Beautiful Home with Terrace on Catania's Seafront - 20km Etna, 50km Taormina

When you walk through the front door of this flat, you'll find a clean place, ready to welcome you; from the fluffly towels to the welcome book filled with local knowledge.

The double bedrooms are furnished in a sober and elegant style and contain a wardrobe and an armchair. The separate living room, which can be used as a third bedroom, contains a large sofa bed, an antique table with six Kartell chairs and flat screen 50-inch 4K television with satellite and Netflix channels.

The full kitchen is complete with all appliances (fridge, freezer, microwave, coffee machine/tea boiler, toaster). It is well furnished with a round table with two chairs. A Mini-bar is available on site.

The kitchen and living room open onto the terraced balcony complete with a small table for two, overlooking the condominium gardens and courtyard. The laundry room with washing machine is in a separate compartment.

Each room of this beautiful apartment is illuminated by large door/windows, which give the apartment a welcoming sunny atmosphere.

NEIGHBORHOOD - the property is on the beautiful seafront of Catania!

DINING OUT - In addition to many traditional Sicilian restaurants, there are great places to dine, such as Andrew's Lighthouse, Cutilisci and Pepe Nero, to name three in 5 minutes on foot. Viale Ruggero di Lauria has many famous bars and cafés serving delicious breakfasts, brunches or aperitifs with a magnificent view of the sea. Moroccan, Japanese and Chinese restaurants nearby.

SHOPPING - Corso Italia has many clothing stores. On Sundays we have an organic market right in Piazza Verga where you can get fresh fruit and vegetables, or there is a mini market within 2 minutes walking distance for all your food needs. Viale XX Settembre (15 minutes on foot) is ideal for high-end clothing stores. It is easy to walk to Corso Italia and only a few bus or metro stops. Excellent transport connection on Via Etnea and the large open-air market in Piazza Carlo Alberto.

FITNESS - Along Viale Ruggero di Lauria you can make incredible walks, footpaths and cycle paths along the seafront of Catania. There is a gym, 5 minutes away. Every first Sunday of the month, Viale Ruggero di Lauria is closed to traffic, perfect for taking long promenades by the sea.

NIGHTLIFE - the area is full of bars and clubs with welcoming and live atmospheres.

This strategic position allows you to enjoy a complete holiday, sharing your time between sea, shopping, restaurants, excursions, night life, exhibitions and concerts.

GETTING AROUND
Park your car in one of the absolutely free parking lots around the building and walk, run or cycle along the coast (Viale Ruggero di Lauria) and Corso Italia shops at 500 meters! Free parking is an absolute luxury in the chaotic Catania!

If you want to visit the historical part of Catania, just hop on a bus, which stops on Viale Ruggero di Lauria (in front of the property).
If you prefer to take the subway, there is a metro stop 'Picanello' to be opened very shortly, for now the nearest stop is 'Galatea'. (10 minutes walk)

The nearest train station "Europa" is just a 5-minute walk away.

The airport can be reached within 15-20 minutes by car. There is a bus called "Alibus", which will leave you at Central Station. From there you can take the bus, which will leave you right on Viale Ruggero di Lauria (in front of the property).

On request we can book transfer and pick up directly and the property with authorized guides for all destinations (eg Etna, Taormina, Gorges of Alcantara, Syracuse, Ortigia, Marzamemi, Noto, Ragusa, Caltagirone, Piazza Armerina, Agrigento, Wine Tasting , Trails of the Castle, and many others).

If you have rented a car, there is ample free parking nearby. The property manager will assist you upon arrival. If you need paid parking it can be arranged, there is ample parking 5 minutes away (please inform the property manager so that the reservation can be made for you).

Transfer service with shuttle from / to the airport with quality vehicles and authorized drivers. Price quotes are available on request.

The worst rental experience I’ve had

We were very upset with our stay and the communication between us and the owners/managers?? of the property. We communicated early on that we were having issues with all air conditioners (there are only two… one bedroom doesn’t have any). There were no instructions on how the use them and the remotes were confusing. Once we finally figured it out, despite the system showing it was producing cold air, the air was not getting cold. No one ultimately came to address the problem and we were very uncomfortable during our stay and especially our sleep as it was hot and there are no fans in the apartment! To make it worse, we couldn’t even open the windows because the shades that block out sunlight make it impossible to get any air AND one bedroom didn’t even have screens in the windows, anyways. We received some help via messaging on whatsapp to “troubleshoot” (which arguably shouldn’t be our job as guests) but eventually they stopped responding and never answered our calls when we tried calling them from the start. Our last complaint to the owner/manager was that the freezer didn’t seem to be working, either. It would barely get anything cold, sometimes freezing things then completely thaw randomly (who knows, maybe because it was so hot in the apartment!!). Do yourself a favor and don’t stay here. I wish we could get a refund. Spend your money and enjoy your vacation elsewhere. In fact you should probably avoid staying in Catania altogether. Just make a day trip.

Dirty, Broken, Misrepresented

The property was: Misrepresented - amenities and furnishings were nothing like what was pictured in the listing. Filthy Dirty - disgusting everywhere; other peoples hair in the bathroom, filthy shower, filthy toilet. Kitchen was disgusting - dirty fridge, stove. Hair in all the corners of the floors. Every fork and knife had to be cleaned before being used because there was so much dried food on them. Broken and Damaged - every room seemed to have something broken, from toilet seats to door handles to window screens The property manager was initially communicative but then stopped responding. When the cleaner came to clean the apartment, nothing really changed. We were told a technician would come to make repairs, but they did not. We left the apartment early and are waiting for a full refund. No communication received since June 12th. We feel scammed and disrespected. Please respond.

Nice Condo Stay in Catania!

To start off.......our travel day from Amalfi by ferry back thru to Naples by train and on to Catania/Sicily by plane was a long and arduous day!.....but by no means the fault of our condo hostess Sylvia who was so gracious to arrange for our excessively late arrival into Catania due to plane delays in Naples and finally arriving at the condo complex gate at11:00pm! Sylvia's colleague Laura arrived by scooter to greet us and provide entrance to the condo located on the 2nd floor! Laura speaking very little English did a fine job showing us the modern 2bdr 2bath condo with it's nice amenities throughout! We provided our passports for pics and required Itialian travel requirements.......and the municipal occupancy fee payment in cash of 32euros for the 4 of us! The condo is nicely furnished in a modern-style motiff and very clean with very comfortable beds! Air condition units in the living room and 2nd bedroom! The big surprise was the kitchen that was fully stocked with complimentary breads, cereal, crackers, and pastries while the refrigerator was stocked with juices, milk, and eggs!.......Wow.....very nice!.....not found at our other 3 VRBO rentals during our Italy/Malta trip! The condo balcony is a nice size with a table and chairs for 2 overlooking the inside courtyards of the 4 building complexes! No views of the nearby seashore! An outside closet contains the washer which is new and very fast washing clothes on "rapido" setting.....15min! A drying rack is provided to set out clothes in the sun to dry out.......never saw any clothes dryers during any of our stays in Italy! Nearby the complex around the corner are some simple eateries and galleterias with some ristorantes across the highway along the seashore!.......there's a "house manual" that Sylvia has composed that lists out places to eat, stores to visit, and sights to see nearby and in Catania which was very helpful during our stay! To visit the "old city center" of Catania, we used the taxi system which cost 16euro one-way for us 2 couples......Calling "Radio Taxi" for our pickup at the condo! This is a very nice property and very secure and safe! Our only issue during the stay which detracted from an excellent rating was on our last night/day the power was going off & on for the entrire area which set off alarms all over which was quite annoying thru the night and into the next day! Otherwise, Sylvia has a very nice place to stay during your travels to Sicily!

Amazing

This was my first time not staying at a hotel and to tell the truth I was a little nervous, But when we arrived in Catania and met Sylvia my anxiety level dropped to almost zero. Silvia is a kind, very together young lady who's professionalism was evident from our first meeting. There was never a question unanswered or need unmet, always a phone call away, but that was just the half of it. When we entered the property I was surprisingly thrilled with how clean, modern and spacious the apartment was. Truly a home away from home, with all the conveniences you would never get at even the best hotel. If you ever visit Catania, Sicily, I would highly recommend this property.
