Secluded Relaxing Beach front home ~ New Private Golf cart Walkway !

Fun family style house with a private boardwalk to the beach, sleeps 10. This quaint home is VERY private and quiet it is only a 10 minute hop to Port Aransas or North Padre Island.

You'll never miss anything with this open kitchen! It brings everyone together with the living room area and kitchen bar it is the perfect set up for interaction!

The master bedroom has a nice big window to wake up to the sound of surf and gorgeous sunrises, or watch from the deck off the living room with your morning cup of Joe, and for evenings watch from the deck in the front for beautiful sunsets!

While the master has a king size bed and it's own private bathroom, the other two bedrooms are next to each other, one with a full size bed and the other with three bunk beds and a full bathroom across the hall.

All needed amenities supplied- shampoo, conditioner, soap- all you need is your toothbrush and toothpaste! The kitchen's ready for you too- just bring your grub and you can even throw it on the grill on the back deck.

Amazing location

The location is phenomenal and can’t be beat. I would definitely take extra towels because, well… sand & humidity. The layout was a bit of a challenge for our group of 7 adults but we made it work and again, location was worth it. It wasn’t crowded on the beach at all. We’ve been coming to Port A since 2011 and this is by far our favorite beach location. We only spent time in the house to sleep so the layout again, while not perfect, worked. Thank you for sharing your home with us!

If you want beachfront accommodations, this is the perfect place to visit. For relaxation and privacy, you can’t find a better spot than this on Mustang Island.

AMAZING TIME!!!

The Location was the best we could have asked for! We had a blast and made some core memories with our family. Bed sheets were cleaned and beds were comfortable. The home had AC units in every room and the temp of the house was nice and cold and very comfortable. We truly had the best time and would def book again. Carol the host was very responsive. He is such a nice guy. Highly recommend

Great for kids and fishing!

The beach access is unbeatable. Carl was very quick to respond and very accommodating, he's a super nice guy! The house was not fancy but it's roomy and it's perfect for a family with kids that wants easy access on and off the beach. Everything was clean and the house was ice cold when we arrived.

First of all, it was on the beach and that was great! However, it was hot in the house, in the rooms and at times in the common areas. Owner went on and on about a golf cart deck he built for 10K, he might have been better off putting some of that money into updating the house. Pot/pans poor, needs new air conditioning, TV's in bedrooms not working well. No extra paper towels, toilet paper, dishwasher broken, but it had a outdoor shower which was nice to rinse off. No beach chairs/towels furnished. I think it was priced high for the house and what was offered. We will not stay again.

Beach is 10/10. House is not maintained. (Being old is not the issue)

Read previous negative reviews -known issues are not being addressed. Inside temp remains 80+ degrees & very humid. 2 bedrooms(BR) smelled overwhelmingly of mothballs. 1 BR windows/view blocked by heavy rug. Blinds in bathroom are too small for window & anyone walking past on community boardwalk at night can see in. BRs have heavily stained carpet. Front BR w/ single bed has a heavy urine odor. The owner Carl warned us not to overload the fridge w/ warm items -we didn’t & had to throw out perishable items because it didn’t cool. Carl reimbursed us but the xtra shopping trip was inconvenient. No internet for 2 days. We didn’t feel comfortable using the couches because of their condition. Cleanliness & supplies: had to purchase a sponge & xtra dish soap. We washed the dishes before use. Only 2 kitchen towels, no hand towels in bathrooms, 4 bath towels per bathroom, 1 roll of paper towels, 1 roll of toilet paper per bathroom, 1/2 full bottle hand soap per sink. Found a broom in the closet & was able to sweep up the dog hair & sand that had accumulated but there was nothing else for keeping things clean. The listing description isn’t accurate. Carl says that they still live/stay at the house but they also own the new condos in front of the house, per the West Palm Beach Estates website. Honestly, I can’t imagine his family staying there with the house in such condition. Overall, we didn’t feel comfortable in the house but stayed because of no other options.

Amazing location, house needing a good amount of work

Let's start with why we booked here - amazing location and very affordable price. You walk off the back deck over your own private boardwalk, then you are literally right on the beach. Price - you will not beat the price for somewhere right on the beach. You likely won't come close; especially for somewhere a very short drive from cool spots in downtown port A. Kitchen was well stocked and clean; no issues with the fridge. Cable worked, basic wifi hotspot worked (slow-ish speeds) Now the improvements/problems - lots of little things, some might consider quirky, others problematic. In no particular order, here's some things to be aware of: -Carpet in the bedrooms. In a beach house. Seemed clean, but still... -Wood paneling on all walls in ceiling in main living/dining area, dark color. Very 70s vibe in not the best way; more like a mobile home. Makes the place feel smaller. Bothered some of my other guest much more than me. -Minor pest issues: one bedroom had a small gathering of ants; another had several small frogs be found in the middle of our last night there. More of an issue of maintenance/openings in the house structure as opposed to cleanliness. -Moldy/dirty caulk in 2nd bathroom. Definitely needs to be redone -Entry drive is overgrown with brush. I wouldn't drive a nice car down the driveway for worry of scratching. Easy to fix... -Central air doesn't work correctly. This wasn't an issue with us, as we were here in November, and every room had window/portable units and ceiling fans. Not sure how that would keep up in August. -Window treatments in bedrooms on east side of house lacking, you will be waking up early from the sunrise. This wasn't a bad thing for our tastes, but if you're a late sleeper it would be. -Shower fixtures either clogged from hard water, dirty, or lacking water pressure. -Light on back deck is motion activated only, doesn't stay on more than a few seconds. This practically eliminates a great outdoor hangout space after dark. All in all, we actually had a great stay here, with good weather to enjoy the beach. All of the above issues didn't bother me much, but greatly bothered some of my other guests. A great value, but a small amount of money and work on improvements would go a long way. Debated between 2 or 3 stars overall, but the price was impossible to beat for a true beachfront property.

I have very mixed views about this place. The location is absolutely fantastic, and is the reason to book it. The views from the deck were fantastic, and the beach was basically private as there was so little else out there. However the house left a lotto be desired. This house appears to have been neglected for years. Doors could barely open, paint was peeling, and it appears to have once had central AC, and it broke, and was replaced with a hodge podge of loud wall units that detracted from the stay. The deck was one of the most beautiful parts of the house, but it didn't feel safe in parts. One of the boardwalks going to the beach was clearly broken with the stairs falling off by the beach. It wasn't a big issue as the other boardwalk was in good condition and could be used safely, but at least block off the unsafe walkway. Additionally there were areas of the decking behind the house that felt like they weren't properly supported. Inside the house, the layout was a bit odd, with one bedroom only accessible from the master bedroom. It was really awkward as that was one of the nicer bedrooms. The two rooms connect through a bathroom between them which can't be locked. Beyond that the internet/tv were out due to internal cabling. The owner made me call spectrum with some excuse about the island having problems (no more than anywhere). I arranged to have it fixed, but didn't have internet/tv for my stay (no football or kids TV).

You cannot beat the location! We have been coming to this beach for 30 years for our annual Girls trip and have stayed in several houses. This house by far has the best views and completely made our trip. The pictures make it look further than it actually is to the beach. My only “complaint” is it did get warm in the house and I highly suggest bringing some fans. Other than that, it fit our group great. Just fyi you are by mile marker 86 for the beach by beach access 2, the beach is so much better too, not as many people and the water was not so dirty. Thank you again Carl for letting us stay!!

Hidden Treasure

Great house with private beach access, very secluded. Surf fishing was good right infront of the house. The host communicates extremely well. Highly recommend!

Beach Disaster

The property was dirty and poorly maintained. The owner admitted that someone had stayed in the house between the last cleaning and our arrival. Dishes were dirty. Clothes were present in drawers. The bathroom was largely unusable due to the maintenance and cleanliness. The draperies and furniture were stained. Some of the window a/c units were noisy and not functioning. The floors were dirty. The outside deck was littered with toys and trash. The master bedroom was barely passable. My daughter developed a rash after our stay. We could only stay for 12 hours until we just walked out. I requested a refund from the owner and I am still waiting. The owner did answer my calls promptly. The service and product were not as advertised. I will never book there again.

You can’t beat the ocean access and view. House is older. You have to walk through one bedroom and bathroom to get to the 4th bedroom which is a little awkward when you are in their for an extended period. The 4th bdrm occupants are stuck in their room or can’t get in their room until you are done. But again…..can’t beat the view! Just wish the windows would have opened……

The beach and location were great. The house was very dirty. One of the beds had no sheets. Found the missing bedding in the clothes dryer. The owner was very nice and easy to communicate with but the house was not very nice or well prepared. Would not recommend to others.
