Athina house is named after the goddess of ancient Greece who represents wisdom and inspiration. The house is located in the heavenly peaceful and safe village Pagkalochori, surrounded by olive trees (the ultimate symbol in Greek myths), lemon, orange, tangerine, fig and several other types of trees, fruits, aromatic local herbs (such as “diktamo”) and flowers. In a spacious and well-cared garden which gives the sense of freedom and comfort our field could easily be considered as a real Cretan nature jewel! The house is ideal for relaxing, unforgettable holidays for you, your family or friends, with a comfortable outdoor area for children and chances for viewing exceptional sunsets!

wonderful stay

We had a delightful stay few days ago. The property exceeded our expectations! The home is lovely and comfortable. The garden is so beautiful I could not describe it in one word! Wonderful holiday away from the hustle and bustle of life. Many thanks to Elia and her parents who took great care of us.

fantastisch

Zeer ruime comfortabele woning met alles er op en er aan in een olijfboomgaard met een zee van bloemen. Heerlijk zwembad. En heel aardige en hartelijke eigenaren die ons verwenden met homemade producten en fruit. Dit alles in een heel rustige omgeving met mooi uitzicht. Fijne ruime balkons met goed meubilair. Kortom: een topper!!

Relaxing rest and hospitable owners!

We easily found the location , the family was waiting for us. Elia's mum had prepared for us homemade food and we were offered fruits and sweets. We were reallt pleased by the garden. It is full of trees and flowers, spacious and well-cared by the family's dad. The village is indeed very quiet (very few cars pass by) and we really enjoyed our drink in the evening sitting outside by the pool. Our holidays were exceptional there and the owners were great too! Strongly recommended !!

Our family’s philosophy is guided by the motto that “beauty lies in natural simplicity” and we promote the “Cretan Therapy”. For that you just enjoy the nature’s goods (fruits, herbs, olive oil etc which you will find in our field), breathe fresh air and you will find peace of mind, rejuvenation and well-being. Our guests have the opportunity to use the goods cultivated in our field during their stay here.
The house is located in a privileged area just 1.5 km far from the beach, the nearest shops, mini markets, taverns, pharmacy etc. and 20min far from Rethymno town. It has got a beautiful natural and geographical position so that you can visit the eastern and western Crete easily (about 1 hour by car). You could combine your stay with a visit to the closest historical monasteries, Arsani and Arkadi, which are open to the public, archaeological sites (Eleftherna), the nearest picturesque villages (Loutra, Adele, Pigi, Maroulas, Arkadi, Margarites etc) and the town of Rethymno (10km far) with its historic fortress, Archaeological Museum, Old Town and the longest beach in Crete (18 km in length) covering very short distances. You could also go hiking, biking, fishing and swimming in the sea. During your walking tour you will enjoy the scenic route, the optical memorable and emotional experience offered by the landscape.
