A comfortable family space with nice sized rooms and all necessary conveniences. Owner was very helpful, and I would highly recommend the house for those looking for a homelike relaxed environment.
Our flat was in an ideal location for our time with friends that live there nearby, access to Hollywood Park, access to the Royal Mile. The house was perfectly suited for our group of seven, and in fact, we were able to prepare a meal where we served a total of 12. Jean, our host was so very helpful.
Ten of us stayed here for a week during the Fringe Festival. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, a 30-40 minute walk through the lovely Holyrood Park to get to the Fringe. Grocery shopping is about a 15 minute walk away as are restaurants. Jean, our host was responsive, helpful and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend this property!
The house was not that clean when we arrived. The location and size of the house is perfect.

I am an author and a publisher and I know Edinburgh very well. I was born here and went to University here. This is our much loved family home during school times and we rent it out for holidays.
Why they chose this property
This house is ideally positioned for a holiday during the busy month of August. Be close enough to the hustle and bustle of the Fringe Festival, but nestled away in a quiet, green residential area. It is on the edge of Arthur's Seat, the famous mountain in the middle of Edinburgh, and a short walk from all the historical sights such as Holyrood Palace and Edinburgh Castle. You can see Portobello beach from the windows, a lively promenade and sandy beach just a short walk away. The road at the bottom of the street leads you out to the many beaches on the coastal routes in East Lothian, to Mussleburgh, Gullane and North Berwick. It is a short drive, or there are many buses that take you there. Waverley train station is just off the Royal Mile and will take you further afield to explore!
What makes this property unique
You get mountain walks, sandy beaches and a bustling city centre all in one. You have access to world class theatres and concert halls during the famous Edinburgh Festival. It is not far from St Andrews for the Golf Open and there are many golf courses in Edinburgh itself. Hogmanay (New Year) is a time of festivities all over the city.
