The Pilot House B & B in downtown Bayfield is just 1 block from the water! Private keypad entry to main entrance door. Truly the best view's of Madeline Island, the harbor of Lake Superior and downtown Bayfield, Wisconsin. Private door goes to East Lake Side Deck along with private entrance inside of The Pilot House.

Walk to everything! Private Bath including jetted tub and separate shower, Roku TV, WIFI, in room coffee, mini-refrigerator, King Bed & Queen Sofa-Sleeper, Sleeps 4 in 1 large bedroom, walk-in closet, table with 2 chairs, dresser, night stands, private door to outside East Lake View Deck. Sleeps 4 adults. Lake Views, Walk to Everything! Overlooks Downtown Bayfield, Harbor, Madeline Island and Basswood Island. Use of common areas inside & out with (2) LARGE LAKE VIEW BALCONIES, Living Room, Octagon Lake View Living Room. Just 1 block from water and Ferry. Walk to everything in Bayfield. You are downtown next to the lake! Private parking just steps from main entrance.

Breakfast Blue Berry Muffins, yogurts, orange & grape juice. Coffee maker with coffee and condiments in room along with a Mini Refrigerator. Guests may use our Ice Machine in refrigerator and microwave. Paper plates, forks, knives, spoons, napkins, extra coffee, and condiments on table next to Refrigerator in Dining room.

What more do you need - a beautiful property with great views and a perfect location? It was great to visit with Jack (the owner) but he also knew to give us our space and privacy. Highly recommend this property.

Fantastic Property & Location

My two Sons and I had a wonderful stay. It was quiet, clean, well appointed, and perfectly located just a few blocks from downtown - but still high on the hill with beautiful views.

Bayfield/Apostle Islands

We enjoyed our stay in the Admiral’s Quarters—very spacious bedroom and bathroom. We enjoyed the private balcony, as well as the common spaces, with their lovely view of the water. Our time was relaxing! Bayfield visitors need to be prepared for walking steep hills in town and on the driveway!

Girls trip to Bayfield

The Pilot House was well situated, walking distance to everything we wanted to do in Bayfield. The room was clean and comfortable and just right for my mom and daughter and me. Breakfast was limited. Our host was very friendly.

We had a great two-day stay at the Pilot House. We enjoyed Jack's hospitality very much. He was full of helpful information (and a few corny jokes ha ha). The Pilot House is conveniently located to restaurants, the downtown area, and the ferry to Madeline Island. Our room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We would definitely stay at the Pilot House again if we are in the area. Thanks, Jack!

Another great stay

This is our third time to this property but the first time in this accommodation. We loved the spaciousness of the room with private entrance to a lovely balcony overlooking the ferry dock and Lake Superior. The whole experience of Bayfield has been influenced by our stays at the Pilot House. Jack, the property owner is exceptional to work with too. Highest recommendation.

Can't Wait to Return!

Park your car, leave it alone and relax in an immaculate, spacious room with amazing views. Walk to the ferry, to great restaurants, fun bars, catch a bus to the Big Top for a show. Just make sure you stay more than one night so that you have time to really enjoy the hospitality of Jack, the owner. We had a great escape at the Pilot House. You will, too!

Good Stay

My wife and I had a nice three-night stay at Pilot House. The location in Bayfield is fantastic with close walking access to the main commercial area and the bayfront. Booking was easy, communication with owners was quick and easy, and access to the building was simple. Our room, "Admiral's Quarters,' was clean, comfortable and good-sized, with nice views of the lake. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom is pleasantly large and bright, with a good shower and good sized walk-in closet. The public area of the B&B is beautiful, incorporating two sitting areas, a fireplace and the dining/kitchen area, also with beautiful views of Lake Superior and Madeline Island. We would certainly recommend, though just a few things prevent a five-star review. (1) The "Admiral's Quarters" room is a bit dated and could use a modernizing and brightening spruce-up. Other rooms in Pilot House may be worth checking out. (2) The breakfast part of B&B was a bit underwhelming, consisting of self-serve-from-the-fridge store-purchased muffins, yogurts and juices. Coffee is made in your room. It served us fine, but be aware if you are used to more elaborate B&B breakfast spreads; (3) there is a small outdoor deck with a lovely view that also could use some sprucing up to make more inviting. All-in-all, a very pleasant stay in a beautiful home at a great location that we would recommend.

We had a fantastic stay at the Pilot House. Wonderful views of Lake Superior, within walking distance of the lake and downtown and many restaurants. The hosts were wonderful, friendly, welcoming, and shared great tips about the area. The common area was superb. We had the fortunate happenstance of being the only ones renting during our stay b/c it was after the summer season and during the week. We shared the Admirals Quarters between three of us and there was plenty of room.Check-in was very easy and communication during the reservation process was prompt and clear. I would HIGHLY recommend this stay and we look forward to another stay at some time in the future.

Beautiful harbor view and Jack the host was very pleasant and helpful. I was in the Admirals Suite which was very spacious with a mini-fridge, AC, fan, and comfortable bed, along with additional amenities. Very short walk to downtown Bayfield and the ferry to Madelyn Island. Had a great stay! It wasn't an issue for me, but for those who are sensitive to morning light there is a skylight that does not have a shade.

Autumn Visit

We stayed in Bayfield, Wisconsin for a few days in the autumn. The B&B was very comfortable and Admiral Quarters room was an excellent place to stay for our visit. The bed was very comfortable. Jack and Marie were excellent hosts.

Hop, skip, jump

Admirals Quarters was worth the price. The suite was on the main floor - no stairs to negotiate and adjacent to deck with view of bay and town. Restaurants, shops, and attractions were an easy walk from the house - great location. So might mention the view comes at a price - a steep driveway - but we just looked at the climb as a fitness bonus.
