About this property

Foxglove, Helhoughton, Norfolk

Foxglove is a peaceful eco-friendly hideaway in the depths of rural Norfolk. Surrounded by open countryside, this secret gem of a location often gets overlooked by those dashing to the coast. But slow you down (as we say in Norfolk) if you're looking for a quiet escape, but still only a short drive to the coast, local pubs, attractions and nature reserves, take a look at all that Foxglove has to offer throughout the year.

Completely private and semi-detached from Hollyhock (sleeping 4), this charming single storey wooden cottage is surprisingly spacious for two people. It has a lovely deck with stunning views; a great place for some al fresco dining on warmer days or a sundown glass or two after a busy day out exploring. The cottage is bright, modern and fresh feeling with terracotta floors, a well equipped kitchen and a comfortable king size bed just a few of the attractions of this lovely hideaway. With dark night skies, empty country lanes, resident barn owls and neighbouring Houghton Hall Estate, you might not even want to leave the comfort of Foxglove.

All within around twelve miles or less you have so much choice when you do venture out - Brancaster beach, Titchwell and Snettisham RSPB Reserves, the historic town of Kings Lynn, Fakenham market town and races, Peddars Way ancient walking trail, Bircham Windmill and farm park, Norfolk Lavender fields, The Royal Sandringham Estate, the Victorian seaside resort of Hunstanton... and dozens of lesser known treasures in this beautiful corner of Norfolk.

The most relaxing holiday
Foxglove provided the most relaxing holiday for both us and our dogs had a brilliant time. Beautiful walks from the front door through the countryside. A lovely setting. The cottage has a very generous wooden deck with seating. Lovely to watch the sun set in such glorious scenery. Only downside - and it really is the only one - tiny bath towels and only one hand towel between us. Everything else first class.

Foxglove
As the property is located in the depths of the countryside. A pint of milk could have been helpful for anyone not reading the small print in Norfolk Hideaways literature. We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay thank you!
