The apartment is on the top floor of a lovely old stone building in the heart of Montone, voted one of Italy's prettiest villages. The interior has been completely restored to provide light-filled, spacious and elegant accommodation for up to four people.

Apartment is fully furnished offering the same comfort as a hotel, equipped with everything you need to cook with, glasses and plates to olive oil & coffee, fresh bed linen and towels for the pool.

Sustainability & the planet: All our products are now organic, plant based and Vegan friendly. The toilet paper, kitchen paper, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand wash, soap, dish washing machine liquid, sink dish washing liquid, washing machine powder, and even the cleaning products our cleaners clean the apartment with. These are all supplied by local Italian company Winni's (winnis.it)

There is a master bedroom with a luxury marble-lined ensuite bathroom and a second bedroom with private bathroom. From every window there are wonderful views out over the buildings of Montone to the surrounding countryside. The living area opens to a little terrace, perfect for breakfast or evening drinks. Several excellent restaurants, cafes and bars are within strolling distance as are various food stores - grocery, butcher, bakery - and services including a post office, pharmacy, bank and newsagent.

The apartment is reached by a flight of stairs from the ground level main entrance but the apartment itself is all on one level.
The apartment is comfortable year-round, even in mid-winter, thanks to central heating, controlled by a Nest thermostat, a cast-iron wood-burning fire and underfloor heating in the bathrooms.

Montone is a perfect base for exploring Umbria and Tuscany - if you can tear yourselves away from the gentle pleasures of Montone itself and the comfort of the apartment.

The nearest town is Umbertide (ten minutes by car), a typical working Umbrian town, where you will find supermarkets and small food stores, two weekly produce markets, restaurants and services, including pharmacies, banks, and a hospital.

The nearest city is Perugia, which has an elegant pedestrian centre lined with shops and cafes and the National Gallery of Umbria.

Places to visit within an hour's drive of Montone include: Gubbio, Lake Trasimeno, Sansepolcro, Cortona, Assisi, Spello, Deruta (for ceramics) and many smaller towns. Florence is an easy day trip, especially if you drive to Arezzo and take the train from there to the centre of Florence. In under two hours you can reach the wine areas of Montepulciano and Montalcino, Orvieto and Siena.
