in the early 12th Century.

4. Gastronomy courses:
• Enjoy nourishing and tasty traditional dishes prepared by local cooks (owners of small restaurants).
• Learn how to prepare delicious traditional pies and sweets (lessons provided by local farmers).
