House in the mountains 20 minutes from the sea

The house is split over two levels. On the ground floor there is the kitchen with attached small toilet and sink. Upstairs, which is accessed via an internal staircase, we find a large bedroom with double bed, bathroom and outdoor space with breathtaking views over the whole country.
The house, set in the rock at the foot of the Castle, is located within the historic center of Mistretta, a delightful municipality in the Nebrodi Park. As in all historical centers, car access is not allowed but it is only 5 minutes from the center of the country. The beach is 20 minutes away by car. House not suitable for disabled, elderly and children.

Ein Rückzugsort mit Blick über die ganze Stadt

Die Wohnung liegt einige steile Straßen bergan kurz unter der Festungsruine. Die Terrasse die noch ein halbes Stockwerk über dem Obergeschoss des Hauses liegt und aus dem Schlafzimmer zu erreichen ist, schmiegt sich in die Felswand. Wer hinaufsteigt, sieht über die Altstadt mit ihren Kirchen, hat einen Blick weit ins Land und kann abends an einem Sommertag das Stadtleben hören, die Lichter sehen und – fühlt sich in eine andere Zeit versetzt. Genau genommen sind es drei Terrassenebenen unter einem Feigen- und einem Birnenbaum, ein schönerer Ort lässt sich nicht ausdenken. Das Haus ist komfortabel ausgestattet, die Küche überdurchschnittlich praktisch bestückt und mit dem Gasherd und Ofen durchaus geeignet, anspruchsvoller zu kochen und dabei aus der Tür in die Altstadtgasse zu schauen. Vom Haus aus ist man in fünf bis zehn Minuten im Zentrum mit allen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten oder eine halbe Stunde Fußweg zum größeren Supermarkt am gegenüberliegenden Teil der Stadt. Der völlig unterschätzte und eigenartig wenig besuchte Nationalpark Nebrodi ist bequem und ohne Auto zu Fuß zu erreichen, wenn man die fehlenden Beschilderungen durch GPS ausgleicht. Der Park muss den Vergleich mit anderen Naturreservaten nicht scheuen und bietet unglaubliche Ausblicke bis hinüber zum Meer. Das Haus ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt für ausgedehnte Wanderungen. Zum Ätna sind es zweieinhalb Autostunden. Der Kontakt zu den hilfsbereiten und jede Unterstützung bietenden Vermietern ist reibungslos. Perfekt.
