About Trevor Wasson
I was born and grew up in Northern Ireland and, as a child, spent my holidays in the North Coast area. I was in the construction business in Belfast and currently live in the Newtownabbey area.
Trevor Wasson purchased this Cottage in 2006
Why Trevor Wasson chose Bushmills
As a child, my family spent holiday time in the North Coast Area. I married a Portstewart girl and we continued to holiday in this area with our young family. We purchased Larchfield new in 2006 and collected the keys on the Wednesday of Easter week. We installed the furniture we had purchased over the previous months in the next 36 hours, and our first Guests arrived from London on Good Friday! Larchfield is well constructed and well situated for our needs and those of our Guests.
What makes this Cottage unique
Larchfield has a rural aspect, is situated in a virtually traffic-free cul-de-sac, yet is within a few minutes walking distance of the hustle of Bushmills. also easy driving distance of fabulous areas of natural beauty. Larchfield and the surrounding area, is pet-friendly with lots of scenic walks nearby.

It’s a lovely home in a very quiet neighborhood. Had plenty of room for we were only two people. Great location and comfy bed. Kitchen had all the necessities but we only had breakfast there.
We enjoyed our 3 nights in Bushmills. It was extremely convenient for visiting all the sites that we wanted to see. A couple of good restaurants were within walking distance. Weather was kind to us as well!
An amazing trip to Bushmills and Portrush for the Open and absolutely loved Larchfield. Brilliant accommodation and great to get back to each night after an exhausting day walking the Portrush course. Everything about it was great - handy to town, the distillery and the Causeway Coast. We loved it! Can not speak highly enough about everything … the house, you and your handling of the whole booking from the very first day! Thank you so very much Trevor, and we hope to see you there again one day. An amazing place! Our sincere thanks for hosting us in your wonderful property. Best wishes, Murray, Steve, Greg and Marty
Super place to stay
This well equipped cottage is the perfect place to stay and explore the County of Antrim. Trevor was extremely helpful in answering all the questions we had. The welcome pack was very thoughtful. Walking to the stores using the shortcut, which is in the very informative book, takes 5 to 10 minutes. The visited the Giants Causeway which was simply stunning. We also did the rope bridge, Dark Hedges plus some interesting drives and wonderful walks. The scenery is beautiful. A picture postcard round every corner.
Lovely stay in Bushmills
Excellent lodging, lovely view of the Old Distillery, and a short stroll in to pubs or a local shop. A perfect weekend getaway to the amazing Antrim Coast.
Thanks Jason, it is kind of you to take the time to write favourably about Larchfield and the North Antrim Coast.
We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and we look forward to seeing you again!
Very Nice and Roomy, Great Location
Location was superb. If you don't mind a 10-15 minute walk, there are great restaurants within walking distance. And it's a nice, easy little walk down the main street in Bushmills. This is also a great base for venturing out to Giant's Causeway, The Dark Hedges, the rope bridge, etc. And needless to say, the Old Bushmills Distillery is basically in the back yard - 5 minute walk. The apartment itself was very nice. Plenty of room to sit back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. Had a nice little peat and wood fire in the living room. Extensive directions were provided and care was taken to ensure you have everything you need for a very nice stay. We had dinner at Tartine the first night and then had dinner at The French Rooms followed by taking in live music at The Bushmills Inn the second night. It was all wonderful.
The quaint village of Bushmills, is just an hours' drive from Belfast International Airport or the ferry Port of Larne. Bushmills hosts great restaurants and pubs, some with evening music for the craic!
Coffee shops abound and there are craft shops aplenty, not forgetting the world-famous Old Bushmills Distillery a mere saunter away!
Just a short drive away, there is the World Heritage Site of the Giants Causeway. This can be reached by a beach walk, a cycle ride on closed paths or a scenic train journey above the beach.
This is an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with sandy beaches, magnificent sea views against a backdrop of natural undulating sand dunes.
The harbour at Portballintrae is used as a departure point in the summer for off-shore fishing, but there are other hidden harbours tucked away just ready to be explored or fished.
The Glens of Antrim can be reached by way of the Coast Road, a much heralded attraction in itself, rivalling the Ocean Road in Australia, with stunning views of the coast.
Sport is a great feature of the Bushmills area with superb golf courses within easy reach. Royal Portrush is just a few miles away and has been justifiably selected to host the 'Open' in 2 years time.
The 'North West 200 motorcycle road races are world renowned for speed and thrills, and are held in May of each year
