Marao Cottage with Private Garden - Near Historic Center

House in the center of Porto, close to Lapa subway station, at 1. 6 km walking distance from historical center. Restaurants and Supermarket nearby (400 meters). Garden floor of a 2-family house with private entrance. Fully renovated flat with Wi-fi included.
Consisting of two bedrooms plus a TV room with a sofa bed (3rd bed), brand new kitchen with new appliances, fully equipped with electric 3-burner cook top, separate oven, dishwasher, clothes'washing machine and coffee maker with milk frother - start your day with your own cappuccino and fresh squeezed orange juice on the patio! Large kitchen table comfortably seats four. The kitchen opens onto a small sunroom which accesses the new windowed bathroom as well as the sunny outdoor patio and garden. Entire apartment for 1 to 4 people.

We would like to inform you that on March 1, 2018, the city of Porto will apply the Tourist Tax to all bookings in all hotels. Anyone older than 13 years, staying a night in Porto, pays the tax per night, per person for a maximum of seven straight nights per person and per stay.

Tourist Tax rates: € 2 per night and per person, up to a maximum total amount of € 14 (Seven straight nights per overnight stay / person). We ask guests to pay directly to the owner upon arrival.

The host couldn’t have been more accommodating. Introduced us to the property himself and showed up early to let us in. Nice location especially if you want to stay out of the touristy section. Recommend Casa Cartola just up the street for dinner.

The rental was very well maintained with everything a person needs. It was also very clean with a lovely garden. However, for us, being elderly seniors, we found it too far to walk to the city center.

A very punctual host with communication and easy to reach. A very nice place to stay and loved the fact that it had a nice washing machine and lots of space to hang dry our clothes (after our Camino de Santiago bike ride), and plenty of pods for the coffee machine:-)Also, definitely recommend Casa Cartola restaurant and cafeitaria Nandinha bakery within the walking distance as long as don't mind a bit of hilly walk:-)

Comfortable and good location

The host was very friendly and welcoming. The bottle of wine, bottle water and grapes were very good. Good walking distance to local coffee, local restaurants and historic center. Sleep accommodations were good.

A quiet spot on the edge of the city

A very helpful host and a comfortable two bedroom house with everything we needed for a four day stay. Very quiet neighborhood and a nice garden. A bit of a walk to the metro station but doable. We would be happy to return.

Porto stay

My husband and i had a wonderful stay in Porto. The VRBO manager welcomed us as we arrived and explained everything about the apartment. There was a bowl of oranges in the kitchen along with a bottle if water. We were happy with our stay and would stay here again while visiting Porto.

Excellent spot - super quiet

We loved staying at Rui's place. We were able to walk downtown every day and enjoy the hustle and bustle but then return to the apartment located in a very quiet neighbourhood. Being just a few minutes walk from a good sized grocery store was an extra bonus. Thanks for everything Rui!

The house is quiet, clean with a nice garden and only a 9 minute walk from the Metro station Lapa. Rui is quick answering all questions. We had a great time.

The property is well located. Pingo Dose is a short walk for groceries. The Metro is close and there several restaurants nearby. Parking can be a bit difficult. The property is well supplied with everything you need to fix meals.

Lovely quiet retreat

Rui was a wonderful host; greeting us to orient us to everything in the flat including a few treats he provided. We enjoyed the garden for coffee in the morning and a glass of wine after a day sightseeing. It was a good walk to the main tourist area but transit is also convenient. There is a good grocery store within a short walk. The location was nice and quiet for sleeping.

Our place was very close to historic Porto. We could walk which was an advantage. We had a car and we were able to park very close to the suite. Lots of room- 2 bedrooms, our host welcomed us and answered all our questions. (comfy beds).
