About this property
Very comfortable hotel, nature and art in a beautiful place full of history.
This spectacular rural accommodation is situated in the grounds of an oil mill dating back to XIX century completely restored in the year 2000. Located in a unique historical and natural enclave, just 1.5 km from the historic center of the town of Teba (Malaga), one of the rural villages with more history of the area, in the municipal museum can be seen objects of incalculable value Artistic that illustrate the past of this villa since prehistoric times. It should be noted that during the time of the Crusades Teba had special relevance, because by chance the fate in heart of the great Scottish king Robert the Bruce (Brave Heart) ended up resting in these lands for centuries ... This incredible space is accessed by a spectacular patio where the cistern and water stacks give the name of the place, this unique rural accommodation has 5 rooms with full bathroom and spectacular views, two of them have fireplace Inside the room itself, which contributes to give them an unrepeatable character.
Each room has its own name inspired by different varieties of olive, all the careful decoration refers to the world of oil and the elements that compose it are mostly doors and furniture restored from the s. XIX, adapted to offer the traveler all the comfort of the XXI century.
The rooms, all different, retain the thick walls of the old building, decorated in elegant country style, with earthen floors, authentic wooden beams, antique furniture and restored doors. All rooms have complete bathroom with exterior window, heating, as well as "Queen size" mattresses (width 180 cm.), With the possibility of establishing separate beds upon request.
From all rooms you can enjoy a splendid view of the Guadalteba Valley, or Castillo de la Estrella.
The house has a large living room with fireplace and comfortable sofas, living-dining area with large tables and bright windows to the patio, ideal for table games, drawing or study.
The house is thought to offer the maximum comfort to the traveler, reason why the domestic services of catering, cleaning, llavandería and taxi, can be contracted of additional form. The house has a small office equipped with refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine and toaster that can be used by guests.
History: There are numerous archaeological remains that illustrate the impressive past of Teba from time immemorial, from prehistoric sites to Roman Villas, but perhaps one of the most fascinating stories of Teba is the ill-fated feat of the group of Scottish knights led by Sir James Douglas, who With the mission to take to the Holy Land the embalmed heart of its King Robert The Bruce (Brave Heard), fell in an ambush of the Muslim troops at the feet of the majestic castle of the Star that crowns and gives identity to the town of Teba .
Every year is celebrated the feat of Sir James Douglas and his brave knights at Douglas Day, which attracts thousands of Scots and history buffs to Teba. In more recent times, historical figures of special relevance had their palaces in this town, as the Empress Eugenia de Montijo. Bandoleros and poets who inspired much of the literature of the nineteenth century could well take refuge and inspiration in this particular landscape of steep mountains and wide valleys? The natural environment of the place is also an unparalleled element highly appreciated by travelers. The Sierra de la Calahorra is home to one of the most important colonies of birds of prey in the area and Bird Watching fans can enjoy watching the flight of the vultures and the Eagles that take advantage of the thermal currents of the morning to fly slowly and during hours the surroundings. Due to its location it is an ideal place to explore the natural sites of Torrox and the reservoirs of Guadalteba. As well as the spectacular Caminito del Rey. Ronda, with its mountains and white villages (Cat's Cave, Zahara de la Sierra, etc.) are only 40 km away, as well as the monumental complex of Antequera. Malaga with its museums, beaches, shops, port, and air port is just 45 minutes by car connected by very good roads. The AVE station of Santa Ana in Antequera, is the most convenient, as it is only 35 minutes from the MOLINO. Additionally from the Station or the Aereopuesto you can provide taxi service and rental cars. As well as a program of activities and guided tours in Spanish or English.
