Fantastic, well equipped flat in beautiful location.
Just had a week in this fantastic accommodation. Gave opportunity for walks in lovely countryside, visiting national trust properties and a beautiful place to come back to and relax at the end of each day.
Cottage had everything we wanted, very clean and comfortable. Lovely views over the garden. Great area for seeing the Surrey Hills, within easy reach of Leith Hill, Brroklands museum, Wisley RHS garden and National trust properties. A great stay, thank you!

Dear Anne Many thanks for your lovely review - so pleased that you enjoyed your stay. Louise
We really enjoyed our stay at Dormer Venn. The location is superb set amongst beautiful gardens with a great view of the lake. The flat itself was comfortable, clean to a high standard and in the perfect location to explore a wide variety of places in Surrey. The hosts (Louise) were most helpful and we loved meeting Bea the dog who welcomed and said goodbye to us most days including our last day and loved a good fuss! We would highly recommend Dormer Venn to any one we know wanting to visit Surrey and hope one day to visit again.

Prima. Plek is fantastisch.
Heerlijk adres “in the quiet countryside”
We chose this property because it is near to where family lives. It was perfect for that. We stayed for 2+ weeks and the weather was quite cold and rainy during our stay. Sadly, we couldn't take much advantage of the walking trails in the Surrey area but we were warm and comfortable at the flat. We didn't cook but made breakfast and light dinners; the kitchen, albeit on 2 levels and down stairs, was fine. We did find the parking tricky as we are not used to manual transmission cars. I would advise renting a small car if you are staying here; between the multiple cars that are parked in the area one must park and the narrowness of the area, there is alot of forward and reverse to get out. We had an SUV, the only car available at Hertz when we arrived, and we did have some trouble getting out. A minor inconvenience. Louise was very helpful and prompt with answering our questions. Altogether a lovely stay.
Wonderful accommodation in an excellent location. Beautiful and clean, very well equipped with everything you could need and more.
Wonderful host Louise, very welcoming and helpful.
Would definitely stay here again when in the area.
Lovely apartment, good quality and comfortable furnishings. Everything you need to unwind and beautiful area.
Only minor thing is that kitchen is on two levels and on ground floor. All prepared food and drinks are consumed upstairs. Once you get accustomed to it, it is okay.
Brilliant week long break for a couple, working from home was a breeze and the access to the beautiful Surrey countryside was unreal. A little gem of a place.
I can’t speak highly enough of how much we enjoyed our stay. We had to do a quarantine after immigrating to England and we picked Dormer Venn to do it. I’m so glad we did because it was comfortable, clean and cozy. The time flew by! We especially enjoyed getting out into the garden and using the well supplied kitchen. I will be recommending it to friends and family when they come to visit

Thank you for this lovely review, we look forward to seeing you on another visit.
After months of lockdown coupled with intense Zooming sessions for work we really needed a break. The very well equipped and clean flat provided a perfect base to both rest and walk from. A well-stocked bookcase providing plentiful reading. Set in beautiful gardens running down to a lake you can walk in multiple directions to discover, to mention just a few, quiet woodland tracks, the North Downs Way and a nearby village with well stocked shops and pub.
The hosts are friendly and informative without being intrusive.
So, in total, well recommended and we hope to return in the autumn for more lovely walking.
High spec, comfortable accommodation with wonderful views of grounds and the Downs beyond. Approachable and delightful hosts, what more could I have asked for, returning to the UK and unwinding while sorting out permanent accommodation.

Thank you for your very kind review Lisa. Thank you for choosing to stay in Dormer Venn at the start of your adventure. We hope that your plans are going well and you are enjoying your new life. Louise
We had a pleasant stay in Dorma Venn it was very cosy and comfortable.
The kitchen was compact but well equipped however the steps behind the sink, fridge, cooker felt a little unsafe. The garden was absolutely beautiful and the view of the lake from the property was stunning. Louise was friendly and helpful and there is plenty of gorgeous countryside to explore. We were visiting family and friends so it was a perfect base for us to do that. Dorking is a beautiful town with lots of Antique and Boutique shops but also supermarkets and everything you could need for your shopping only a couple of minutes drive away.
It only took 20 minutes to drive from Gatwick so also very convenient if you are flying in.
All in all it was a wonderful place to stay.
An extremely comfortable flat situated in the Surrey countryside. Car is essential but location is ideal for exploring local beauty spots. Flat is well equipped and the owner is helpful.

Lovely 1st floor flat, beautifully decorated with all you need. Ideal location for walks and sights.
Even the fact it rained every day couldn't not spoil my stay. Coutryside ideal for walking with some great pubs nearby, Royal Oak, Holmbury St Mary a favourite. National Trust Polesden Lacey a must to visit for the house and grounds. Kingfisher farm shop just up the road also a must to visit. Dorking very pleasent to wander around with tea shops, antique shops and good charity shops.Enjoyed a perfect break despite the weather.

About the host
Hosted by Louise Scillitoe-Brown
We have lived here for almost 30 years, arriving with a tiny baby to dilapidated house and derelict garden.
We are still making discovers in the garden as we peel back layers. We are currently in the throes of creating a new kitchen garden and have found lots of rubble!
We love living here, walking in the beautiful Surrey Hills and seeing the seasons change. We also enjoy being close enough to London, to visit galleries, museums and the theatre and to the coast for bracing walks on flat sands.
Why they chose this property
The Surrey Hills are especially beautiful and our light filled home is a great location to explore the surrounding countryside, National Trust properties. Both London and the coast can be reached within about an hour out of rush hour. The large pretty garden overlooking a lake and Ranmore, but within a 10 minute easy walk of the village centre are the reasons we moved here.
