About this property

Franciscan Casalotto Guesthouse

The structure is born in the heart of the original Franciscan Path, at the center of two historical sources of the passage of Francesco (Abbey of Vallingegno rif. And church of Caprignone ref.) And in a dominated and privileged position across the valley of Chiascio at 650 m. S.L. m, surrounded on one side by the eugubian hills and on the other by the valley leading to Assisi with the outline of the majestic Mount Subasio. It is 13 km from the center of Gubbio, 35 km from the center of Assisi. The building where hospitality is made is entirely new, built entirely with the most restrictive anti-seismic criteria and totally in class A. The lining of the structure is entirely made of thermal coat, which guarantees less thermal dispersion both in summer and winter. The heating and cooling system is on the floor, controlled by a heat pump and gas boiler, implemented by solar panels and photovoltaic systems that minimize the environmental impact and allow us to be almost self-sufficient. In addition, both summer and winter comfort is guaranteed, as well as a hybrid thermal system as well as ceiling fan in each room. The construction work was completed in May 2017 The name of our Guest house comes from the name that was assigned to the cottage adjacent to the toponomastica structure to locate the old houses without civic numbering. Our farm grows in 5 hectares of countryside all strictly cultivated biologically divided between an experimental plant of controlled truffle, an olive grove, 30 honeybees for production of products exclusively for family use, a vegetable garden, an orchard that with the spending the seasons gives us fresh fruit: cherries, pomegranates, pears, quinces, walnuts, almonds, apricots, grapes, figs, squares and lots of healthy and good veggies. The fixed presence of the owner and the whole family who collaborates with conviction, passion and pleasure, allow us to make hospitality and hospitality a fundamental requirement for us. We take care of our guests and guarantee the maximum availability to show you our company, the products we produce and everything our territory offers. Sustainability Love, respect, maintain and safeguard the environment for us and for everyone should be a password, we try to do it with differentiated collection, attention to every form of waste, and using alternative energies. The structure is divided into 4 rooms, each of which has a toilet and independent and independent exit to the outside garden. At guests' disposal there is the possibility of using a fully furnished modern kitchen including fridge, ironing hob, large oven, wood burning fireplace, TV and the necessary for preparing a first dish with seasonal vegetables of our production. All the necessary for breakfast preparation is also available in the kitchen. The common room with exposed beams and large windows is available to all guests. Each room is equipped with all the necessary furniture and has been chosen to use five colors to separate one room of the other following the chromotherapy philosophy. One of the rooms is designed for the needs of people with disabilities.

A presto.

Fantastic!

I can't say enough good about Francesco Casalotto! The building is very nice. Clean, well laid out, spacious with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. The kitchen has everything you need by way of equipment, plus basics for breakfast (including coffee and tea) and some of the things you'd need to make other meals as well. (If you're planning on cooking there, I'd recommend waiting to shop until after you've checked in to the place so you know what staples have already been made available to you.) It's a perfect location for making day trips out to places like Assisi, Spello, Gubbio and San Marino. And when you return at the end of a busy day, you have a beautiful place to relax! There is room (and lawn chairs) to sit outside as well as plenty of space to hang around inside (kitchen and a small den space). The host family is absolutely wonderful~ friendly, communicative, helpful if you're looking for recommendations for places to visit and/or eat in the area. And the dogs and cats are lovely social creatures too! They also just happen to have the fastest internet connection of anywhere we've stayed this trip, if that matters to you. We will absolutely be booking another stay with them and recommending them to any friends or family who are planning trips to Umbria!!
