When Palazzo Forani became part of the family estate, the family chose to open part of it to guests. Some of its historic rooms and spaces were transformed into three independent residences, offering visitors the rare opportunity to stay within an authentic Italian historic home while preserving its original character and soul. The Palazzo stands in the heart of Casperia, a small medieval village in the Sabina countryside, entirely pedestrian and best explored on foot. The building itself forms part of the ancient walls that surround the village. With its imposing architecture, grand rooms, fireplaces, centuries-old walls and private gardens, Palazzo Forani still retains the atmosphere of an ancient fortified residence. The Palazzo itself is also open to visitors. Staying here therefore means much more than simply choosing a place to sleep: it is an opportunity to step into the history of the property, discover its interiors and collections, and experience its gardens.
Arco: consists of three guest rooms, each with its own distinctive character. The Arco Suite is a spacious loft-style accommodation featuring a sleeping area, kitchen and private bathroom, offering an intimate and independent space within the historic Palazzo. The Arco Room, with its own private bathroom, overlooks the historic gardens of the estate, offering a peaceful and secluded view. The Gelsomino Room instead looks out onto one of Casperia's charming medieval streets, offering a completely different perspective on life within the village.
I Granai: is the largest of the three residences and preserves the character and generous proportions of a traditional Italian historic home. The residence features three spacious living rooms, three fireplaces and a large kitchen, creating welcoming communal spaces for spending time together and sharing meals. It also offers four bedrooms, each with its own private bathroom, combining generous shared spaces with privacy and comfort.
La Torre: is the oldest and perhaps most distinctive part of the property, with origins dating back to the 13th century, making it several centuries older than the 16th-century Palazzo itself. Once part of the historic complex, the ancient tower is now an independent residence. It features two bedrooms, a kitchen and a living room, arranged across the different levels characteristic of its original tower architecture. Staying in La Torre means living within a building that has witnessed centuries of history, right in the heart of the medieval village. The Gardens of Palazzo Forani During their stay, guests of all three residences also have access to the gardens of Palazzo Forani, one of the most peaceful and enchanting areas of the estate. A place to stroll, read, relax or simply enjoy the tranquillity of the Palazzo and the surrounding Sabina countryside.
