About this property

6 Seatown, Lossiemouth - a traditional fisherman's cottage in an ideal location

6 Seatown is a charming 1830s fisherman’s cottage in the historic Seatown area of Lossiemouth, set just across from the photogenic remains of the old bridge to East Beach. The coastal location offers immediate access to sandy shores, riverside woodland walks, and excellent spots for photography and wildlife watching. Inside, the cottage provides cosy ground-floor living with a king bedroom, bathroom, and open-plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, making it ideal for couples, small families, or guests with limited mobility. Upstairs a twin room and snug with a second TV suits children best, due to their low ceilings. Guests enjoy a sheltered private garden, Wi-Fi, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and on-street parking. Dogs are welcome and will love the walks from the door.

Return to a little piece of heaven

We stayed at 6 seatown last year as we wanted to try and experience the northern lights and we loved this little cottage so much that when we decided to return to Scotland to try and see the northern lights again there was absolutely no hesitation that seatown was where we wanted stay. This the most homely and cosy cottage you ever wish for and there is every single piece of equipment you could ever wish for. The cottage is in excellent condition and lovingly looked after. It’s a lovely little fisherman’s cottage that has the added bonus of being just across the road from the river and beach which my two dogs adored. They left completely exhausted from the most beach walks they have ever had. We have just returned from our visit to seatown and has already booked to go back next year. Sadly we didn’t see the aurora this year but we did last year.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, and warm cosy.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, nice warm and cosy. We had everything you would need in the cottage from basic food to washing machine and dishwasher. It was like home from home experience. Very peaceful and lovely surroundings.

Fabulous home from home

This was the ninth time we spend our holiday in this wonderful cozy and lovely cottage. The cottage is very well equipped; very nice furnished bedroom and bathroom downstairs. The kitchen has everything we need and the living room area is very comfortable. From previous trips we can say that the little stove is especially wonderful in winter time! This summer time we enjoyed the beautiful garden outside for breaks in the sun. Lovely! For us 6 Seatown is the nicest and best equipped holiday cottage we stayed in so far and we will be back soon, being home from home again. Lossiemouth itself is a little gem on the coast and has two incredible beaches that are great to take long walks. Nearby there are lots of things to explore, e.g. make a boat trip along the coast from Buckie to Cullen (Gemini Explorer), visit the Speyside area and see how the distilleries work, take a tour to Inverness or make a walk through Elgin and visit the cathedral.

About the host

Host profile image
Having grown up in Leiicester, about as far away from the sea as it is possible to get, it was an absolute joy to move up to Scotland with my husband Colin, in 2002 and we haven't looked back. We started with a guest house, but when that started to get complicated after the arrival of twins, we moved into the self catering side of tourism. Colin is now a kitchen and bathroom fitter/joiner which is very handy for maintenance and I have an unpaid second job as child taxi service, keeping any spare time for walking the dogs on the beach and coastal rowing!

Why they chose this property

Close to the beach and Lossie facilities, but in quiet and friendly Seatown area
