Lovely 3 bed detached villa with a private pool overlooking an Olive grove

Lovely detached 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom detached villa with a private pool overlooking an Olive grove in a quiet location on the edge of a traditional Greek village, 5 minute drive to the beach at Panormo.

The house has flexible accommodation, two big balconies, inside and outside dinning tables, inside and outside sofas, fully fitted kitchen and everything you need for a lovely holiday.

There are sunloungers and parasols by the pool, reclining chairs (steamer chairs) on the side balcony, a BBQ, a corner sofa and coffee table on the front balcony. All mod-cons in the Kitchen including dishwasher, oven, hob, microwave, washing machine etc.

All berdrooms have air-conditioning. Two have en-suite bathrooms and the other is right next to the family bathroom.

The house as wifi, flatscreen TV, DVD/BluRay player with Netflix and a wi-fi/blutooth speaker, so if you have a Netflix or Spotify account then endless entertainment is available.

The nearest beach is at Panormo which also has nice cafes, shops and restaurants.

A 20 minute drive away is the lively University town of Rethymno, with a Venetian harbour and fort, lovely shopping lanes, outside Cinema, bars and restaurants.

The house is less than an hour drive from Heraklion and Chania. So whether you are into history & sight seeing, walking, water parks or just want to chill by the pool or on the beach, there is the perfect location for you.

All bookings now include the climate resilience levy (which is 15 Euros a night for the 2026 season) and I will issue you with a receipt. If you don't end up staying then this 100% refundable until the day you check-in.

Nice location, very quiet. Great value for money. Well equipped kitchen. Chris was an extremely helpful and communicative host. Unfortunate delay in check in and initial clean, the only blight. The property does have a lot of steps to access!

Lovely villa with beautiful views!

We had a fantastic stay in Roumeli. The villa was perfect for our family of four and we especially loved the beautiful views and the pool. The villa is on the edge of a village looking out over olive groves. Very serene and peaceful. We found the beaches at Bali (15 min) were great for kids and teens and the port at Panormos (5min) was a lovely spot for dinner watching the sunset. It was great to have aircon in both bedrooms too and the house had every convenience we could need for a relaxing stay (dishwasher etc). Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday!

Beautiful peaceful location

Eirene is located in the most beautiful and peaceful place at the edge of a very small village. We had a fabulous time here. We loved having the pool (and aircon in the bedrooms). It was very well stocked for cooking in the villa. The only thing I would say is that we arrived at 23.30 not having had anything to eat or much to drink since about 13.00 and there was nowhere open until late morning on the Sunday. There are 2 supermarkets here where you can get pretty much all you need. I would recommend getting a car because the village is quite remote but once you have, Crete is a beautiful place that is easy to explore with lots to do or time to just chill at this gorgeous villa.

We agree with Tracy, we recommend to all our guests that they hire a car because although the nearest beach is only a 5 minute drive, it is a 15 - 20 minute walk, which can feel much longer in the heat of the summer! It is also the easiest way to get to and from the airport (where one can pick and drop off a car). Crete is also a big island with so much to see, that even one spends days relaxing around the pool, we always think it is nice to have a car to hand so one can spontaneously have a day out whenever one wants. Also, although the two small supermarkets in the village are open most of the time and we make sure there is a bottle of mineral water in the fridge for all new arrivals, there are much bigger supermarkets a short drive away so again a car comes in handy for shopping. I am glad overall Tracy and the family really enjoyed their stay.

Peace and relaxation

My wife and I took our 2 week break at Villa Eirene to just relax and get away from the rat race. The villa is perfect for this. It’s so quiet in the neighbourhood and the views from the verandah are stunning. The pool is a great size and we spent most of our time there. Eating out is just a simple short car journey away or the local taverna does some good home cooked food. Decent supermarkets are also a short car trip away. The house itself is cosy and has everything you need. The communication with Chris was first class at all times and his pre-stay info pack is detailed. The internet can be a bit patchy at times but this is a small village in Crete not a big city. All in all we had one of the most relaxing stays we’ve had together anywhere since the children left home 10 years ago. Highly recommended.

This is a beautiful villa, very well appointed in a quiet area with fantastic views (over olive groves with hills beyond), from the lounge,front balconies,third bedroom and the pool.The accommodation we found was first class,couldn't fault it,home from home, clean,tidy, everything we needed.Communication with the owner was excellent.The only thing we noticed was there are some steepish steps and the third bedroom is a self contained room built into the villa but not accessible from it. This was not a problem for us(our 17 year old enjoyed the freedom) but might be for others with young children. If you're looking for a relaxed break in a great setting but still near lots of facilities with a lovely pool, air conditioned bedrooms etc then this is the place for you.

Perfect spot for relaxation and exploring area

Located in silent area on the edge of small village with stunning views facing olive trees and mountains in the background. We loved the different terasses and the pool where our children were alot.The owner was easy to reach and very helpful. The village Roumeli is very "local" with not many tourists, but small authentic kafenion and within walking distance a local taverna, with good food and stunning sunset view. About 5 minuttes in car from there, the bigger Panormo with nice city-beach, good food everywhere and a calm "not touristy" mood. We loved to come there and it became "our" town. The location is pretty central for sightseeing both the big attractions like Knossos, Chania, Retymno, Spinalonga, but also to roam about on the coastline, mountains villages, food markets and monasteries finding authentic local spots with good tavernas and friendly people. Will highly recommend this:-)

An Hellenic Gem.

Villa Eirene is fantastically located. It has a sense of solitude, overlooking an expanse of olive groves, out towards the mountains. Although the Villa is also well situated, with good access to the E75, proving easy access to the major cities of Chania, Rethynmon and Iralaklion. As a family, we found the villa welcoming and well equipped and a relaxing place to spend time under the Hellenic sun. The swimming pool was well cared for and and larger than average for Crete. A great place to swim, or just to lean over the edge and take in the vista. The veranda is well shaded and cool, with a breeze that is cooling. The guest folder is comprehensive and provides some great suggestions for beaches and cultural attractions. Locally, closely located to the villa, is the small fishing village of Panormos. It has a small beach and some excellent tavernas. Finally, Chris was a great host, a good communicator and attentive. We would not hesitate to return to Villa Eirene in a heart beat. Truly a Hellenic gem.

A little piece of heaven...

What a gem!!We arrived at the property and were overwhelmed by the loveliness of what we had booked. The property is in a quiet village location with wonderful views of mountains and olive groves. The living spaces were spotlessly clean and cool the whole time. The shower was powerful and controllable. The kitchen is really well equipped with everything we needed and cooking was a pleasure. The fridge and freezer are a great size, the washing machine is easy to use and does a great job.The location is great for Rethymno, which we loved and kept going back. Heraklion was also within reach for a day out as well as Chania in the other direction. We visited many of the places recommended by the host including the caves and the wonderful village of Margarites to see the potters at work.The villa is obviously a much loved home from home as well as a rental. It's got those 'home touches' without being cluttered.The host was amazing at communicating and we felt fully informed about the villa facilities and the area. The village map was so helpful on arrival.We enjoyed being surrounded by wildlife & stargazing at night.Only drawback we can think of is there's a lot of stairs. But worth it we think for the tranquility.A car is necessary for this property but roads are in good condition and easy to navigate.Can't recommed this villa too highly! Loved it!

Ein toller Urlaub in einem wunderschönen Haus

Wir haben uns in der Villa sehr wohl gefühlt und eine wunderschöne Zeit genossen. Perfekt waren für uns die drei Badezimmer, der separate Wohnbereich für unsere Teenager, die herrlichen Terrassen sowie die ruhige Lage am Dorfrand.Wichtig ist zu wissen, dass es einige Treppen gibt. Uns hat das nicht gestört.

Maison très bien située pour visiter la région. Endroit calme et vue magnifique sur les oliviers Juste un bémol pour accéder à la villa : 65 marches !!! Ce n’est pas toujours aisé, surtout pas les fortes chaleurs ... Heureusement il y avait la piscine. Nous y avons passé un excellent séjour.

... ruhig, gelegenes Ferienhaus mit herrlichem Blick über den Olivenhain zu den Bergen ... in einem kleinen Dorf, fern von Tourismus ... nahe eines sehr netten, ehemaligen Fischerortes am Meer, mit nettem Sandstrand, auch hier wenig Touristen ... gute zentrale Ausgangslage zu den Städten Rhetymnon ( schöner Wochenmarkt) Chania oder auch dem Palast Knossos, urigen Bergdörfern, u.a. dem Töpferdorf Margarites, Kloster Arkadi oder Irini, Wandermöglichkeiten, wie der romantischen Mühlenschlucht ... ... das Ferienhaus mit schönem pool ( Mardern, Eidechsen und auch einer Schlange ...) und voll ausgestattetem Küchenbereich, bedarf im Innenbereich einer gründlicheren Pflege ( Sauberkeit, Ordnung in Schränken / Kammer, Erneuerung der Wäsche, Badutensilien, Funktion der Außendusche ...) alles in allem hatten wir einen sehr schönen Aufenthalt ...

Villa in Roumeli

Schöne Villa für 6 Personen in ruhiger Lage mit Pool. An der Ausstattung fehlte nichts. Wir haben es genossen, von hier aus, Kreta zu erkunden. Besonders zu empfehlen sind Rethymno, Knossos, Melidoni, Margarita, Imbrosschlucht sowie die Strände in Bali und Spilies zum schnorcheln. Kleines Manko: relativ harte Betten und viele Stufen zum Haus. Wir empfehlen es gerne weiter. Der Besitzer ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit mit Tipps zur Umgebung.

De woning kan netter (kleine reparaties) maar alles is aanwezig en wordt direct opgelost.

Mooi huis, mooie locatie. De kleine ongemakken/tekortkomingen (kapotte lamp, zwembad) zijn snel verholpen.

Yes sometimes light bulbs go and guests can accidently break things, which we might not be aware of unless we are informed but as soon as we are, then we do our best to get any minor problems resolved as quickly as possible.

First time in Crete

This is such a beautiful and peaceful villa, the photos don't do it justice. Our flight was delayed, and we struggled to find it in the dark - luckily we accidentally drove to Stefano's house and he very kindly led us to the villa. What a wonderful surprise when we woke up the next morning, and saw the beautiful view across the olive groves - magical. Our kids loved the pool, and we loved Crete. There are a couple of lovely cafes in Roumeli and you have to have dinner at Taverna Roumeli - so welcoming, and great food. We loved our 2 weeks of relaxing and exploring the area - so many lovely places to enjoy Rethymno, Plakias, Panormo to name just a few. The villa is very well equipped. There are 3 terraces so always somewhere shady to escape to, or somewhere to sunbathe, or somewhere to escape your family. A couple of things to bear in mind - there are a lot of steps - no problem for us but if you have mobility issues, or very small children, this might not be for you. The third bedroom is a self contained unit that cannot be accessed from inside the main villa, it has its own access and staircase - once again perfect for us, our daughter loved her own space. If you're looking for somewhere to relax and explore Crete - this villa is perfect. We hope to come back one day.

We have owned the house for over 15 years from new and regularly holiday at the house with our 2 children. Both have had the first summer holidays at Crete at less than a year old! I prepare the house every Spring for guests and make sure everything is in place so you can enjoy a lovely, relaxing stay. If there any issues our neighbours Stefanos and Cheryl are on hand to help.

Why they chose this property

The house is a perfect location, overlooking an Olive grove but 5 minutes drive to the beach and the pretty village of Panormos, pottery village of Margarites, Bali with five beaches and inflatables for aqua fun and Melidoni caves and close to the lovely and lively town of Rethymno. Further afield but still less than an hour's drive, you can visit the Knossos palace, Waterparks, the Samaria gorge or the Acquarium.

You can reach the house within an hour from the airports at Heraklion and Chania.

The property itself is a home from home with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, outside and inside sofas, dinning and a private pool and terraced gardens featuring Orange and Lemon trees.

I don't know about you but I also like my modern conveniences, so there is WiFi, Blu'ray player, Flat screen, Multi-room speakers, Netflix and Spotify available! As well as all the gadgets you have at home in the Kitchen!

What makes this property unique

Just sit on the front or side balcony watching birds of prey circling high above as the sun rises or the sets over the Olive Grove amd watch the light change, it's magical!
