Located in beautiful Door County Wisconsin in the quaint village of Ellison Bay on the upper most part of the peninsula. This home is situated close to the water with views from the tower room WITH A WONDERFUL western facing 12X15 foot deck. A great area for sailing, biking, hiking, shopping, galleries, theatre, star gazing, vegging out, and my personal favorite (check out the photo) salmon fishing.

The home is beautifully appointed with comfortable overstuffed furniture,hardwood floors, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, cathedral ceilings and much more. According to our past guests the best feature of the house is the huge screened-in porch off the kitchen. New in August 2018 a generator has been added to the home so that you will never be without electricity, Wifi, or air conditioning etc.

New in 2016....If you would like to book a 3 hour boat tour ($500) contact the owner.

This is not a 'bare bones' rental unit. This is our family vacation home which we would like to share as time permits.

Preferably rentals will be Sat-Sat and if you click on the calendar you will be able to tell at a glance what dates are still available.

PLEASE NOTE...ADDITIONAL dates may be available UPON REQUEST. Please don’t hesitate to ask. At this point the home is able to sleep 8 people in beds. 4 more in sleeper sofas BUT KEEP IN MIND there is only one full bathroom on the second floor and a half bath on the first floor. (VRBO’s computer will not allow me to list 1.5 bathrooms. They insist on listing it as two and I do not want my guests to be in for a surprise once they arrive)

ALSO The first floor bedroom and bathroom will NOT be available for any reservations made AFTER May 10, 2022. This “wing” of the home which also includes the owner’s studio and laundry area is separate ( separate entrance, separate kitchen etc.) and will POSSIBILY be in use by the owner.


Two of the upstairs bedrooms are furnished with queen beds and the 3rd upstairs bedroom is ready to sleep 7 with a double/single bunk bed, 2 single beds and a sleeper sofa. Just outside this bedroom is the loft which overlooks the great room and fireplace and also is equipped with a new sleeper-sofa.

The loft is an ideal space for the kids to go to play games etc. A spiral staircase will take you from the loft to the tower room....which is sure to become the kid's favorite place to hang out.......or Mom and Dad's favorite place to watch the sunsets over the gorgeous Ellison Bay waters. We added a large deck off the tower room so that you may be outside while enjoying the view over the water.

The location of the home ideal. Within walking distance to the Marina, the Pioneer Store (our local grocery), galleries , shops, and restaurants. It is also a short walk to the Ellison Bay Beach with it's tennis courts, beach and playground.

Due to the covenants of the condo association we are not able to welcome pets. We are also a non-smoking property.

I hope you will take the time to look into this property and the great Northern Wisconsin vacationland that encompasses this area. You will fall in love with it.

The mention of popcorn threw me for a second and then I realized you were talking about the candy store, which is just a block away. I hope you were also able to take advantage of the marina, the Pioneer Store 🍒 (our wonderful little grocery store) and the parks and the beach which are also within walking distance. Ellison Bay has always been on the quiet side of things, but each year more and more people are discovering what a very special place it is. Getting away from the traffic jams and crush of tourists can be just what the doctor ordered.

We loved our stay at this charming, whimsical home. It was clean, cozy, and stocked with all the necessary comforts. The location was perfect for us and walkable to everything in town. The house itself had many nice touches: a lovely front porch and upper deck, a comfortable open living/dining/kitchen area, a fireplace, and even comfortable beds. I thought having just one shower might be tricky, but it worked out fine for our group of five adults. The owner was lovely and communicative, and check-in/check-out was a breeze. Overall, great value-we would definitely stay here again!

Ellison Bay WI. Beautiful

This home in Ellison Bay was perfect for our family of 12, ranging from age 3 to 72. It is very well stocked, beautifully decorated and in a nice quiet neighborhood. It is close to water access for our kayaks and sandy beach. It is also close to popular attractions. A perfect home away from home!

Family Time

A Comfy House Close to the Bay

We stayed six nights in this house with three adults and three kids. We loved its proximity to Ellison Bay and local shops. It was an excellent home base for our Door County adventures! We especially loved the upper porch and the three-seasons porch off the back. It’s definitely a good option for medium-sized groups. The only drawback was having only one shower. Still, we would stay there again, for sure.

Nathan, Thank you again for choosing my home for your vacation. And thank you also for taking the time to leave a review. Moving from a four bedroom, 2 1/2 bath to a three bedroom, one and a half bath (after 18 years on VRBO) was a big decision and not something I took lightly. Creative showering schedules is sometimes necessary and I am actually meeting with my builder tomorrow to speak to him about creating an outdoor shower. That kind of thing is commonplace in Florida, but not so much up here in the Northwoods. In the meantime, thank you for your flexibility and for appreciating the great things about the house. For me, it is all about the location. When I’m on vacation I hate having to get into the car every time I want to go to the grocery store or a coffee shop or the marina. Ellison Bay is a wonderful spot as a home-base for your exploring Door County. You’re away from the hustle and bustle and the crush of thousands of tourists and you’re able to just relax and unwind. It is “old Door County“ at its best. Hopefully, if you return next year, you will be able to shower outdoors the way we used to when I was a kid.

Felt more like a home than a bare bones vacation rental!

Just a great experience. The owner, Lyn, was in communication with us prior to and during our stay, and really helped provide guidance on local attractions, places to eat, etc. As suggested by the title, this property came with ALL of the amenities -- right down to stuffed animals in the kids' room to cleaning pellets for the dish washer. A wonderful experience!

Lovely home

Lyn’s home is lovely getaway! Our adult children spent every evening in the screened in porch playing cards. We all decided that was our favorite place in the house. The location is fantastic. It is a quick walk to watch the sunset at night or to walk to get a cup of coffee in the morning. Highly recommend!

Family stay in Ellison Bay

Our extended family of 11 (ages infant - 72 yrs) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely, clean, comfortable, spacious home in Ellison Bay. We had everything we needed for our five day stay. Lyn Hale, the property owner, was very accommodating and easy to communicate with throughout our stay. We especially enjoyed the quieter location, while still being just a short drive to the “hot spots” of Door County! We also enjoyed the secluded backyard, short walk to the marina, and upper deck for a nice view of Green Bay (and stargazing!) We highly recommend this property and would stay here again!!

Family Reunion

This property worked great for us. There were plenty of beds,clean & comfy. Lots of towels & good shower. The kitchen was well stocked so that we could cook meals there. Walking distance to 2 places for meals if we needed to eat out. Ten minutes from the other house with relatives .attending the reunion. Close proximity to many other Door County "want to sees." Perfect for us.

Family vacation

We have been going to Ellison Bay for the past 4 years. We meet up with relatives from California. My family usually stays together in one house. This year we picked this house on Pine Lane right in Ellison Bay. It was in the middle of everything we needed. Close to the Pioneer store and the Viking restaurant. And within walking distance of Uncorked festival. The screen porch was a great place for our 2 year old grand daughters to go and play without disturbing others. The view from the 3rd floor lookout onto the lake was great, especially at sunset. I would recommend this property to others with out hesitation. Thank you Lyn for a great week in Door County.

Great home, comfortable, and a huge screen porch.

We recently stayed at Lyn's home June 18-2, 2016. We were a group of 6 adults and 4 children and we all were very comfortable. Beds were comfortable and the house well stocked. But our favorite room was the big screen porch where we spent most of our time, either eating or playing cards. Lyn even went out and bought a new grill for us when she found out the old one wasn't working and knew we were big grillers. I thought that was very thoughtful and showed how much she cares that her visitors have everything they need. We especially liked the quiet location after a busy day exploring Door County. I highly recommend Lyn's place to anyone and would definitely return. Thank you, Lyn, for sharing your home with our family, your attentiveness to our needs, your kindness, and your warm friendly smile when we met each other.

Great family getaway

Our first family visit to Door County was so wonderful. The home was perfect for us in many ways. Very quiet neighborhood, home had everything we needed including kid-friendly things like toys/games, whole kid loft with bunk beds and play area. Screened in porch was so peaceful. Home is walking distance to shore where we were able to go watch sunsets multiple times. This is the owner’s actual home so there are many personal items. Our kids are very good about not touching items though so it wasn’t an issue for us. Home is well stocked with everything you need. I enjoy being able to cook our own meals and not having to go out every meal. Owner communicates well and gave us great advice on where to go for things. Ellison Bay is quieter than the other towns which we also appreciated. We enjoyed our stay tremendously and cannot wait to return.

Wonderful, Cozy Home!

We had a wonderful time at Lyn's place in Ellison Bay! We had a group of 7 adults and this was the perfect setting for us friends to reconnect and relax for a long weekend. The home is beautiful, well kept, and has ample space for groups. The fireplace was a nice extra cozy touch to have. Lyn was a fantastic host! She was very helpful, available if we had any questions and was a great resource in giving recommendations for local things to do! It's super nice to have a number of restaurants and the general store within walking distance to the house as well. The weekend we were there was cooler and overcast the whole time so our only regret was that we didn't get to enjoy the sunsets from the upper deck. And the fact that there is so much to do in Door County, we didn't get to fit it all in. I guess we'll just have to make another trip! We would definitely recommend Lyn's place for anyone looking for a nice home, with all the amenities you could want (plus some)! Thank you Lyn for all your hospitality!

Beautiful setting

Located in a great part of Door County, off the beaten path but everything still accessible. It was nice to have the general store and coffee shop all within walking distance. The rental was wonderful; included all the cooking and eating utensils you would ever need, as well as access to pantry/spices, the grill, TP/paper towel, cleaning products, extra keys for the condo and beach/bath towels. Really nice to have the sheets/bedding provided. The kids really enjoyed all the games available and I loved reading through the assortment of books on the screened in porch every morning. Also very nice to have notes with heads up about the house from the owner. Not all places do that. The beds in the two guest rooms were great but the beds and flat pillows in the "bunk room" not so great. Two of our guests left with aching backs. Also, no access to laundry. With a big family and long stay it would have been nice to throw a load or two in. For shorter visits, probably not a problem. Lastly, access to the pier is not as close to the condo as we anticipated. Overall, really nice property.

This was a very nice 3 generation family who stayed in my home for a week. They were out and about and visiting the peninsula and when our paths would cross, I was told that they were having a great stay. So I was a little surprised to see a couple of the comments here. My ad does not list a washer and dryer so that should not have come as a surprise and It is a short walk to the marina, probably around three minutes to get there. I’m not sure what people expect in a bunk room designed for kids, but I will agree that the mattresses and are not as luxurious us as ones in the queen bedrooms. But I do supply two twin 3 inch memory foam toppers which people can choose to use or not use as they see fit. Nevertheless, you as perspective renters will have to weigh 17 years of nothing but 5 star reports against what you have read here. I do appreciate the constructive criticism regarding the pillows in the bunk room and I will take a closer look at them and see if they need to be replaced.

Inaccurate description

!Be wary of this property owner! The bad news: The home owner listed the house as a four bed but it was only a three bedroom. In addition the pull out couch in the area they claimed was the 4th bedroom was broken. So not only did my teenage neice not have a room she also did not have a bed. Talked to owner who blamed VRBO for the false description something about their algorithm..... she did change it during our stay so she was able to get around "the algorithm" after we complained to her. I was the primary point of contact, she was kind and applogetic and offered a modest refund (the cleaning fee). I accepted this resolution, and defended the owner because she came off as so nice. Other members of my family felt we paid a lot of money for a 4 bedroom house that we didn't get and were very frustrated. The thing is we never even got the modest refund. :/ So much for my defense of her. I waited this many months to review to give her ample time to follow through she didn't. The good news: the house is beautiful and in a great location

Very very difficult to know where to start here. I was probably more upset than the family was when I learned that VRBO considered a loft with a sleep sofa in it as a bedroom. It is not a bedroom. It is an open loft that happens to have a sleep sofa in it. This was CAREFULLY explained in my description of the home, but because of the Vrbo algorithm, it pops up as a 4 bedroom during the initial search. (this was explained to me by the VRBO's Help Desk as well as how to solve that issue. Which I did the next day) I immediately, sent a copy of VRBO’s response to Lissa. In addition to the written description of the home, there are abundant photographs, which also describe each room in detail. Had the guests taken the time to read it they would have understood that one of the "sleeping spaces" was an open loft. I was probably at the house five minutes after I received their phone call. My cleaning staff does not check a sleep sofa unless it had been used. This particular one had not been used this year and I was just as surprised as my guest, to find out that one of the bars had been bent by the previous tenant and kept the bed from opening. I called my handyman and 10 minutes later, the problem was solved. So I estimate that these guests were without a functioning sleep sofa for about 30 to 40 minutes. The niece, a 15 year old girl, was still not happy because she did not have a private room to call her own. (I get that, I was 15 once). But she DID have a bed, albeit a sofa bed. The weather was going to be beautiful and I suggested that she might enjoy sleeping on the futon on the large screened in porch. She jumped at the opportunity and never complained about it. So when Lissa wanted a monetary reduction in the cost of their stay, I felt it would be fair to credit the $150 cleaning fee. I wish I had given her a check right then and there as this was the busiest time of our season up here, and I simply forgot. Considering it has been five months since their stay, I think the timely, smart, as well as kind thing to do would have been to simply send me a text as a reminder… but I imagine she was looking forward to some type of retribution by writing this review instead. it’s very sad, but I believe she was under a lot of pressure from her family and wanted to find someone to blame and I was an easy though illogical target. I hope this $$ brings some happiness and joy to this family and I wish them all the very best in the new year.

Lovely stay!

We had four adults and three children stay for a long weekend. We very much enjoyed the house. Enough space for everyone by far, stocked very well, and right in a nice quiet area like we hoped to be. Walking distance to a grocery store and a couple restaurants and dark enough at night to see a fair amount of stars. House was exactly as listed and we all had an excellent time!

Wonderful Family Getaway

We had a wonderful stay! The house is very open and easily accommodated our large family with 3 bedrooms and a large kids room. Overall we had 7 adults and 2 kids in the home and it did not feel crowded. Having the large screened in porch and yard area was really nice, especially with kids. Also, the house is ideally located in Ellison Bay and close to everything you would need. It was an easy walk to the water to put in our paddle board.

Excellent rental property for a large group!

We had a wonderful week in Ellison Bay. The house worked perfectly for our group of 12. We had 3 generations, grandparents, kids and grandkids. The house was welcoming and homey.

My name is Lyn and I have been vacationing in Ellison Bay since I was 2 months old! God did some of his best work up here and once you try it you will be hooked.

Beginning in June 2022 I may or may not be in residence in the artist apartment/studio which is in a wing off the east side of the home. It is completely separate from the main home with its own entrance, living, quarters, etc. The remainder of the home will be entirely for your private use. New, lower rates have been adopted to reflect this change.

Why they chose this property

Proximity to the village was a major "must have" for me..As a traveler myself I hate having to hop in the car every time I need something from the grocery...or I want to go out to breakfast...or head to the marina.
I love screened-in porches so I added a HUGE screened-in porch and a 3rd floor deck to allow for a water view and presto!! I was in paradise. We are walking distance to our favorite restaurant and the grocery. There is a marina about a block away and also lots of cute shops and other restaurants within walking distance.

What makes this property unique

The rear porch overlooks a large yard with beautiful flowers and enough room for badmitton or other yard games. The most important thing to know though is that this is NOT a 'bare bones' rental property. This is my home and equipped with all the ammenities for anything you might need. We also have 2 pack and plays...2 bumper guards for little one's beds...toys...videos...wifi...you name it. I can also get you 'hooked up' with the best fishing guides in Door County. I m also available for babysitting should the need arise.
