"River Ken Cottage" is situated only a few meters from River Ken in the Galloway Hills 45 minutes from Dumfries. If you are looking for peace and quiet you have found it here. Amazing views, fantastic walking/cycling.
The space
"River Ken Cottage" is a very idyllic riverside log cabin situated 10 miles from St. John's Town of Dalry in the Galloway Hills. Great cycling/hiking right on the doorstep and close to Southern Upland Way. Roe and red deer are seen on the hills daily. Nearest town is Castle Douglas with a wide selection of goods. Drumlanrig and Culzean Castle, Galloway Forest Park with Dark Skies Observatry for star glazing and Wanlockhead Lead mines are just some of the many attractions in the area. As we are "in the middle of Nowhere" you will need your own car. We are 20 minutes from St. John's Town of Dalry and Moniaive villages with shops, pubs and restaurants.
The property is on ground floor level, heated by electric air pump and comprises:
Entrance Porch with chest freezer
Open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area
Lounge Area with TV and DVD
Kitchen Area with 2 ring ceramic hob, microwave with grill and convection oven, fridge, toaster, kettle
Dining Area with table and chairs
Bedroom with double bed (access from one side only) and views over river
Shower Room with shower enclosure, electric rail, WC and wash basin
Facilities:
All fuel, power, bed linen and towels included. Travel cot and high chair available on request.
The Cottage has a covered veranda perfect for al fresco dining, external picnic table and BBQ. Off road parking.
Our house is on site so you can always get in touch.
Please note there us no wifi in the cabin and phone signal can be limited unless you are with EE.
